No NFC.. why would Samsung disable such a basic feature. Overseas models apparently have this enabled.Light sensor can't decide how bright to make the screen a lot of the time, and will reduce brightness indoors to the point you can't really see anything. Outside it over brightens and blows all the colours so display looks orange.Lastly fast charging does not work at all. I have had this phone about 1.5 years and used a multitude of different cables and chargers and it will never charge faster than 900mA. Pathetic.

I would pass this up, despite it being priced well

To be fair to all companies, I never review anything after just buying the product. So, I've had the phone now well over a year. I can't say it's the worst phone I've ever had... but it's not far from it.Here are the major complaints:1. When on a phone call, the proximity sensor (as in, its against your ear) will fail and without my knowledge, start launching apps, change settings, etc.. all because the "switching the phone to call mode" fails. This is horrible, happens on every call, which makes this phone nearly unusable unless I use either speaker mode or headphones2. The camera, while ok for the budget range, is all pretty horrible at taking any photos unless you have the steady hands of a zen master. Any mild movements, at all, produces a blurry shot.3. 7 ... MoreTo be fair to all companies, I never review anything after just buying the product. So, I've had the phone now well over a year. Double tapping the screen while in sleep mode, you know, to see who just messaged you? or rang you? or to see what notification you just received... isn't a double tap, its a 5-10 tap ordeal... one of the most unresponsive phones I've ever had5. The finger/touch sensor to unlock the phone is horrible... while of course I can add another "5 fingers" using the same thumb as I always do does the trick, I'm sorry... but just not good enough.6. Went to a customer to fix his computer. Used my "5g" to download a driver, I noticed I was getting about 500Kb to 1MB a sec... he then connected his phone instead, and was getting 10MB a sec, I asked, what carrier you using... he then gave me the same carrier I was on. :(7. So many more negatives, that I'm sure no one has gotten this far to read any of it...Positives:Battery life so far has been decentIt doesn't seem to overheat while I'm using GPS and having it mounted on my windshield mount in the very hot sun, as other flagships has always overheat quicklyThe calls when speaking are clear and no complaintsThe price to power value is decent, in other words... games run smooth enough for what this phone is, though don't expect to run ANY proper new gen 3d gamesIt has a headphone jack and expandable memory... good

I'm already wishing I hadn't bought this phone. I'm on Disability Support Pension & a single mother of 2. I bought this phone as my Christmas present from my kids. I had an old galaxy a5 which I couldn't upgrade any more but at least I could use it for making contactless payments through nfc. This a22 5g does not have nfc & I cannot afford another new phone. Why would you take away a feature that is being so widely used these days??? Waiting anxiously now to find out what else I can't do with this phone. Not very happy at all.

Please look at other models instead of the A22 5G
6 December 2021

I had purchased the phone a week back and have been trying them. Screen is giving multiple issues while using. Quick usage like 10 minutes are still okay. Usage which is above 30 minutes be it for work, texting or watching videos across different application will make the screen sensitivity worst. Screen is not responsive and having the "ghost touch". I have tried to update all the sofwares on the phone, restarted multiple times and did a factory reset but issue persists. I went over to one of Samsung service centre regarding this matter but the results indicated as no issues. This screen issues won't be rectify by the company. Issues have been shared across some websites. Please consider to get other phone to avoid from facing this matters too. Thank you.

Good Points: Clear front screenSmart lockImprovement Points: It’s heavy and if you have small hands it is uncomfortable. The camera is very poor. Indoor photos have a yellow cast on them and seemingly no way to correct it.The camera doesn’t have a zoom feature. I have had cheaper Samsung Galaxy models with better camera function. The delete function for text messages doesn’t give you the choice to delete individual texts - it’s delete all or nothing. The side keys are difficult to press especially if you have dexterity issues.I regret buying this phone.I read the reviews but there weren’t many and none mentioned my issues.I recommend people do further research but I found it quite difficult to find much.

Review of SAMSUNG Galaxy A22 5G - 128 GB, Grey

Good Points: The price was ok for the specs on this Galaxy a22.Improvement Points: Before the samsung, I owned a Huawei and let me tell you that the Huawei had so many additional options! (For nearly the same price). In the galaxy a22 I dislike the fact that the phone doesn't turn itself on for the morning 's alarm (you need to leave it always on)!!Camera is not even close of quality and options of my previous p9 lite!!(and that one had only one lens, the galaxy a22 has 3 useless lens. Focus bad, in the dark useless too. Another thing I hate about the camera is that even though I have all filters disabled, I still get photos with some kind of filter, like the skin is plastic. I thought it was me at first, but investigated a bit and found out many people ... MoreGood Points: The price was ok for the specs on this Galaxy a22.Improvement Points: Before the samsung, I owned a Huawei and let me tell you that the Huawei had so many additional options! I like photos to be as realistic as possible and it's so annoying that I can take normal photo, people think I have started using filter at my age!!Not impressed about samsung galaxy. As functionality is worst that a 6 years old phone.

Good Points: Nice colour.Plenty of storage, 64GB.Improvement Points: Not good for left handed people as all the buttons are on the right hand side and if you hold the phone in your right hand you only have one thumb to press the buttons, no good for screen shots as you need to press two buttons with one thumb or use two hands. My old Samsung had the unlock button on the back, this is far better than on the side. I often touch the side unlock button when I pick up the phone, so when I want to actually use the phone it says I have tried too many times and locks it so I have to use the pattern to unlock it instead of my fingerprint.Sound is very tinny and often doesn't ring at all when I have WhatsApp messages, people tend to phone me to tell me they have sent ... MoreGood Points: Nice colour.Plenty of storage, 64GB.Improvement Points: Not good for left handed people as all the buttons are on the right hand side and if you hold the phone in your right hand you only have one thumb to press the buttons, no good for screen shots as you need to press two buttons with one thumb or use two hands. My old Samsung had the unlock button on the back, this is far better than on the side. Will give it a bit more time using it to see if I get used to it otherwise will sell it and find something that isn't a Samsung.

Good Points: Built like a tank, great screen, reasonably good battery life in daily useImprovement Points: The microphone on the camera is utterly despicable, anything other than speech directly into the microphone is a garbled mess of white noise akin to the earliest digital camera I ever had, this makes it useless for recording any event other than self indulgent blogs; any music, ambient sound, or speech at any distant over a few inches from the phone is unintelligible. The camera is also caught between a high quality but narrow field of view, or a more reasonable field of view that blurs out all detail. In this day and age I can't believe a £400ish phone could have such an awful camera and microphone setup. It also drops signal constantly for seemingly no ... MoreGood Points: Built like a tank, great screen, reasonably good battery life in daily useImprovement Points: The microphone on the camera is utterly despicable, anything other than speech directly into the microphone is a garbled mess of white noise akin to the earliest digital camera I ever had, this makes it useless for recording any event other than self indulgent blogs; any music, ambient sound, or speech at any distant over a few inches from the phone is unintelligible. Good Points: I'm used to A51 Galaxy and the only improvement is that battery lasts longer. However it seems to take a bit longer to charge. Still a fast charge though.Improvement Points: Can't display time etc on the screen when screen is dark. There is no option to keep that information on display 24 hrs. With my last Samsung A51 I could choose to do this. I could glance at my phone when I wake in the night as I frequently do and immediately see what time it is. Now I need a separate clock or have to 'wake up' the phone. A HUGE minus point for me, so much so if I had realised this beforehand I wouldn't have bought it. I also thought from the information given with the phone that the camera functions had been improved, however all seems to be the same as my A51 ... MoreGood Points: I'm used to A51 Galaxy and the only improvement is that battery lasts longer. Strange things on the A22 5G cellphone
18 March 2023

use the A22 5G cellphone. It hasn't been 3 days since the LCD, SPEAKER, MICROPHONE, MACHINE were damaged even though I used them fine. And also why is the A22 5G cellphone if the update is getting longer, the features are getting less. There used to be Smart View, now it's gone, the more it's updated the more bugs, I can turn on Mobile Hotspot on the lock screen. Even though I haven't entered the password yet. If I play a game on the A22 5G cellphone, the Frame Rate is not stable. The Frame Rate has been going up and down, at first it was 60fps suddenly dropping to 08fps. Even though I only played the game Bus Simulator Indonesia. I do not lie.
