The new phone (Samsung Galaxy A33) was quite affordable (200) and so far seems to have all the qualities I was seeking from a "budget" class phone, and more besides. I got it to replace my rather old Moto G6 Play which had a broken screen (not economically repairable), its battery life had dwindled away, its touch screen had become erratic and insensitive and the camera lens was unclear. In particular the A33 has a stellar battery life, bright screen, responsive touch screen and largely familiar layout. It seems to perform well and offers many software features and apps which I didn't have before, some of which are useful. Some niggles and annoyances of course, some of which apply to most technology. The port at the bottom for charging and communication is USB-C ... The two physical buttons on the side are the same black colour as the casing and so virtually invisible, and they are not easy to detect in a tactile way either. I may apply some Tippex if it gets too annoying. Like all phones the keyboard is about the size of just two keys on a laptopkeyboard and so is really inefficient to use, but that's the trade-off for portability. I haven't tried voice input yet. The bluetooth connects to my hearing aids much more effectively and reliably than the old phone. The newer version of Android takes a bit of getting used to but it's reasonably familiar. As in all phones the battery isn't interchangeable so it had built-in obsolescence and is not environmentally responsible - something governments ought to criminalise. There is no manual supplied - you have to download it and print it (160 pages) yourself which is annoying. But all in all a great upgrade.

Although this is a Android and has all gadgets. My particular device has issue when making ,basic call. Either on 4g cellular or via WhatsApp . The calls are intermittent. The caller to me, I can hear. But they cannot hear my conversation. I have never placed a negative review. But in this instance I must to bring this issue to someones attentionHopefully I will not need to dial in an emergency... For this I have had to carry an old android phone, just in case ,as I am carer for my elderly family...

I bought this phone over a year ago, and it's greatI've had no issues so far with anything related to the phone itself, 5G works great, very durable (I would know since I'm a little clumsy) and surprisingly, I lost it for 1 hour at a lazy river in a water park, and it came out untouched, litterally nothing changed, it was even recording the entire thingI think this phone is great, I would've loved for it to have wirless charging though, but that's not a problemI originally bought it as a temporary upgrade from my iphone 6 until I can afford a new iphone, but I think I won't be getting an iphone anytime soon, and I can't wait to upgrade to the next generation

Good Points: Only went Samsung because of their excellent update policy. Always had Motorola (7) previously. Nice screen, good battery life, latest Android.Improvement Points: Too many unnecessary apps that use battery and cannot be disabled. One called Digital Wellbeing is an out and out privacy nightmare, totally not needed and every time you stop it it restarts. Camera's are dissapointingly only 'ok' nothing special especially on zoom. The phone also does not pull the signal in as well as a Moto G 5g plus, noticeably worse. Finally too many apps duplicated Samsing and Google doing the same thing and again many cannot be removed. For the price it's an ok phone not an outstanding one.
Phone posted in a bag. Box crushed and open. Box and phone covered in black dust. Whole lot looked second hand. customer serviceis next to useless no one has a clue blamed everyone but them self's. It was a complete joke payed top money thinking I'd have nothing to worry about then by the time the reaslise they were worng it was to close to christmas to sent back. They wouldn't even offer me a refund. Just send out a new phone that wouldn't get here till the new year

The in game priority mode, Able to get most info from old phone even if different make.Improvement Points: When you do something on the phone a message always comes on the screen at the bottom on an almost black background confirming what you just did, which would be OK but message stays on the screen for ages with no swipe action or way to remove immediately thus stopping you doing other things on screen.Think all phones should now be able to let customers arrange their pictures into files within files, and have a choice to keep those copies of photos or screenshots in the files they choose and ... Good Points: As a 53yr old guy, it's near perfect for my level of tech knowledge. Excellent camera, musical sound and memory (to replace my own, haha!). Upgraded from the A7 and why anybody would pay more is beyond me. I appreciate tech savvy youngsters and gamers etc might roll their eyes, but it suits me down to the ground.Improvement Points: Stull struggling to link to my PC to download files, upload music etc and an also unsure whether it will cast to other devices when streaming live sport. More a comment on the users age versus simplicity, otherwise no gripes at all!

The A33 5g 128gb with 6gbram. is superb and very fast from selecting installed apps.The battery life is exceptional, I dont have it glued to my ear like my kids and grandchildren but I get three to four days before its dropped to 15%. I used the camera to good use last night at my local jazz club although the lighting was not ideal just a couple of hundred watts for the whole stage area Taking shots of the 18 piece big band they are very acceptable. For someone who is looking for a good all-round mobile phone I would recommend taking this A33 for a test run. Transferring files, apps and settings from your old Samsung phone is a ... I am very disaponted. I swithed from A3 to A33, but I do not feel I made an upgrade. If it wasn't that my old phone had little memory I would have stayed with it. Also consider making a small size phone, many people have smaller hands. Worst thing is the camera. Pictures are very blurry when you zoom in. I believe it is due to software. Please make update to fix it. Please include option to shoot pictures without software improvement and also RAW option. With that bad photos from OIS camera I cannot recomend it to anyone.
