Awesome phone for the price I payed for it. Tho I will say, the charger port is slightly weird as the charger could not be used if you are using your phone because it doesn't connect tightly. Also the listing said it was a fully unlocked phone for any carrier but that was a lie, it was locked to verizon only.

!!! So for now, in mid 2020, this a51 galaxy is the best choice for anyone needing a cheap smartphone. Not only does it run all of the apps I'm used to but it delivers great performance for things I've not used before on subpar devices. The battery life isn't great but with a bigger smart battery by anger, I can fully recharge the phone in a pinch.I'm used to very old phones and should have upgraded a long time ago. My 4g data transfers work so much more smoothly now with this phone. My pictures look better and my videos also have more clarity. With a decent uag case and a zagg screen protector, I'm certain to not worry about damaging the device. Although its a bit bigger heavier than I'm used to for a phone, a popsocket on the back helps to hold the device ... More!!! Plus the screen shrink function helps to touch hard to reach sections of the page when one handed.I'm kind of into emulation, so it's no surprise that I would see how far the a51 can go with video games. When wirelessly connected to a Playstation controller, it flawlessly runs games. I've been using Nintendo, super Nintendo, sega, Gameboy, Gameboy color, Gameboy advance,Nintendo ds, Nintendo 64, Playstation, psp, and Rockstar games from the Google play store. While not using the top tier snapdragon processor or the 8gb ram, this phone still does great work with all of the above. This phone works great with the entire Google suite and I can't emphasize enough how nice it works with the commonly used apps I need from day to day. Now that I have this new phone, I am able to do everything I need to do on a portable computer faster and more easily than before. The samsung software is great, with many helpfultools like the keyboard, stacks, face recognition, and fingerprint scanning I am pleased with my purchase. For the price, I can't afford to complain here. If anything, this purchase will only ensure I will stay with samsung for future upgrades and I'll most likely get their premium offerings. I might have to go ahead and upgrade my galaxy tab eventually since I am so pleased with this a51 device. There's so much for so little in this phone, I am glad that I have it.

I chose this phone as my old S7 had finally decided to break down and I also needed to make use of a gift card. Continuing my Samsung journey I opted for A71.If you want to bump up the security of the phone there is the option of fingerprint scan, pattern login or entering a PIN. You may find the fingerprint scan sensitive each time you wish to log in with this method. While there is no flashing light notification bulb on the side like earlier Samsung Galaxy models, you have the option to activate screen or camera flash notification. The camera is amazing and has lots of different modes to play with. The screen is wide so you can enjoy your videos appropriately in HQ. I would say this phone is good if you need a lot of space. There is the option to add a micro SD ... I feel that the discription hard use condition was overstated; display screen is very clean; almost perfect. Case does show heavy wear but with the case protector I placed it in those "wounds" are unnoticeable. Nice machine. Thanks.
The Sim card holder wouldn't hold a Sim, plastic crosspiece was same size as sides, place it was supposed to go was to long, Sim would slide too far back from front holding area and the whole holder was smaller than anything I had ever seen before and wouldn't fit in other phones, totally different than the one in my Samsung Galaxy a31r 5g. Must have been a foreign (European) version of same phone. Useless. Who do I send it back to? I can't leave my place and no one to take it anywhere for me. Send me another one or refund it to my card. I will gladly dispose of (destroy) it for you! Disappointed in Palm Springs...
I have owned this phone for a while now, and chose it in part as it had a decent camera for the price. While the camera is reasonable - the photo quality is rubbish as the glass which protects the lens breaks with alarming regularity as it sticks out. I am about to replace it for the third time. It seems the only protection is a giant case, which makes the size of the phone annoying! Not a good design feature at all and I wouldn't recommend this phone because of this!
Having previously been using LG cell phones for a number of years switching to and learning the use of Samsung technology is, to say the least, a steep learning curve. Even though both brands are Android the icons and the actions of the Samsung software almost seems the reverse of the LG software and less intuitive. Luckily, even though I purchased the phone second hand it is virtually like new with no known idiosyncrasies. On the positive side the battery holds a wonderfully long charge. I can sometimes go 2 full days without recharging. The screen is larger and clearer than the previous LG-V20 but the overall size of the phone is the same due to no screen borders. The cameras are much better especially in close up, macro, and flas modes. Zooming to more than 20% ... I can sometimes go 2 full days without recharging. The screen is larger and clearer than the previous LG-V20 but the overall size of the phone is the same due to no screen borders. The cameras are much better especially in close up, macro, and flas modes. Zooming to more than 20% in normal mode shows noticeable degradation of the image if enlarged later in post processing on a computer. Most average users may never notice it but I am an advanced DSLR user thus I am much more critical of my photo images. Though frustrating, I suspect the phone will continue to prove its superiority as time passes and my knowledge and use of its technology increases. The only distrust I have in the phone for the future is how long will the battery last before it needs replacement. My previous LG phone had replaceable batteries that were VERY easy, quick, and inexpensive to replace. Unfortunately, LG was the last company to use replaceable batteries thus all newer phones now have a certain built in planned obsolescence.
I bought this to replace my loved but low on storage for updates Honor7, as I was not confident purchasing Huawei in the current climate re Google.I have been delighted with the phones far. I had been concerned about the larger size but so far no problems.I followed a YouTube video to check setting up as the hard copy instructions are minimal. However there is a link in the phone to a manual, just have to find the link.I'm still getting used to it, as I don't change my phone until necessary there are a few features new to me.I downloaded the Samsung app onto my old phone to aid me in transferring contacts etc and was impressed with how well that worked. Also I can connect to my Samsung TV.Thus far, battery seems really good.
The phone works pretty well. I haven't observed any problems with the phone other than just one pixel on the screen that blinks, sometimes, when I turn the phone on (but it isn't something too noticeable or bothersome). The phone was in a good shape other than a few spots on the inside of the clear, back casing (it's on the inside so you can't do anything to clean it). But the front has no issues at all and if you're like me, you were going to cover the back up with a protective cover anyhow.
