This device is perfect for most people. I'm not really into huge phones so I got the smallest size - which was the Samsung S23. After having this phone for several months, I got some strong opinionsFirst, this device has really good camera quality for most people. There is often this superstition that android phones have bad camera quality, but for my daily use this is perfect. Sometimes the camera has a hard time focusing on objects up close, and may have a slight shutter lag when taking pictures, but these are concerns which only matter to photographers. I had a hard time with the fingerprint sensor (may have been because of my screen protector), but I found ways to overcome the difficulty. The first thing I did was re-register my fingerprint when the screen protector was on, and record several instances of my finger. The sensor, despite being ultrasonic, may take a while to recognize the fingerprint. It may also get some time before you get used to the sensor, as it may take a while the first couple of weeks.Lastly, the display is AMAZING. Having upgraded from a 2 year device, I thought the display would only be a slight improvement. But no, it comes with 60-120hz display and I have seen almost zero lag when watching videos or playing games. (Btw this phone plays high performance games like genshin impact like a boss). This is easily a phone which I would give a 10/10. After getting used to this device, the drawbacks don't really matter or become relevant.

A nice upgrade

On the old phone, when you flip it horizontally, you get this spacial, quasi-stereo effect, while S24+ sounds mono to me, and the quality of external speaker sound seems lower. The other thing is the buttons. I really don't like that all buttons are now on the right hand side. Getting a screenshot is a bit fiddly now, when I need to simultaneously press two buttons on the same side of the phone.

The Best Samsung Handset for years - With Qualcomm NOT EXYNOS processor.Let me explain: Australian Samsung devices have for years been hamstrung by Samsung's insistence on using their own EXYNOS processors in their Australian S series handsets (excluding the Sxx FE editions). America and India and South Korea have been getting superior Qualcomm processors that perform better, use less power but have been charging the same price while the rest of the world has had to put up with battery hungry, slower, quicker to overheat and slow down EXYNOS processors that should be costing Samsung Way less to produce than purchasing Qualcomm products to include in their phone. Not only that, but reviews and performance comparisons of their handset nearly 90+% of the time review ... MoreThe Best Samsung Handset for years - With Qualcomm NOT EXYNOS processor.Let me explain: Australian Samsung devices have for years been hamstrung by Samsung's insistence on using their own EXYNOS processors in their Australian S series handsets (excluding the Sxx FE editions). Not only that, but reviews and performance comparisons of their handset nearly 90+% of the time review the Qualcomm version of the handset, not the EXYNOS version - so reviews and benchmarks are typically skewed to a better product than you actually get. Australians have long been disappointed by the real world performance of their Samsung Premier Handsets compared to their expectations. The S23 range (Excluding the FE) is the first range in a decade or so that has used the Qualcomm superior technology across the entire world. The S24 range goes back to EXYNOS for Europe and the rest of the world, and Qualcomm for US, South Korea and Indian markets. Given the 10 year history of EXYNOS, and that they have chosen once more to use Qualcomm in the US market, it seems unlikely that the new EXYNOS is going to be any more superior than their previous offerings - otherwise they would have used EXYNOS globally. The only advantage is the Neural AI part of the processor may be somewhat larger, powering their AI promotions, but realistically, if they really wanted to they could likely implement the same AI in these older handsets if they wanted to - they just have used that AI hook and software for their S24.Saying all that, this handset runs really brilliantly. Having used recent flagship Qualcomm handsets from other manufacturers in Australia, Samsung, through its market penetration is well supported by the Australian Mobile providers, with all moderm features such as advanced messaging and 5G coverage, VoLTE, VoWifi etc well supported. ASUS handsets, for instance, are poorly supported by Australian Telcos, who refuse to allow ASUS devices, even though well capable and qualified to use all these services and more, to turn on these advanced features on their networks and they don't do as well as a result. No such problem with Samsung - All AU Telcos are fully on board. This device picks up Mobile coverage clear and stable in places where the ASUS Zenfone would falter for exactly this reason.Performance, Power, and operating heat are all spectacular. This phone in my experience sips power. If I want to run down the battery it takes the better part of three days connected and active on 5G networks (typically more power hungry) when I would need to recharge after 24 hours on other flagships, and less than that for every other Exynos phone I've used in the last decade.Added to that the PPS 3.1 PD supporting fast charging is great to see come back to Samsung phones - with the right charger it can charge at a rate of 35-40 Watts (for first 50-60% of battery) you can charge from 5-50% in about 20 minutes. The OLED Screen for the Plus version is Very bright, Easy to read in full daylight, very clear and colourful and responsive. The cameras are excellent, if a little oversaturated in colours, as is typical of Samsung. Night shots are very good. The ONLY drawback is the lack of an SD Card slot to allow cheap expansion of memory on the device. You must purchase the amout of storage you need at purchase time. This is easily rectified, but all the major players are charging extoritionate amounts for extra storage when this cheap and flexible option would be simple to implement. But I would get the S23 range over S24 or S22/21 any day - it has been a breath of fresh air to get from Samsung what I paid for - a proper, performant, and premium flagship handset not crippled by a Samsung EXYNOS processor.

Modern phone keeps up with the modern lifestyle

I have used this phone for 1.5 weeks so far. I previously owned a competitors phone and honestly won't be looking back. I opted for the S23+ as I don't need the additional features and power of the Ultra, and despite not being Samsung's top flagship model, it does not disappoint! I'm a heavy user of my phone and to be getting 2 days of use per charge as opposed to needing to top up the previous phone at least once per day is incredible! The performance has been seamless and the ability to customise multiple aspects of the phone to my liking has been a game changer. The camera is absolutely stunning and the pictures I have taken so far look so good that to get anywhere close to that on my previous phone, I needed to heavily edit the picture. The S23+ packs a lot of power and features and doesn't compromise on anything. I am so impressed and can honestly say that this is my favourite phone I have ever owned. It ticks all of the boxes for things I looked for in a phone. I opted for this phone after word of mouth recommendations from friends and although I thought they were exaggerating some of the aspects such as battery, the phone speaks for itself and has blown me away. Thank you Samsung for making a phone which exceeds my expectations without compromise

Had to upgrade to the S23+ from the S22+, after the phone showed signs of mechanical issues despite being immaculate.I have owned this phone for about a week and these are things I like and I've noticed about the phone. So far I am loving the 23+, especially the cameras. I used them to take gorgeous photos for my sister-in-laws maternity Photoshoot and they came out stunning 😍.There are a couple of things that I've noticed with this phone, (they could just be me) such as the volume is very quiet (will play with settings and check to see if Dolby atmos being off could be why) and have to have the volume quite high to hear videos (again could just be used to Dolby Atmos being on, and I think it's off on this one and havent fiddled with mych yet) compared to the ... MoreHad to upgrade to the S23+ from the S22+, after the phone showed signs of mechanical issues despite being immaculate.I have owned this phone for about a week and these are things I like and I've noticed about the phone. So far I am loving the 23+, especially the cameras.
