First impressions of the phone when unboxing, it feels like a quality product with a decent weight and feel without seeming to be too heavy. As soon as you turn it on it's clear that the screen on this is great. Having used it for more than a week now, the quality of the screen makes a huge difference when using this phone and is better than any other I've used so far. Inside or outside there's never any issue of being able to see the screen clearly.Set up from my old phone was very fast and easy, hardly had to do anything other than open up my old phone and set the link, everything I needed was ready to go very soon. The phone itself is fast and very responsive, a very smooth experience whether texting but also gaming something like COD is a very nice experience. The new AI features have been very cool to use, and work very well. Day to day the ones I find most useful are the ones to recommend tones for your text messages depending on the scenario, and the summary of reading a website and getting a snapshot of the key info, have been so useful to use. The others could be useful for specific use cases but not ones I've needed so far, random tests have shown they've worked as expected.Battery life has been way beyond expectations, I have needed to charge it once every two days so far and always confident it will last me all day so I haven't needed to travel with my battery pack anymore. Also, with a suitable charger it gets to 100% very quickly, or if I need a top out before heading out on short notice I've been able to in only 10 minutes or so.Camera is great, has also been great in the past so nothing else really to say beyond that.I do wish however, that long pressing the power button let you turn it off rather than Bixby without needing to change settings, I've never really been a fan of Bixby compared to other options. Also a shame there is no sd card slot again, although there hasn't been one in other models previously either. For a phone with a great camera and ability to edit and save different versions this would make a difference in both taking and maintaining edited versions of photos all on the phone with confidence of never running out of space.Overall I absolutely would recommend this phone.

It is slightly disappointing that after 2 weeks the adaptive charging still do not learn my pattern even I pick up the phone every morning around the same time.Performance is the reason I purchased the new phone, the Exynos 2400 is more than capable when compare to Snapdragon 8 gen 2. Playing on Genshin impact and other high demand resource hungry game, it performs well with little frame drop, temperature do heat up to around 40 degree. Its winter at the moment so will be interesting to see how it will hold up during the summer. However i do experience shutter lag when switching between game and apps. improvement required.Camera is fast and picture quality is good with good light, low light photo have more noise but it is more than capable for most user. AI slow motion is very good feature when you shot a video and wanted it in slow motion, as you want to capture the moment and without the need to change it a different mode.Circle to search function is underrated, it is the most used feature since I own the phone, it's simple and way more convenient than google lens, as it allow you to search the screen you are looking at now. This is a very good phone, with the exynos 2400 so far seems a good chipset. I would recommend anyone who wants a phone that's capable of doing anything you name

Very good weight, well built mobile phone, you know you’re holding something great in your hand from the offset.I explored all the features and was a big fan of the AI capabilities which Samsung talks about. It felt fun trialing capabilities and pushing the device to its limits through active running of variety of apps simultaneously. I was very impressed, I did not feel any overheating and I did not see any slowing down of the system despite having a game, YouTube, messages etc all running in background.Although I love the device I did think about the shape being quite square so personally I’d have preferred slightly rounder edges but this doesn’t affect my decision to buy. I was very happy with the system and speed of the device. The audio is great, watching a movie and listen to music were very pleasant experiences, with very clear voice audio but also great bass.I did not experience any lags, switching between apps was quick and easy.If I could improve anything it would probably be simply that Samsung include a charging plug with the order because it isn’t always convenient finding alternatives and it would make life easier if it was included. From beginning to end, my experience with this device has been amazing. I can’t quite comprehend how it happened but I fell in love with the Samsung system, ease of operations, solid build, attention to detail and uniqueness of it. The Samsung has gained a super place in my life and I’ve been absolutely loving using it everyday for various reasons, not sure I could go back to anything else I’ve ever know when this seems unbeatable!

Once mastered S24+ is a game-changer
12 February 2024

Samsung appear to be spoiling us from the offset with the new S24+, starting with the double un-boxing. However, once opening the box to the handset I was a little disappointed. I had chosen jade green, but it appears more of a pale matte grey-green. It still looks like a top-class premium phone but be aware if choosing the phone for the colour. The phone itself has a nice premium feel and is large enough to easily view videos, but just about small enough to fit in my hand and into a pocket. The battery has a long life, and I can just get 2 days use with mild-moderate use of calls, messages, and social media, when on the basic battery saver option. The cameras are great quality and perfectly able to produce clear sharp pictures in all situations tested, so most ... MoreSamsung appear to be spoiling us from the offset with the new S24+, starting with the double un-boxing. This has taken a while to get the hang of but once mastered is a game-changer in amending and creating content in photos. The ‘circle to search’ feature is by far the most time-saving and enormously fun feature of the new rage. A long press on the home button, and a circle of the finger is all that is needed to search for associated content. It is so sleek and simple it’s brilliant. The other outstanding AI feature on the phone is the ‘live translate’. I regularly book things abroad and is my new little life-saver, if the recipient caller speaks little English. Once on a call there is the option of ‘live translate’ so the moment that you realise you can’t speak Portuguese you can press the button and it will do the rest for you. For the best experience you can to change the caller languages before the call, if you can pre-empt the language. Apart from a couple of odd words of phrases that don’t fully translate, this has been a stand-out feature for me.Finally, for long-time phone owners, the appeal of the new range is that Samsung will have multiple security patches OS upgrades. I would be confident that if you look after the phone it should provide you with decent longevity, which I would personally expect, considering the cost of a premium model.Overall I think this is a great flagship range and the S24+ is the perfect ‘middle-child’ to the other phones in the range. The AI features, once mastered will change how we work and make life easier and generally more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend the S24+.

Review of SAMSUNG Galaxy S24+ - 512 GB Onyx Black

Previously been an S10+ Samsung Galaxy User and so far 1 month in?This phone is already a HUGE improvement over my previous daily driver of a phone.(For context my old S10+ phone was already approaching 4 years old and of course some of the vital buttons to use the phone were falling out after typical heavy usage)Major PRO's on the S24+ so far:VERY EASY AND PAINLESS Migration of all photos, videos, music files contacts and even your installed apps. HUGE+ and that I suppose is a perk of being a part of the Samsung ecosystem thanks to the SMART SWITCH application that is built into Samsung phones. HUGE+ and that I suppose is a perk of being a part of the Samsung ecosystem thanks to the SMART SWITCH application that is built into Samsung phones. The whole process took 30 to 40 minutes to get EVERYTHING across because I store a lot of data. Especially with the wired USB C TO C Connector for full stability during migration.Wireless Migration of data was a little bit unstable so opted to use the cable. The Processing Power, RAM Memory and especially the internal storage is a huge improvement as well.Download and installation of apps from both the Samsung and Google Play store as VERY QUICK. Another + for easy software maintenance.Camera functions are very good they definitely beat my old phone by a mile.Voice recording in most Instant messaging apps is very good quality so definitely a solid built microphone array.Overall other then being SLIGHTLY more heavier then the old phone I can tell it has decent build quality. Already deliberately dropped it a few times onto a wooden floor with both a case protector and a screen protector. PERFECTLY FINE.The only CON I have noted so far is the lack of the built Heart Rate Red Light Sensor that the new phone lacks but the old phone had.Though I suppose using a supplementary Galaxy Watch Wearable will fully compensate and render that negative reason null and void.NOTABLE GOTCHA's for those changing to this phone from an old phone:This took me a little bit to realise but the S24+ Power button hardware wise when the phone is OFF it does function as a POWER ON button but after that point it will only function as the BIXBY voice assistant button.TO ACTUALLY TURN OFF THE PHONE NOW versus before:You actually need to open your Android OS Control Panel and expand it to reveal the power symbol itself on the OS and then tap it.Only then do you get the options to turn off, Restart, Do emergency calls or medical info.If you do not like this and want to change the behaviour of the side button you need to access the side button settings so that you can the change the behaviour of the side button.

Being all sleek and shiny metal, it is slippery, I can see it sliding out of my hand very easily, maybe Samsung could have added some groves or something on the sides just so it is easier to grip, I purchased a case and didn’t use the phone until it arrived, as I was so scared of dropping it. The case has made an already large phone, even more bulky, large phones seems to be the trend these days.I have poor eyesight so was especially interested to see what Samsung have done in that regard, and I have to say that I am very pleased, there are lots of options to increase text size, both in the general menus and also commonly used apps such at text messages and WhatsApp. Even though this phone has QHD+ resolution at 3120 x 1440, given my eyesight, that is wasted on me. I like the fact that I was able to turn this down to HD+ 1560 x 720, this gives the added benefit of increasing the battery life.I’m very impressed with the battery life, I have been charging every 2 days, I’m not a heavy user, a few phone calls a day, some podcast listening and a bit of puzzle games daily.I’m disappointed that there is not a headphone socket, I know that the trend is for wireless headphones, but I wanted to use my current headphones, so have had to buy an adaptor that goes into the usb port, this works, but it means that I can’t charge the phone at the same time. I know this phone has wireless charging but I don’t have a wireless charger so can’t comment on that.Overall, I’m very pleased with this phone, and would definitely recommend to friends and family, I’d give a score of 4 stars out of 5, dropping 1 star for not including a charging plug, and removal of the headphone socket.Pros• Great battery life• Brilliant screen• Good sound from speakersCons• Easy to slip out of hand, really need a case to help grip• No charger included in box, jus a USB cable• No headphone socket on the phone

S24+, significant improvements
27 February 2024

I've been using my S24+ for a couple of months now. I upgraded from an S20+ which was getting past it's best with regards to battery and processing speed. Instantly, this phone felt like a superior product in my hand, in terms of how it’s built, certainly looking at it from the outside and the materials selection for the casing. The phone is also lighter and slightly different dimensions, it’s shorter and not a long as the S20+ but this is not to its detriment. The screen itself, the image/ graphics are clearer and crisper than the S20+ which I always felt was a bit disappointing. As it moves through the menus, it appears slicker and not as clunky. Setup on the phone was easy, and fast. It worked its way through the many apps I have installed with ease, the processor very up to the job, it wasn’t long before I was up and running. It has even connected simply and easily to all the other Samsung devices we have around the house. The AI features are cool, especially the circle to search which I’ve used many times so far. Some of the other features, like note and chat assist, are immature but will improve as it learns. The cameras far surpass the ones on my old phone, which was a constant disappointment. I was usually reverting to using my husbands S22 Ultra whenever we were out and about, to capture any moments as it would inevitably let me down or not produce a clear picture. The nightography is also significantly improved, I am looking forward to using this when we start doing all our Christmas traditions this year, to capture some stunning photos and memories. The extended performance and larger battery are excellent. I would normally have to charge my phone at work, half way through the day and then again in the evening but now it lasts all day and is still about 40-50% full at bedtime.Overall, I am impressed with this phone and super happy with how it performs, plus the new features which I’ve been able to use in my day-to-day use of the phone, since day one.

SO unhappy with this phone!
4 May 2024

I was so excited to get the S24+ after Christmas.... I've been a loyal Samsung user for over 15 years... however, this phone camera is the absolute worst I have ever owned. I just switched from the S20Fe and I am so grateful that I still own it, as I have switched back to using it. I'm locked into a 2 year phone plan with my S24+, but I am so desperate to have a decent working camera that I've had to resort to this option. Every photo on the S24+ is overprocessed and given that I take so many pictures of my family and children, the washed out, ghost-like, sickly appearance that the S24+ gives any skin tone is just unacceptable for a phone in this price range. I was a little disappointed with the quality of the S20Fe camera when I first purchased it: the selfie camera didn't have autofocus and I found that my previous phone, the S9, was so much better at producing quality photos that could be blown up and printed off for framing. We have 8×10 portraits all over our house from photos taken with the S9. The S20Fe produces decent photos, but I was really looking forward to an even better camera with the release of the S24+. I have never in my life been so disappointed. I have switched around all my settings, downloaded the camera assistant, and tried editing them through my paid subscriptions to various photo editing apps... the portrait pictures and skin tone quality are so so bad. Additionally, the battery life on my S24+ is terrible. I see so many reviews stating that the battery is exceptional, but I only use my phone for roughly 5 hours total per day (scrolling social media, taking pictures and videos, checking emails, etc.) and my phone goes from 80% charged to 15%. Overall, I've always loved Samsung's operating system... but I am so so disappointed with this particular phone. The camera is such an important component in my choice of phone and I've always been happy with the previous versions of the Galaxy S series.. I just cannot believe how bad the camera/gallery app is on this S24+.

Samsung S24+ is a must have phone

In my recent transition from the Samsung Galaxy S23+ to the S24+, I was primarily motivated by updating my phone rather than the expectation of significant differences between the two devices. While attempting to utilize the Smart Share feature, I encountered technical difficulties that resulted in freezing issues. However, this issue appears to have stabilized over time, and the battery now provides sufficient power to last an entire day without the need for additional charging. In terms of physical attributes, the S24+ is marginally longer compared to its predecessor, necessitating the purchase of a new protective case. One particularly impressive aspect of this device is its photo editing capabilities. These features have proven invaluable in a recent project involving the enhancement of old photographs, the removal of reflections from new images, and the overall improvement of visual quality.Furthermore, there have been noticeable improvements in the graphics rendering for gaming applications, accompanied by a reduction in lag.Additionally, the S24+ offers a convenient text editing feature that leverages artificial intelligence. By selecting text, users are presented with a range of suggested improvements, eliminating the need for downloading separate applications for similar purposes. All other aspects are quite similar, and it will likely require some time for me to fully comprehend all of the enhancements.

The S24+, Sleek and Powerful
28 February 2024

I have been using my new Samsung S24+ for close to 3 weeks now, and so far I have been very impressed.Starting with the unboxing experience, the phone comes in an understated black cardboard box, but as soon as you get inside the phone itself looks very sleek. After much deliberation I went for the Oynx Black and I'm really happy with how it looks in the satin finish. The S24+ feels great in the hand - substantial, but not bulky. I opted to purchase one of the cases Samsung offered as I am exceptionally clumsy, and it still remains comfy to hold.Be warned, the S24 series phones do not come with a power brick, just a USB-C cable as part of a plan to reduce e-waste. Thankfully you wont need to charge it often as the battery life it gets is massive; I am currently sat at 58% battery, despite having last charged my phone a good 34 hours ago. The wireless charging in my car, something my previous device lacked, is also fantastically useful. No more arriving after a long drive to see that android auto has wiped out half my battery life! The screen truly does look glorious! The 6.7" display is, to me, the perfect size to fit in the hand without compromising the ability to "one hand" the phone. With the massive 3120 x 1440 resolution it uses, the pixel density makes sure everything looks incredibly sharp. Colours are vibrant with deep blacks and a sensibly set screen brightness out of the box, even moving into intense sunlight the screen remains really easy to read. I have briefly tried watching HDR content and this only serves to take things to another level. The fingerprint sensor on the S24+ is embedded in this screen and not only recognised my fingerprint every time, but its exceptionally quick too, bordering on instant.I've only had limited opportunities to use the camera but the few photos and videos I have taken have been crystal clear, I have included one from a recent London day out, with the camera focussing extremely quickly and shots looking very natural, even in lower light environments.Lastly the AI features, I wasn't sure how useful I would find these, but the circle to search feature is surprisingly helpful. Seen an obscure image and wondered what it was? Just circle it and you'll likely know seconds later. The photo editing magic of just removing things is neat, but potentially needs a little extra polishing to be perfect.Overall, very happy customer, and the S24 is well worth considering if you are looking for a new phone.
