I had problems with Samsungs a few years ago, so for my last upgrade I went with an LG Velvet. I now fully appreciate the quality of the Samsung. I chose the S9 mostly because of the size. The Velvet was just too big. The S9 has a screen large enough to see everything, but the phone is small enough for a pocket or for my purse. It doesn't cause stress to my wrists when I text, and it doesn't fall out of my hands all the time.Samsung has several features that I really like: scheduled text sends, Samsung Health, and the fingerprint reader on the back that allows my hand to be in a natural position are among my favorites. I also really like the way apps are easy to organize. It charges really quickly, which helps. In a year or so, I expect that it may become enough of a nuisance that I'll have to think about whether to replace the battery or the phone. For now, I'm satisfied, and that's the most I've been able to say about a phone in the last 3 years.

I was happy with this phone so far. It's a bit of a downgrade from my aging Galaxy s model but to be honest I didn't see much of a difference between this one and the flagships. The phone quality is as good as the S models. It does have a plastic back but if you are going to use a case it's no big deal. The processor speed fits my needs. If you are a big gamer or social media user you may need to charge your phone more often. But for me even on my heavy Social media usage days I still have enough battery life to get me through the day. Overall the phone fit my needs. The cameras work well and take clear photos. The call quality is clear and I haven't had any dropped calls. I liked the option for the expandable storage as well. I will not that the phone does not ... MoreI was happy with this phone so far. I got my phone on 2 year contract with Sprint before the T-Mobile merger finalized during a President's Day Sale. After all the awesome discounts plus free Hulu with ads for as long as I have this phone, I ultimately got this phone for free plus got discount on my Sprint bill for the duration of the 2 year discount. No more bill discounts but still got my perks. This screen is tough! I can't tell you how many times I have dropped this phone while in its protective case which can't 100% protect the screen because of Samsung Galaxy screen curving up away from bevel giving it that vulnerable exposure. The absolute worst my phone survived was when I down a flight of concrete stairs, phone in hand with the case wide open resulting in the screen taking impacts from concrete. Battery life is OK. You have to teach this phone how to save power and manage apps which is a let down compared to the S7's device manager which performed way better. Not a fan of Bixby. She isn't bright for an AI assistant and is a dumb memory devouring program that leaves you wanting to use Google Assistant instead, because I swear no matter how times I update Bixby it may ask me to install more modules before it finally does a task I gave it. By the way, my Bixby ease drops on conversations but sleeps when I do say her name. Back to what I love... streaming Crunchy Roll, Hulu, Netflix, Disney Plus, YouTube, Sirius, and Spotify all worked effortlessly on this phone. Great sound and graphics and I can always blow the screen up large on TV with my family's Chromecast wirelessly. Bluetooth devices work great, even used an endoscope. Camera performance is at the mercy of Samsung software updates. At 1st I thought camera only a little better than my S7 but it is actually a whole lot better! Last few program updates unlocked true potential of camera. I even watched video tutorials from Samsung for achieving best results with photography with phone. Actually that is another nice feature is the new tips that occasionally pop up to teach you more about using your S9 and updated features. Looking to upgrade to S21 or S22.

It still checks off all the absolute essentials-- good call quality, loud speakers, good volume. And it still holds up relatively well in the "extras" department. Display is still gorgeous, love the flat camera on the back, and though it is just a single lense, it still takes photos that are plenty sufficient for typical use. Still snappy going through the UI, and still has a headphone jack. Stereo speakers are a bonus. I got mine in lilac purple and think it looks quite gorgeous. Slapped a Joker wallpaper on it to fit the purple color. Still holds up well against alot of 2019, 2020, and even some 2021 flagships.

Holy Shxt, this is the best phone I’ve ever owned. I dropped my phone near Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco around 6:30 at night, and hadn’t realized until I was already 30 min away. My girlfriend and I were stopped in a highway blockage on the way back because some guy improperly strapped his wooden furniture, the furniture falls off the back of the truck and wooden pieces go across the entire highway. We wait for about 20 min for the highway to clear. We get back to Ghirardelli Square snd I start trying to locate my phone by calling it and I doesn’t even go to voicemail, all it says is, “this wireless customer can not be reached. We look around the beach, park and parking lot and its nowhere to be seen. I try to locate it with Google find phone, and after about 10 minutes of trying to find the map that shows the location of my phone I finally find it. I see it on the map in the San Francisco Bay. My gf and I run over and look out into the water to see if we can find anything and she spots a faint light coming from the ocean. I dropped it in the sand and the waves carried it out 10-15 feet and into about 4-5 foot deep water. I take off my clothes and rush out to get it. As I pick it up, I feel it halfway submerged into the sand floor, sand running down my arms and hands as I hoist my phone out of the water. I run quickly back to shore and start rapidly drying it. I rinsed it off so I don’t get salt corrosion but it was submerged under the ocean, in the sand for about a total time of hour and half. As of right now (12:27 am the time I wrote this) the phones seems to have no problems at all. My favorite phone ever

!!! THIS S9 ISN'T DUAL SIM !!!
9 February 2023

From an objective point of view, I cannot leave a bad review because the product I received is in excellent conditions: brand new sealed, good packaging, the phone battery is good too and the phone works fine... but... I ordered and expected to receive a dual SIM phone as specified twice in the title AND details page of the product. From my experience point of view, I have also like many others been sent a single SIM phone and, this is an issue for me. At first I didn't notice it because there were 2 IMEIs on the box, but the bad surprise came when trying to insert my 2nd SIM in the second slot; checking the box again I realised the 2 IMEIs were actually the same number! However if the dual SIM slot is not important to you: go for it! Good product, good packaging, fast delivery. I hope this helps!

Great Phone that withstands the tests of Man&Time!
8 December 2022

Ive had this phone for years! Since it came out and I purchased this phone it truly stands the tests of time and man both!, I.E, It has withstood and endured countless hours of work and play alike as per scrolling facebook marketplace or searching for an endless array of topics or questions and the amount of which I've learned on a vast spectrum is undeniable, and its withstood being dropped from a 2 story roofing job to being in and out of my pocket while I worked as a Welder and fabricator to even being ran over, 3 times in its rough life! And Still, through all of those things plus countless more, it has taken everything that man and machine could ever possibly throw at it (including a kitchen sink!) Although that one, I was kidding about, But what isn't a joke ... MoreIve had this phone for years! Meets Our Needs at a Great Savings
9 April 2022

Replaced our landline and gave us access to the home phone no matter our location---should have done this sooner. Seamlessly ported our number (well as seamlessly as I think it can be done) and now enjoy the freedom of still receiving calls from family and friends without having them call a different number. That was not the primary reason though. My wife needed a cell phone other than her company issued device and this just made sense. Next step is to finally connect my Obihai 200 to the network and put Google Voice to work with a "secret" number that maybe will let us avoid spam calls for a week or two! As for the phone itself it's a great phone with a fantastic camera. We live in a metropolitan area so coverage is great. We will see how it works when we travel to the mountains. As for it being pre-owned it was in beautiful condition straight out of the box.

Overall, phone is good
30 August 2022

I purchased a refurbished phone. Expected it to look like it had been used before. Non-issue. After charging it overnight, leaving it plugged in while I set up the phone in the morning. Took it to work and Only listened to my music, via wireless earbuds. No phone calls, no surfing the web, just Music, listened for 2.5hours and my battery was at 65%. I called to inquire what could be done, "refurbished", I really expected the battery to be fully functional and keep a charge. Ultimately, the only thing that could be done is I was issued a $20 credit. It will cost $90 to get a new battery installed. Very sad, not happy with that one aspect.Otherwise, I am happy with the phone, takes me a little to get used to the functions.
