On the other hand, and just a FYI: first, if you are a fan & have excellent knowledge of the Android Operating System, then take it from me, do not settle for another different brand name while shopping & chosing for your soon-to-be Adult-own & usage only tablet that will soon cost you near a whopping 1,000 US-Dollars, this Samsung Tab S6 is "King of all tablets", period; second, if you are a fan & have excellent knowledge of Android's rival, then there is only one brand that your money can buy, and as a full-grown Adult like me too, you, obviously, already know what that brand name, currently, is, period. Moreover & leaving the introduction & all Great Memories regarding the "2" biggest Monopoly tablet brands of their own company behind us all, I will now turn to elaborate on the technical details, in my very short and my very own opinion & words, about this particular tablet, "internally & literally".1) The term "Rich and Poor" is define like this, by me, regarding tablets and smartphones. We humans, the family that we are born in to, will only be a Rich family or a Poor family. By telling you this, I trust that you already know what I mean. Now, as I switch over and apply this very same analogy to this Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 tablet, Samsung's very intellectual engineers have also created, both, a Rich model and a Poor model. This is my definition of "Rich & Poor", now, as compared to us humans: this Poor model is the "crippled" version, having only 4GB RAM and only 128GB Internal Storage, because as a human being, if a person is born in to a Poor family, he/she will never be able to afford all the very wonderfully created and manufactured materials in this world, nor able to go or "do" everything he/she wishes; now, this Rich model (the one I bought) is the "fully created" version, having a whopping 6GB RAM and a whopping 256GB Internal Storage, because as a human being, if a person is born in to a Rich family, his/her parents already live in a mansion, already have a private plane, and later, he/she can afford any material things in this world, and can go vaca anywhere and anytime he/she wishes.2) My secret to you, while reading my Review this far, and at the same time, stopped by and shop here, I do fully "Recommend" you to buy this Rich model, and after you have bought it, please remember to Love it, Use it with care, and most important of all, Protect it as you would protect your own "2" eyes and your "head". Please please, for Protection, do not forget to buy a screen protector from a 3rd party vendor and a case cover. Regarding the case cover, I also "Recommend" you to just support SAMSUNG, once again, and buy this tablet's very own and engineered Keyboard+Track Pad cover. Now, as you can see as to why earlier I've mentioned that this tablet will cost you near a Grand (after tax & recycle fee) is because the next "2" things are really a necessity, if you really wish to protect your very costly tablet. Now, knowing the total cost and value of this tablet, this is why earlier I've mentioned that this tablet should mainly be used by Adults. Ahem, there are "kids" tablets being sold for under 50 Dollars. That is the value for, ahem, kids.Conclusively closing, I, HMONGsanBER, do recommend this tablet to all you BestBuy shoppers. Most importantly, I do solemnly swear in the sight of GOD (right-hand raised) that I have not been paid by BestBuy to buy & write this Review, nor affiliated with BestBuy in any way, shape or form, and that I have bought this "Rich" tablet with my very own hard-earned money during this COVID-19 pandemic and have written this Review in fairness... from my very own experiences of usage, opinion, heart, and most important of all, Love :) :) :)PS: Don't forget to click on my "3" SS to see my exact Model & Up-to-date Version :) Peace & I'm out...

Frequency of having unintended thumb touches onto the active area by the holding hand's thumb are much higher with the S6. So that slightly smaller device size came with a cost that users pay that they experience as unintended erroneous touch commands. Only on certain very demanding work is the faster CPU performance advantage of the S6 apparent over the S4. But the improvement in the four (4) corner speaker system on the S6 over the S4 is to me amazing. The change was from good to very good in terms of how well it can be heard within a room. The KeyBoard option for the S4 has no touch pad while the S6 KeyBoard does have a touch pad. With the touch screen, one mightassume that having a touch pad as well would make little difference in terms of how pleasant the experience is. But at least for me, I have found that to be a feature which after experiencing it, one simply does not want to go back to not having it. Another big plus for the S6 over the S4 when teamed with their optional KeyBoards. The S4 rear camera has flash illumination capability which was swapped out an replaced with a second camera lens that's very wide angle of acceptance on the S6. That's a mixed blessing which some will prefer each solution. But the S4 has a conventional 3.5mm stereo audio jack that's simply missing on the S6. For me, that's a clear negative for the S6 vs the S4. On either you can drive audio through Bluetooth receiving devices including headphones, but I like my $300+ wired headphones better than any Bluetooth versions I've tried. It is possible to use the S6 only port which is USB 3C (rounded ends with no up or down side) to drive a USB adapter with a built-in 3.5mm stereo jack. We have a couple of them, one a 1-to-11 device and the other a 1-to-12 device, but they both eat Tab battery power fast enough that you are going to want to add a wired-to-wall USB power supply to keep them active, especially when using them to drive one of your HDMI flat screen TVs with your Tab. Those adapters eat so much power that they get hot after a while! Do I miss the 3.5mm audio out jack on the S6. Definitely yes. I'd rather have a little bump on the back side edge to enclose an "old fashioned" 3.5mm audio out jack than have it missing and be a few thousandths of an inch thinner everywhere. Probably more information than you wanted from a quick review, but those are some of my impressions -

Great Tablet, lives up to my needs.
29 October 2021

Had this tablet for a year now and it is pretty great and lives up to the expectations. This tablet has been pretty great to use for college as it fulfills a lot of things I wanted from a tablet coming from the IPad Pro.Few things I liked include: The screen type which is Super AMOLED. When using this for drawing or writing some apps have a weird zooming/panning issue.Overall, it is a good tablet for the price (also the pen comes with it too)!

Nice machine and excellent do almost anything port

I have never wanted a tablet due to needing a larger screen and a physical keyboard. I have all of the power I need in a desktop PC for daily use and also have two notebooks for other reasons. I decided to get a tablet for easy portability around the house and on trips where the larger notebooks were just too much trouble. I needed a powerful tablet that could be used for any purpose outside of typical desktop PC/notebook PC usage (although it can suffice for this as well for most home usages) and after a lot of research decided on an Android OS and the Samsung S6.I have not been disappointed. I needed a powerful tablet that could be used for any purpose outside of typical desktop PC/notebook PC usage (although it can suffice for this as well for most home usages) and after a lot of research decided on an Android OS and the Samsung S6.I have not been disappointed. This is a fine device for reading Kindle books (with the app), displaying YouTube how-to videos on our 65" 4k UHD TV, use as a dictionary, cook book, Internet movie video streamer or for any quick Internet lookup items. Power at your fingertips at any physical location. And with the proper Android app (Onkyo HF for me) and a proper USB DAC dongle, a fine sounding hi-res music player. I also have an Onkyo hi-res music player and a Fiio hi-res music player and this tablet sounds as good as both with my good quality Sony headphones or my Etymotic ER4 XR IE monitors or plugged into my Denon receiver. The sound quality is nearly identical between the dedicated hi-res players and this tablet. A Logitech K830 Bluetooth keyboard works well but the connection between the two is not necessarily automatic between power-up sessions. My only reason for a rating of 4 instead of 5 is due to the location of the USB C port at the bottom of the tablet in standard portrait location which interferes with connecting any USB cable and being able to stand the tablet up at the same time without having to fiddle around with the port connection location and the lack of a 3.5mm audio jack. Not all apps will rotate with screen location (when rotating the USB port to the top). And even if they do, the side buttons are now reversed which makes button operation less intuitive. I have two different typical cases/covers for this and neither help the situation. I have added a 90 degree port adapter to alleviate some of the stress on the port/dongle cable but it is not a fix and still interferes.

SOLID, RELIABLE AND DOES EVERYTHING I NEED.

This is my 5th Samsung tablet going back over 12 years. The S6 is obviously the best for the following reasons:1) It is as quick as any alternative out there, and that includes the latest iPads, (I know, as my wife has one).2) While my wife was being treated in Hospital just before the lockdown, I had to wait for 3 hours or more each week, and I used the S6 to watch a film using bluetooth Earphones. There was no deviance in voice and video, although with VLC player, there are adjustments if there were. Holding this tablet on my lap gave a similar proportion to watching a film on a 40 inch plus TV at a greater distance, and the battery held with plenty spare.3) The internal memory is more than enough for many films, plenty of albums and photo's, although there ... MoreThis is my 5th Samsung tablet going back over 12 years. Not much, but I have to say that at first I suffered as most forums state, that the cover is only attached via a couple of magnetic strips and can relatively easily come off - There has been no real answer to this except I simply ordered very similar magnetic strips from Amazon, (little cost), and put a couple extra on the cover - a word of warning here - you will only need an extra one and not two, as the two I put on made it very strong and difficult to take off - problem solved! Finally, do I recommend this tablet? Absolutely - oh, and I hasten to add that I have been given no incentive whatsoever for my review.

Solid bang for your buck

Great for production but not for being 'handy'Sound: room filling. Not quite like the ipad pro (2021)which could replace some home speakers but definitely loud, clear and reasonably 'bassy' for its size.Camera: meh. Standard. One thing i dont like is they went witht the portrait mode at the top instead of the side witch is stupid for tablets as you lose screen real estate and arent looking at the camera in landscape mode.Battery:it lasts. Not all day like they boast if youre watching a lot of videos but browsing and some videos, music it will live up to what you need. This recently got pushed out for its younger brother S6 lite which is pretty much self explanatory (stripped of amoled display and weaker processor) and the S7 series big brother which if you want all the bells and whistles you need to head to the s7 plus. My one big gripe is hobbling second screen. S7 gets it in the ui 3.1 update but we're at 4.0 and still cant do it on s6. Bigtime booooo as my 2013 samsung laptop and galaxy s4 could do. It only doesn't work because samsung doesn't want it to.

Still rockin' almost 3yrs now!
12 October 2022

I've had my Tab S6 since they first came out and still love it! it's superior to iPad for my use; OneNote, Office apps, media consumption, retro gaming. Great battery life, lightweight, pen very responsive. No sluggishness for almost 3 years now. When I first got it I had to use double-sided tape to connect the stand/keyboard mount. That's the only think I would change. Wish it was like the Surface where it's integrated into the aluminum back.

The Best Tablet for Android
5 November 2019

UNBOXING:As far as the unboxing experience is concerned, it’s nothing memorable, nor is it bad. Inside the box is the Tab S6, the S Pen, an SD-card ejector tool, a fast-charger, and some replacement tips for the S Pen as well as a tool to remove the tip from the S Pen.BUILD/DESIGN:As far as the design is concerned, color me impressed. The device is sleek & slim, and the placement and indentation for the S-Pen to magnetically attach and charge is intuitively placed. The tablet is a small form factor while also having a large enough display to be productive or enjoy some entertainment. I’m able to fit it into my small sling bag without issue, which makes it incredibly portable and convenient compared to a laptop for use cases where a larger laptop isn’t ... MoreUNBOXING:As far as the unboxing experience is concerned, it’s nothing memorable, nor is it bad. The tablet is a small form factor while also having a large enough display to be productive or enjoy some entertainment. I’m able to fit it into my small sling bag without issue, which makes it incredibly portable and convenient compared to a laptop for use cases where a larger laptop isn’t necessary.I’ve personally owned around 7 or so Android tablets, including ones made by Google, and the Tab S6 delivers the most premium design and features that would make iPad users happy, as well. You can also purchase a keyboard book cover separately which will provide you with a decent keyboard for using Samsung’s Dex software built into the Tab S6. Additionally, the keyboard book cover provides reinforcement to the rear side that adds a kickstand and also ensures that your pen won’t escape.DISPLAY:The 10.5” Super AMOLED display on the Tab S6 has a resolution of 2560x1600 and gets very bright and delivers vibrant colors, as expected from a Samsung-produced display panel. There are times where I’ve woken up and tried using it and had to turn the brightness down to the lowest setting but still found it to be a bit too bright for me.In the Display settings, you can select from “Vivid” or “Natural” screen modes as well as a Blue Light Filter mode to prevent harsh blue lights from causing eye strain—especially useful for long sessions of usage.Interacting with the screen is very snappy and responsive, but one complaint I have is that scrolling seems to exhibit some ghosting. This is only a 60Hz display, but with more phones and tablets starting to adopt higher refresh rate displays, it would have been nice to see that in the Tab S6. Despite that, this is still a great display for day-to-day usage and unless I’m nit-picking, I don’t have any complaints.AUDIO:The speakers on the Tab S6 are fantastic—my favorite in a tablet this size. If you haven’t had the opportunity to experience quad speakers on a tablet, the Tab S6 rivals my iPad Pro in clarity and loudness. You’ll want to use the Dolby Atmos mode to get the best experience, and I personally have not found a reason to turn it off during normal use.Unfortunately, there is no headphone jack on this model, and it does not come with a USB-C to 3.5mm dongle, so you will need to buy one of those if you intend to use wired headphones with the Tab S6.FINGERPRINT SENSOR:The fingerprint sensor on the Tab S6 is under the display much like Samsung’s latest smartphones. I have found that the finger placement and calibration is pretty important to unlocking the device. I have had to re-attempt quite a few times if I wasn’t deliberately placing my finger on the sensor in a way that would result in the best scan. I have mostly relied on their face-unlock which is less secure, but quite fast. That being said, humidity has declined in my area since I first set up the fingerprint sensor, so my fingers have been a lot drier and may be contributing to the issue. Either way, the experience hasn’t been terrible, but definitely not seamless for me.PEN SUPPORT:Samsung, as usual, is doing more and more to make their S Pen more useful for consumers. Firstly, this pen has been a joy for me to use. I’ve used pens on Windows 2-in-1 devices that are incredibly unreliable, but using the S Pen with the Tab S6 has been a joy. As a software developer and Scrum Master, I’ve had to take notes in meetings and had a company-wide 2-day planning event where I had to frequently meet with others to report status updates on my team’s plans as well as issues our teams have encountered. The S Pen made it easy to take notes during stand up meetings, and the size of the Tab S6 lent to my agility, rather than making it a cumbersome experience. While the S Pen could also be used for artists (as demonstrated by the included PENUP app), it’s not a use-case that I can reasonably cover. That being said, the PENUP app has a lot of uploads from other S Pen users that illustrate how well the S Pen can perform as a tool for artists.Additionally, the S Pen has a feature called “Air Actions” which allow you to use the button on the S Pen or wave gestures to perform actions in certain apps. The actions are pre-determined for the apps that support Air Actions, but you can re-map the gestures so that if you want to wave the pen right to go back instead of forward in Google Chrome, you can do so.Aside from the features mentioned above, there are other S Pen features integrated into Samsung’s One UI and many third-party apps that were designed to use styluses will work great with the S Pen.PERFORMANCE:If you know anything about the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, you’ll know that it’s been used in all the high-end Android smartphones this year. With this octa-core processor, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, the Tab S6 is blazing fast compared to any other Android tablet I’ve used. To put that in perspective, I actually enjoy using the Tab S6 as a media consumption machine as well as ultra portable productivity machine. The performance has been buttery smooth, even rivaling my 2016 9.7” iPad Pro in terms of the fluidity and snappiness of the animations. The Galaxy Tab S6 holds up very well for performance in a 2019 product. Considering how loved the Galaxy S10 is, it’s really no surprise since under the hood they are running variants of the same One UI software as well as the same processor.BATTERY:As far as battery is concerned, iPadOS has historically showed much better usage and standby time than Android tablets. While there are modes on the Tab S6 to conserve more battery, the idle drain is still disappointing compared to iPads. I can definitely get a full day of mixed use out of the Tab S6, but I always make sure to charge it overnight, as it will otherwise lose precious battery that I need throughout the day.WI-FI:Connectivity was originally a bit of a mixed bag when I first received the device, but a software update was delivered on Oct 4, 2019 (Version: T860XXU1ASJ1/T860OXM1ASJ1/, Security patch level: Sept 1, 2019) which has resolved any issues with Wi-Fi connectivity that I was previously experiencing across a multitude of networks. I recommend clearing your network settings and performing a restart of the device once the software update has been properly installed. After which, you can reconnect to your networks and should experience much more reliable connectivity without random disconnects.DEX:For the uninitiated, Dex is Samsung’s “Desktop Mode” for those who are more familiar with traditional computer operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) that have more capabilities for multitasking compared to a mobile operating system like Android. Dex allows you to open any of your Android apps in a Windows-like environment. It allows you to open multiple apps and use them simultaneously—and evn drag and resize your apps across the desktop much like Windows. You can even have shortcuts to your most-used apps on the desktop.Dex can be used not only with the keyboard book cover, but it can be used with any USB-C docking station that can use DisplayPort Alt Mode as its mechanism for outputting to a monitor.Once I got my dock working with the Tab S6, I pulled down the toggle settings, and opened Dex. At this point, I noticed that Dex opened up on my ultrawide monitor, while Samsung’s standard One UI was simultaneously accessible from the tablet. So you could use Dex via your monitor for more productive tasks while also having other apps open on the Tab S6’s display, if you so choose.I was able to simultaneously open YouTube, a web browser with several tabs, my preferred music app, and my preferred messaging app—enabling me to multitask via a tablet’s operating system in a way I’ve never experienced before, and that’s pretty incredible.CAMERA:If you’re buying the Tab S6 with the intent on using the camera, I’d say it’s competent. It’s not going to compete with flagship smartphones, but it certainly isn’t bad. It has dual cameras, but no flash, so don’t anticipate using it for low-light photos. That being said, the inclusion is great for those who might consider capturing a photo then marking it up later. I can see a lot of utility in that, so having a competent camera is an absolute must-have. But if you’re intending to use it as your camera for taking pictures and throwing them on social media, that’s your prerogative, not mine. For students and professionals, you will be glad that this is here, as you can avoid the hassle of transferring a picture from your phone to the Tab S6 in order to mark it up later.CONCLUSION:The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is the best Android tablet experience I’ve experienced to date, and it’s actually really good. If you’re the kind of person who really values the Android ecosystem and the features that Samsung is providing here, this is a great tablet with some caveats that you should consider. I’ve been putting the Tab S6 in my small everyday carry bag and have found myself using it not only for entertainment, but also for professional purposes with the keyboard book cover. It has saved me from using a much larger, bulkier device on occasions, and for those who are looking to travel really light with some capability to be productive, this might be right down your alley.
