Canadians, this keyboard ain't it. I regret having let time pass. Now, I cannot return this keyboard. The only pros I can give to this keyboard is that it works (?) and the split-up capability to separate the keyboard from the tablet, which is useful when I go from using my tablet as a laptop to wanting to annotate or getting more space on my desk. The cons: my biggest complaint is the layout. With all due respect, I don't know what was so complicated about manufacturing keyboards in different languages, so the customer can pick the one he/she likes the most. Now, going to the fact that we are in Canada; as an Allophone, I wouldn't mind having a keyboard that is EITHER in English OR in French. What really annoys me is the fact that it is multilingual. Now, going to the fact that we are in Canada; as an Allophone, I wouldn't mind having a keyboard that is EITHER in English OR in French. What really annoys me is the fact that it is multilingual. In other words, you have two different inputs in one keyboard. This means that the problem is not about Québec or Francophones, it is about not having created two different keyboard options. To give you a better insight, you will have to be clicking on the "Lang" key every 10 seconds to change the language input to write the specific symbols or accents you need, which extremely sucks. Moreover, there are some symbols that are switched (due to the two different inputs on the same keyboard, English and French) and they are not labelled, so you kinda have to guess where those symbols are because they are not shown on the keyboard. For example, if I'm typing in English and want to type and apostrophe ("), I have two options: switching to French input just type it using shift + 2 or sticking to English input and click on shift, and click on 3 different keys (guessing) till you find it. As I said, some symbols are simply not labelled. Now, after 5 months, I have had got used to it (otherwise, the keyboard would be unusable), but it doesn't mean that I like it, nor that it is comfortable. This experience makes me rethink about having bought my Tab S9+, which I reviewed too (with 5 stars), but I didn't want to bias my review on the tablet because of the keyboard. Don't get me wrong, the tablet is a very good product, but the keyboard definitely affects the tablet's experience. Also, a couple of things I did not mention: the fact that it lacks backlit doesn't bother me because I always work in bright or iluminated spaces and the trackpad gestures are not as responsive or as fluid as you would expect them to be, the trackpad sometimes does random double clicks which are annoying too.My conclusion: first, a tablet CANNOT replace a laptop. Second, if I had a second chance, I would have purchased a Tab S9 because I need one for my lectures in college and there's no loss in going from an S9+ to a S9 because the only big difference is the screen size (it might even be more friendly for gaming) and a laptop to do all the rest (apps fully optimized and a single input keyboard). The worst part is that if I was to buy a laptop, I could not recommend Samsung's because as far as I know, they all come with the same multilingual layout, so no matter how powerful, good looking and intelligent (AI) they are, this multilingual problem is a huge no for me. If they only fixed this basic problem, they would crash their direct competitor without doubt. A keyboard should enhance a tablet's experience... Hope my advice helps.

A Fantastic Stopping Point For Me

Tablets once had a lull for years where no one was really pushing their specs as hard as the cell phone industry was. It was surprising because on a larger display device there was ample room to pack in all the horsepower and then some. Samsung has consistently made great tablets for years; the Tab S6 and Tab S7 made it through our house, but when I saw the S9+, I saw the perfect opportunity to upgrade from my current 8.8 inch tablet. I have to admit, the 12 inch tablet is better to hold and view than 8.8 inches, but even better is the top notch current gen hardware married to Samsung's UI and that AMOLED display. I couldn't be happier, and I feel like at my age it's an excellent stopping point that should provide years of relevancy. My favorites of course are the fact that Samsung is coy about including the aptX codec on the S9+; in fact, I cannot find mention of it anywhere online (I have a device that an orange light appears when it is paired with a device that supports aptX, so it's definitely there). I use Quick Share almost daily between devices, even to my Windows PC. Samsung is brilliant creating that unifying service. I haven't had an opportunity to use AI, but for everything else, I couldn't possibly reccomend any other tablet. It really is that great.

It feels heavy and awkward after some time. I bet a different aspect ratio of screen would help that ... but also holding a 12" device in portrait mode may just never feel natural anyway. That aside, if you need a tablet and can afford this one, I don't think you'll be unhappy with it.

A giant leap in tablet capability

I have had this tablet for a month or two now, and can honestly say I use this tablet more than any tablet I've used before. I put it through a variety of tasks, from working on my other computers remotely to watching videos to reading comics. Make sure Dolby Atmos is turned on and you will be amazed at the sound that comes out of those tiny speaker ports. Sounds are rich pretty much throughout the full range, with no rattling or tinny sound at higher volume, despite the big sound. The tablet is super responsive and snappy. Touch is just the right sensitivity, with the option to adjust it a little. All apps tend to run wonderfully, and the touch keyboard is yet another step up with this generation and Android version.I can't recommend this tablet enough. It's my new go-to device. It would not be out of the question to call it a computer replacement for the right user.

Probably the best android tablet money can buy. Definitely killer in terms of android tablets. Amazing screen amazing speakers amazing battery life! Can't really complain about the tablet itself. Can you get a similar experience for half the price by getting last year's model? Absolutely, but you will be missing out on (possibly) warranty depending on where you get it and the condition, a few years of software updates and water resistance (which is something this tablet has!)And while i don't advise taking it swimming, it is definitely something to consider. As a previous tablet owner accidents happen and while i never ruined any of my devices from water it's always nice to have that piece of mind! (Especially if you like to eat while using your tablet i know how that goes :)The only complaint i have is the size being a bit big. But that is entirely my fault. It is just not as convenient to use when in bed like my previous 10.5 inch TAB S6 was. But that is my problem and i don't regret it as i prefer this tablet for watching videos over my S6 when sitting up as i have a smart folio cover with a stand (if you have a keyboard case this will also give you a significantly better experience) I still use my S6 mainly when I'm laying down in bed but i definitely prefer the S9+Would i say it is worth the difference in cost considering how cheap you can get the S6 nowadays?Really depends on you. If you can afford it absolutely. If your budget is limited getting an older tab while saving all that money definitely the way to go.While the difference in experience is better, it is not 4-5 times the price difference better unless you really can afford it. And if your can it is most certainly hands down one of the best android tablets the market has to currently offer.I got mine as a gift for my birthday but i am trying to be honest with my review. I appreciate it if you've read this far!

Great tablet for everyday use

This is a robust and all around good tablet with a variety of apps. As a student and research assistant I make use of it in many ways, from the Microsoft suite used in just about all ways to fusion 360 project view where I can view creations by the lab. I do wish there was an editing version of fusion, but that is not on samsung. I'm sure the device can support at least limited editing.I also have a tablet for my 4 yo daughter, who uses it mostly for writing and drawing when traditional writing and drawing is not feasible, like during travel. Using the S pen is easy, and works amazingly well. Notes is a great app that comes with the device and can be used for a plethora of tasks. Parental controls work well also, although you have to do some linking process, which, IMO, should not be required and is a bit of a nuisance. It's quite sturdy as well. I've dropped it from high a few times and only have a small chip at one corner. I have a tempered glass screen protector as well as a keyboard case offersing limited protection, but am still surprised the damage wasn't worse when I saw it fall and heard the gruesome sound as it hit the pavement...Anyway, overall its a great device and think it deserves a bit over 4/5, but there aren't options for it. It needs some improvements in settings organization though. It's sometimes difficult to find the setting you want and others don't exist, but should.

Great tablets with a few exceptions.
10 January 2024

I've used this tablet for about 1 month now for school, mostly note taking and media consumption. I bought the beige color with 512GB and 12GB of ram, with the keyboard case with the track pad. The color is more of a white/silver than beige, the device comes with a pen but no chargers. I would recommond buying a 45 W charger. Performance has been great very fast with minimal lag. The build quality is mostly great besides the very disappointing vibration motor, it feels very cheap and it sounds like crap, but you can disable it. The keyboard has very mixed reviews in Canada. Firstly for the price I feel like it should be back lit like the ipads and the S9+ ultra. Firstly for the price I feel like it should be back lit like the ipads and the S9+ ultra. For Canadians the keyboard only comes in the french layout, this is not a big deal if you are a decent typer as some of the symbols on the keys have moved locations. I personally don't find it annoying as I don't need to look at my hands when typing. Other than that I am pleased with the keyboard so far espically because I like using DEX.Moving onto the device it's self, I was surpised that it can only record 30 FPS videos on 1080p which seems odd for a flagship tablet, but this is not a big deal as no one records video on tablets. The screen is amazing but due to it being 120 HZ the battery life isn't the best. It has gotten me full day battery use with ease but I wouldn't be too confident with it lasting 2 day for my usage. Yes I could lower the refresh rate to 60hz but 120 HZ looks and feels a lot better. Additionally playing videos games espically big ones will drain the battery quite a lot depending on how demanding your graphics and FPS are.At the end of the day I am still very happy with this purchase, this tablet seems way above the other andriod tablets and is narrowing the gap between Ipads.

No Regrets

I got this tablet as a replacement for my Samsung chromebook that has reached it's EOL. And I have no regrets so far. It's powerful, coming with a video editing software pre-installed (it's 20 bucks for a lifetime liscense, which is much better than most competitors), and it's not struggling with that. I'm even able to have a side by side window open with it and the tablet doesn't slow down. The only issue I've run into is some apps and websites don't recognize that I'm using a Chromium based browser, but I think that's just a limitation of tablets, not this specific tablet itself. It's been able to do everything else I ask of it. It also connects really well to bluetooth things, connecting to the keyboard and mouse perfectly fine, and it connects to my Buds3 ... MoreI got this tablet as a replacement for my Samsung chromebook that has reached it's EOL. It also connects really well to bluetooth things, connecting to the keyboard and mouse perfectly fine, and it connects to my Buds3 smoothly as well.I haven't really tried the Galaxy AI on this specific tablet, but the tablets use the same operating system as galaxy phones, and it's been working really well on my phone. Since I'm not doing a whole, crazy, lot with the tablet, I just haven't had a need for the Galaxy AI yet. Only thing I've really used is Bixby to look up recipes in the kitchen but that's about it. Nothing too difficult for Bixby to handle.Screen size is good for what I use it for. Not too big where it's hard to lug around the house, not too small where having side-by-side windows open is an issue. Would definitely recommend for people who want a little more power in their tablet.

Recommended - Good keyboard cover for productivity
13 November 2023

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 9+/FE+ Book Cover Keyboard is a great accessory. Good: (1) Light Weight compact profile, (2) protected and removable storage space for the S-Pen enabling a fully charged and ready S-Pen, (3) handsome folio appeal and, (4) fully functional keyboard. Bad: (1) In contrast to S7+ and S8+ keyboard cover slim, the storage slot for the pen no longer follows the keyboard leaving a feel of a less stable keyboard cover when seated on the lap - the back feels like it dips as opposed to remaining a solid component. (2) Material picks up finger prints easily. (3) Only 1 viewing position. (4) Cover does not protect outer edges or corners of the tablet. (5) No backlighting for the keys.Bottom Line: Recommended. Despite the noted deficiencies, the book cover keyboard slim performs as advertised and serves as the basis to enable productivity. Pair this with an external blue tooth mouse or utilization of the S-Pen and you've converted the tablet into a a fully operational workstation. What would make this tablet great is protection on the corners, back lighted keyboard, and return of the optional storage after the keyboard without removing the protected S-Pen charging storage.
