The S9 Ultra looked and felt really big and at first, I didn’t think it would be comfortable using it as a tablet. Fortunately, I was proven wrong thanks to its well-balanced and well-weighted design and relatively low weight (~1 lb). Even my 8-yo daughter was able to use it without any issues. Samsung performed a minor miracle making a tablet this powerful and feature-packed, while packing in a big battery inside such a svelte device with minimal bezels and solid and rigid in-hand feel. The second big wow came from looking upon the big and gorgeous 14.6” OLED display. Samsung is really the king when it comes to beautiful and vibrant screens, and the S9 Ultra’s display truly outshines pretty much all the competition. The adaptive brightness feature works seamlessly and well, as does the adaptive motion mode, which automatically adjusts the refresh rate up to 120Hz for buttery smooth transitions and animation effects. The third wow came from using the S-Pen and all the cool things that’s possible with it. There’s a bit of a learning curve, but the S-Pen can do more than just write and draw. Via Air Command, one can quickly access up to eight of your favorite apps from any screen, and with Air Actions, the S-Pen can be used as a camera shutter button, media playback controller, and a wand to perform air gestures. My 8-yo daughter really enjoyed using the S-Pen for coloring and drawing her cartoon doodles.Another notable highlight is the quad stereo speakers that sounded better than any laptop speakers, and the best I’ve experienced from a tablet. With great audio and a beautiful display, the S9 Ultra is the ultimate device to binge on Netflix and Youtube videos. With that said, there were some things I felt Samsung could’ve done better for a product in this price range. For one, Samsung should’ve provided a wall charger instead of providing just a cable. And second, some form of protective cover or case for the glass-heavy tablet would’ve been nice. They are minor knit picks, to be sure, but those things would’ve been a lovely touch.=== Performance ===Thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SOC, 12GB of RAM, and solid state storage, the S9 Ultra runs very fast and snappy with smooth transitions and animations. I’ve been a long-time iPad user, and the S9 Ultra is just as smooth, snappy, and performant.Samsung’s OneUI Android skin, which is practically identical to OneUI from Samsung phones, is well-optimized and snappy on the S9 Ultra tab – no jankiness, micro-stutters, and lag.Samsung is already well-known for their multi-window and multi-tasking capabilities from their phones and previous tablets, and the S9 Ultra continues that tradition and does not disappoint. On a big display like this, split-screen multi-tasking totally makes sense, and it saves time and increases efficiency. The facial recognition unlock works really fast, and the fingerprint sensor, when it’s not acting wonky, also works well. The front and rear cameras are also very satisfactory and take good pictures and videos.Whatever it is you’re doing on the S9 Ultra – reading, watching movies, listening to music, editing photos or videos, playing games – it can handle everything you throw at it with ease and aplomb.=== Is it worth the coin? ===Yes, if you want the BIGGEST and the BEST Android tablet experience. Samsung has invested a lot of time and money into their hardware and software endeavors throughout the years, and the S9 Ultra tab is the culmination that showcases Samsung’s prowess in several departments – design, display, audio, Android OS, and digital pen. I rate it a solid 4.5 Stars.

You have this beautiful OLED screen with HDR but google own service for watching movies does not do HDR and several apps don’t do either like Disney plus. Which is a big shame because the screen looks great when watching a movie in hdr. There is no charger in the box it does have a cable but no brick, no the end of the works but for such a high end product having a charger would be nice.It does have expandable memory which is very convenient and helps out if you have a lot of movies or work to save.Overall I really like this tablet and it’s by far the best Android tablet ever. I hope Samsung and Google continue to improve the software for tablets because it’s the one thing holding them back to really compete in this space.

I love the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, I just find it a very minor upgrade coming from the Tab S8 Ultra. If you have a Tab S8, I would recommend waiting for the Tab S10 to be released 1st.I find that the Tab S9 series to be a much better tablet option for me than a iPad, I've owned iPads and iPad minis, and always gave the iPads to my kids. They never impressed me enough to use them aas a daily driver. The Tab S9 Ultra does everything well from gaming, to multitasking, to photo editing.... It's like a handheld laptop, it's just plain massive, and gets heavy after a while. I would be sure to get a case with a kickstand. I do like that Samsung still offers a micro SD card slot for they're tablets, since they have removed the option for they're phones..All in all, I highly recommend this Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. It is definitely a beast of a tablet, just like it's price tag.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is Samsung’s largest tablet out of its newly released S9 lineup. This tablet is aimed as a laptop replacement based on its sheer size and performance specs, while also looking at the professional market with its included S-Pen for productivity tasks. I have gotten a decent grasp of some of the features – face unlock, fingerprint reader, and the S-Pen were all new to me. I’ve used it to stream Netflix, play on Xbox Gamepass XCloud, run my Google Home suite of devices, and do a little bit of art.My experience with the S9 Ultra has been positive. I was surprised at the speed and snappiness of switching and launching new apps. Having several apps running in the background didn’t seem to slow it up at all. About the only time I could get it to push its limits was during some XCloud gaming sessions. The connection to the XCloud was seamless, and connecting my Xbox controller was no issue. I played Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order and Back 4 Blood while connected to my 6E router. I had a great connection to the service and experienced really smooth gameplay. It was honestly pretty great, but if I had a bunch of apps running in the background I would experience a bit of input lag. However, if I was going for a serious gaming session I would make sure to kill any extra apps like this.Using the S-Pen was a breeze. It magnetically connects to the black section on the backside of the tablet. It sticks to the backside with the tip facing either direction, but it sticks the best with the tip closest to the camera. This area also charges the pen while it is attached there. I did some light drawing and writing with the pen, and found it to work really well. It was accurate and responsive to my inputs. Screen tracking with the pen is well managed.Using the tablet I have noticed a number of things to note. Due to the size and dimensions of the tablet, it can be worrying to use while walking around. I honestly live in fear of dropping the tablet while trying to use it one handed – I can’t imagine not springing for a case or cover in the very near future. The tablet dimensions are impressive to me – the size of the screen paired with the thinness is amazing in my eyes. It’s thinner than my phone for crying out loud, and I thought my phone was pretty thin. The thinness makes me think that if I add a cover/case then it still won’t be all that bulky.Sound quality out of the system speakers was surprisingly powerful. I was thinking that it would be closer to my phone speakers, but it had a lot more kick. Sound quality was good as well. The speakers were clear even at higher volumes. Bass reproduction is lacking, but that is to be expected out of a thin tablet. Watching a movie on Netflix I was perfectly OK using the external speakers.Overall, the S9 Ultra is an amazing tablet. The size alone is worth the look. Feature wise it has everything that I would want out of a flagship tablet – 6E WiFi, terrific front facing cameras, crisp and clear Super AMOLED screen, expandable storage capacity, and S-Pen. I would absolutely recommend a folio cover or case though. I can’t imagine going for much longer without investing in one.
Had the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra for about a week now and it has continuously impressed me. It keeps showing me new ways to use and utilize it. I am very familiar with Android and have always been team Android. Samsung has only recently won me back over to their product line. And clearly they have stepped up their game and this tablet is a winner. Ultra thin, SD card expansion, Atmos audio, battery life, powerful processor and plenty of RAM to multitask. It's quite bit more than just a massive phone. So, initially I set it up similar to my phone and all the regular social media, media consumption, internet and gaming stuff is here. It's beyond that where you can make use of the Ultra or even the other smaller S9 tablets in the Samsung lineup if you think the Ultra is too much. Multitasking on the Ultra for adults is possible. Larger screen for large fingers and older eyes is much easier and more enjoyable. Oddly, some apps are hidden for some reason (not in app drawer) and only reveal themselves when you use the tablet enough so that it suggests a new capability. One hidden app it revealed is "Daily Board". This app has been a favorite for me. It's basically an AOD (always on display) type app or Screensaver function. Many ways to use, clock, slideshow, weather. But for me it let's me have my music app always up and usable without the need or worry of screen burn-in or always needing to re-wake the screen. Not a huge thing for most, but it's a superior feature for me. And of course there is DEX. DEX gives the familiarity of a PC like layout for those who prefer a more Windows like experience. It is very nice having this extra built in feature. It is still Android, but for many it might make using a tablet for productive apps that are more than Candy Crush easier. Still learning and looking into what else it can do.Overall it's been a very favorable experience using the tablet. The S pen is very user friendly and fun to use. Battery life is well beyond what I though was possible for a device so light with so much beautiful OLED real estate. Five days use before I needed to charge it back up with moderate daily use is amazing. My only gripe so far is that they don't include even the most basic folio cover. There are covers available from Samsung and the aftermarket is still ramping up since the previous ultra tab was slightly different in the camera shape. I am sure future promos will include some sort of cover to protect this device will become mandatory for the longevity of the tablet.
Preface: The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is not only one of the best tablest that I have ever used but it is also the first and ONLY tablet that I have used capable of replacing a laptop. The packaging of the Galaxy Tab is a typical premium hard stock. Included in the box besides the literature, is the tablet, S-Pen and charging cable. Unfortunately, the charging brick is not included in the box. I ordered a 45W Samsung brick that also includes a larger charging cord. It took me about an hour and a half to charge the tablet from 0 to 100%. It offers quick charge with a 45W charger which is an amazing feature to have for a tablet, especially when traveling. The Screen:The tablet has an AMOLED screen that is just strikingly beautiful. It offers quick charge with a 45W charger which is an amazing feature to have for a tablet, especially when traveling. The Screen:The tablet has an AMOLED screen that is just strikingly beautiful. The colors are extremely vivid and the display is very bright. It is just remarkable and easily the most beautiful display that I have seen on a tablet. Watching content on this screen is a delight. The Speakers:The tablet has very good speakers. They are nice and loud but they are far superior when you enable Dolby Atmos. The Dolby Atmos gets extremely loud and sound far superior when enabled. When watching content or listening to music the sound is just fantastic. The Tablet Experience:Currently the tablet is running Android 13 One UI 5.1.1. Despite the size of the laptop being 14.6" it is quite nice to use as a tablet. The big screen really offers a lot of advantages when used as a tablet. Watching content is amazing, workflow (more on that below), note taking, multi-tasking (more below), reading, etc is just a joy. Holding the laptop with two hands is quite cumbersumb but it has not annoyed me. I also have this tablet in a Samsung Book Cover Keyboard Case and when detaching the keyboard, I stand it up at a pleasureable viewing angle either on my lap or on a table and it really is nice. Although android has its limitations (not every app is fully optimized), it is still a remarkable do everything tablet. The S-Pen:The S-Pen is extremely comfortable and well proportioned. The pen writes really well and does not feel like you are writing on glass (which is far superior to the competitor). I have enjoyed taking notes and multi tasking reading documents and taking notes on them. The Laptop Replacement:I have tried many tablets, especially the premium competitor tablet, and I have never had a true laptop experience like this one. Samsung DeX might be the greatest work flow UI that I have ever experienced. While using the keyboard and putting the tablet in DeX, I am able to multi task with a desktop viewing experience as well as having multiple tabs open. I have been using this tablet for almost two weeks now as a work laptop replacement and it works expectionally well. I can also use a remote desktop app to remotely access a desktop computer and it works flawlessly. The fact that I can connect the keyboard or remove it and flawlessly go between tablet mode and DeX is such a breeze and a wonderful experience.I also would like to just add that the Samsung Book Cover Keyboard is a fantastic product. The Keyboard itself cost almost $400 after tax and while it is very expensive it really is a wonderful product. The case and kickstand that goes on the tablet is an extremely sturdy magnet that needs a lot of force to remove it. The S-Pen is very cleverly kept safe behind a fold in the case. The Keyboard itself is extremely well made and a breeze to type on. The trackpad is also very nice to use and also included is a full function keybar and easy access to finder and DeX. Also, I am currently writing this review with the tablet on my lap. While most have said lapability with the keyboard case is a challenge, I have had the oppositie. It is secure on my lap and extremely comfortable to write on.Overall, this is an incredible product. It is a true laptop replacement for me and it is one of the best products that I have ever used. This is going to be my main use product for work and pleasure for the forseable future and I wouldn't change a thing about it.

I have an older samsung galaxy tab S6 that I was looking to replace when the newest versions from samsung were announced. I jumped at the chance to get the galaxy tab S9 ultra! I was very excited when it was delivered. This tablet arrives in a long, basically flat box with very minimal contents. The only things inside were the tablet, the s-pen and an usb-c charging cord. Like I said, very minimalistic from a packaging perspective.Once opened, there is nothing minimalistic about the S9 ultra. This thing is huge, with a screen well over 14”. On the tablet, there is a power button and volume buttons. The front of the device has a camera that is placed in the optimal spot for use in landscape mode. On the tablet, there is a power button and volume buttons. The front of the device has a camera that is placed in the optimal spot for use in landscape mode. There are also four speakers, two on each side if you are holding the tablet in landscape.Start up was fairly simple but I did run into a issue. As I was trying to move my data/apps from the older s6 to this beast, using smart switch was giving me problems. For whatever reason, the s9 just would not connect to the s6 wirelessly. I had to use the usb-c cord to move the data. Once I connected with the wire, it worked as expected. Once I added on the slim book cover keyboard, this feels a lot and looks like a laptop. The screen is almost too big to use as a “tablet" but feels amazing as a “laptop". Actually as I'm writing this review on the S9 ultra, I'm auto questing in a mobile game I play. The multitasking in DeX mode works very well. I'm pleasantly surprised! This is the first time I've experienced true multitasking in a non surface tablet. I’ve been able to play games, browse websites, stream thru netflix/hulu/disney+, and use productivity apps. My 5 year old daughter wants this to be her tablet because “ABC mouse looks so good and sound better than on her tablet". Each task I've tried worked really well, looked great on the massive tablet screen, and also didn’t kill the battery right away. The samsung galaxy tab S9 ultra is an amazing device. It can do basically anything you'd want a full PC to do in a tablet form factor. It has high end specs with its superfast new processor, a beautiful large screen, a battery that has plenty of juice, and is compatible with the most advanced wifi standard. While I wouldn’t recommend buying this with the intention of using exclusively in a tablet/portrait mode, as its just too big for that, I definitely fully recommend the s9 ultra for any & all of your entertainment/computing needed. Samsung hit a homerun with this entry in the galaxy tab family.
