I've really liked the watch 7. The performance improvement is massive compared to the watch 5, interacting with the watch is smooth! You can do a lot of customization to the watch face, so play around with the settings if you get one. I think the design is clean and looks good, but I do wish it had some sort of physical turning knob so you don't always have to touch the screen; however, there is a gesture feature so you can double tap your index and thumb to do simple actions like clear a notification. Other features I use all the time are BP which is accurate enough compared to my BP machine; the body composition seems fine, it's consistent enough to be used to track your progress; the sleep tracking is amazing and now gives you blood oxygen and temperature tracking; the ecg is interesting, but not useful unless the watch can constantly monitor for afib which it does not, at least in Canada; there are some features that I think are half baked like AGEs and stress, currently I just don't see what value they provide; watch OS is nice, I love that there is an Audible and a YouTube music app so I can connect my headphones and go for walks without my phone. I'm sure given time Samsung will increase the capabilities of the watch with the new/improved sensors on the watch, especially this AGEs data maybe one day the watch can monitor blood sugar, that would really be cool! Anyway, last thing I'll mention is the battery life, it's better than the watch 5, but it varies greatly depending on your AOD and exercise/GPS usage. Generally speaking though, I get through three sleeps and need to charge the next morning, but note this is with no exercise, daily body composition, notifications turned on, and AOD off. The battery is fine, but there is still room for improvement. Overall, I'm glad I updated to the watch 7!

I got this thing about 4 days ago to upgrade from a Fitbit. The first thing I realized that all of you reading might already know is that this is a completely different class of product than a fitness tracker. This is a smart watch which has a lot more features than basic fitness tracking up to and including a constant LTE connection. The build quality, accessory ecosystem, and functionality are all mostly great. It definitely feels like it's a step above the fit and finish of even Fitbits which are well known brands. It can track pretty much everything that a Fitbit charge 6 can and more. The screen is surprisingly clear and even when dimmed still pops with color and contrast. Those are all the good things. Now for my main and only issue and how I solved it. The screen is surprisingly clear and even when dimmed still pops with color and contrast. Those are all the good things. Now for my main and only issue and how I solved it. The LTE connection, get texts and calls to your watch, stay connected constantly for up to the second live updates, etc. etc. The only problem is that while you CAN do this, it will decimate your battery. With every power saving feature enabled BUT LTE on (that is battery saver, Bluetooth off, AOD off, Wi-Fi off, dimmest screen possible, health tracking off, and a barebones watch face) My battery drained by nearly %15 an hour, which is clearly no sustainable if you work even an 8 hour shift. This battery life on a device that is supposed to stand in for a watch, or even a fitness tracker would be completely unacceptable. My solution, which dropped my battery usage down to %2-%3 per hour, a much more acceptable range, was to turn on airplane mode the majority of the time and then only turn it off once or twice a day to sync or when I specifically want to use LTE features. This is not ideal as it obviously disables a couple of the main features of an LTE enabled watch like receiving texts or calls and constant connection to your phone. However for my use case it turns the product from basically unusable to totally fine. All other things being equal or better I find that this is a totally acceptable product, I wish Samsung would release an update allowing you to more deeply customize syncing and features outside of airplane mode (to my knowledge right now the LTE configuration begins and stops with on/off) so that I could set it up to not constantly connect but rather automatically sync data every 30 minutes to an hour and completely disable more connection heavy features like constantly checking for new calls/texts. In this way I could not even have to worry about syncing but also have usable amounts of battery life for 1-2 days.

The Samsung Galaxy Ultra is the most advanced smart watch I've ever had the pleasure of using. Before this I had been previously using the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, and this was showing it's age 3 years after release, as software updates had started to render the watch sluggish. There is no such problem with this watch as the 3nm (5 core) processor keeps this powerhouse running buttery smooth all day long. Apps load instantly and multitasking is a breeze. The design of the watch is considered and exact, with the titanium case feeling solid but also lighweight, which is impressive with how robust and well put together it feels. The ruggedness of the watch is evident and it has stood up to my lifestyle, and the case is yet to even scratch, seemingly very durable. The sapphire crystal display means that it is unlikely the screen will be easily scratched, and that was certainly my experience with the watch. In the regards to the display, the 2" AMOLED panel is so very vibrant. There is no problems reading this display, even in direct sunlight, which is so refreshing and unlike even many premium phone displays. The ability to read in direct sunlight is also helpful when either using it for exercise tracking, or following directions with Maps. The battery on this watch is one of the most impressive features. I didn't use it for sleep tracking, but even using it with the always on display on at all times I was still going to bed with over 65% of battery, despite taking it off charge at 7am in the morning. This is helpful for occassions when charging would be inconvinient and longevity is key.In summary, this powerhouse of a watch fully deserves the 5 stars I've given it. My only gripe with this iteration is of the premium samsung watch line doesn't have a physical rotating bezel, which given the price point I think it should've been included.

Having previously owned a Samsung Watch, specifically the Watch 6 version, I was very excited to try the 7th Edition with the touch input bezel rather than the physical mechanical one on the previous edition. The Watch arrived in excellent packaging, with every element being recyclable- I always appreciate when a company is doing as much as they can to reduce the amount of waste produced, and giving the ability for all packaging to be re-entered into the recycling system to be reused for another task once again. After charging the Watch, the set up was extremely simple and quick! I believe it took under 10 minutes from charging the Watch on to being able to customise it to suit your needs! After setting up your language options and a quick update/back up, you're free to personalise the watch face with some preset options- if those don't take your fancy there are also free and paid for options within the app store.Everything is easily accessible with a single swipe or touch of the side buttons- whether it's recording your physical activity, checking your notifications or even accessing your Contactless payment. The double-pinch is an interesting new feature I can't wait to try out, with the ability to answer calls or view/dismiss notifications it is an great addition to the already excellent features of the Samsung Watch collection.I am very impressed with the quality of data that is collected via Samsung Health, from my sleeping pattern to blood pressure- it ensures anything you wish to record you can and have it accessible to check up on your health as you go about your everyday life. Having an active lifestyle, it is important for me to be able to see if I am hitting my own goals and how my body is reacting- whether it's heart rate or stress. The watch strap is also excellent quality, very soft and smooth material that allows enough flexibility to ensure the watch sits naturally against your wrist. All in all, it is a very good quality watch with excellent features that provide that extra piece of Quality of Life- your personal health, your ability to keep in contact with your loved ones, paying with your watch should your card be buried somewhere in your bag. I would fully recommend this product to my friends and family, it is incredibly simple and easy to set up, personalise and use.
I'm not fit or sporty, actually I'm barely active, but that's something I'm trying to improve. So while the watch can and will track my gym activity as well as health stats it's not what I'm most excited about. That said, I'm almost 50 and just having been diagnosed with high blood pressure so I'm very happy to have a very easy way to keep a constant eye on it. The added ECG and other data the Watch 7 Ultra can generate will probably make my GP happy too when I next go in for my annual checkup.Anyway, I didn't get the watch to make other people happy, I got it to make me happy and it certainly does that. Messages and notifications are displayed clearly, I can load it up with music or stream directly to my earbuds, and with an LTE subscription I no longer need to ... MoreI'm not fit or sporty, actually I'm barely active, but that's something I'm trying to improve. Messages and notifications are displayed clearly, I can load it up with music or stream directly to my earbuds, and with an LTE subscription I no longer need to take my phone with me when I go out, since I can use Samsung Pay directly from the watch as well as make and receive calls and everything else that comes with a data plan. This watch is a fine way to reduce my screen time and social media doom-scrolling simply by leaving my phone at home, and this has had a positive impact on my mental health as well as being more present when I'm out with friends, while at the same time still being in contact and contactable. The only downside I have found is that it is a lot more expensive than the Watch 7 base model, but I have no regrets and wouldn't change it for anything since the size. weight and general feel is very comfortable to me. Perhaps more tellingly, I've been trying to upgrade from my ancient (for technology) Galaxy Gear S3 Classic for at least the past 3 years and no matter which watch I try I always go back to the Classic. This time however there has been no such desire and I'm finally happy with a watch that can do everything the old one can but better as well as the new functionality that wasn't available for the old watch. If there was one thing I'd like to see added it would be the rotating bezel, but the digital equivalent of rotating my finger around the screen is an adequate substitute and it's hardly like the Watch 7 is lacking in ways to control it. I suppose that it'd lose at least some amount of water resistance if more moving parts were added and I rather like being able to wear it in the pool as I start my fitness journey.
As a new dad, managing time and health has become more important to me than ever, and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 has been a solid investment for me. It's a comprehensive tool that helps me stay on top of my health in a clear and quick way to visualise, especially during these busy times. The watch's ability to perform an ECG and measure body composition has also been incredibly beneficial for tracking my fitness progress. Whether I'm spending some time in the the gym or just trying to stay active using the step count, these features offer detailed health metrics that are easy to understand, though I would like to know more about how it exactly is able to calculate this. The few negatives I have about this is that it would be nice if it came in a few more colours, as green is an odd choice, and that I did like the dial navigation some of the older watches had for times when the touch screen would be impractical to use (in the rain for example). To summarise, the clear screen, lightweight design, and overall high-quality construction make the Galaxy Watch 7 not just functional, comfortable to wear, which is a plus when wearing it to sleep. It's a perfect mix of technology and style, supporting my lifestyle in more ways than I anticipated. Highly recommended!
I’ve spent the past week wearing and tinkering around on the new Galaxy watch 7, and came away mostly satisfied with the newest smart watch offering from Samsung. The 7 is among the upper tier of the current Galaxy watch line, surpassed only by the flagship Galaxy Watch Ultra.I was offered the 40mm green case and sport band for review. I normally opt for slightly larger case size when I’m purchasing a smartwatch, but I like the sleek unobtrusive look of the 40mm case. It’s a nearly perfect size, stylish and doesn’t seem visually small or undersized, even on a thicker wrist. I also like that isn’t huge and utilitarian looking like some of the 46-49mm watches I see people wearing. The feel and function of the 7 is reminiscent of my previous Galaxy Watch, so it’s also familiar to navigate. The sport band is soft and comfortable enough for 24X7 wear. It remains comfy while working out and sleeping. The watch ships with a USB wireless charging base but no AC adapter. The OLED screen has great brightness, sharpness, and visibility, even in bright sunlight. Samsung offers numerous watch faces and customization options for the screen. Complications and widget shortcuts provide handy data and app access. Sound and vibration are both adequate for detectable alerts in even moderately loud environments. The Galaxy watch is quite easy to setup with an Android phone, especially a Galaxy phone. I downloaded the Galaxy wearable app, followed the prompts to set up and sync the watch, and went from unboxing to fully set up and functional in minutes. The wearable app allows management of the watch for firmware updates, tweaking system settings, adjusting personal preferences, changing face appearance and content, and accessing watch tracked and reported data like health and fitness. The Watch 7 has the usual phone interaction tools like texting, phone, remote control, mail, and companion watch apps. However, many people like myself are seeking smart watches well equipped with strong health tools. The Galaxy Watch 7 contains health and wellness features such as ECG, heart rate/afib alerts, SpO2 levels, sleep tracking, monthly cycle tracker, fitness and wellness tracking, body composition and more. The fitness tracking has been reliable as far as step count accuracy and properly recording physical activities. Fitness feedback offers coaching tips, encouragement, awards, and achievement milestones for hitting goals. The AI fitness enhancement offers more granular fitness tracking and feedback along with improved biometric monitoring for the heart and other areas, but is only available on Samsung phones. The Watch 7 has robust sleep tracking. It tracks individual sleep stages, heart rate, oxygen levels, detects snoring, and even detect if sleep apnea is present. Sleep statistics and stages align accurately enough with another wearable’s results and the watch 7 can help improve sleep, recovery and readiness through coaching.Battery life was an area of concern for me based upon early whispers I’d heard about the GW7. I have not encountered any shortened battery life issues and get a full day and night of 24x7 wear between charging. And even then, the watch isn’t fully depleted, I’m more or less topping off for the night since it’s worn 24x7. I could likely stretch it to a couple days 24x7 wear per charge but not much longer. I can only assume maybe a software update was pushed since that early feedback because I’ve had no issues with battery life whatsoever. I also have no issues with Bluetooth connectivity or NFC. I haven’t lost connection between watch and phone yet.The only downside I have encountered with the watch so far is that some features only work properly with Samsung phones. On the plus side, at least the watch is still mostly functional with non-Samsung phones and isn’t essentially useless like a certain model smartwatch is on a different brand phone. However, I strongly advise prospective buyers carefully examine all specs and compatibility with your current phone before purchase. I was going to buy a second Watch 7 for a close family member who was admiring this one but I changed my mind after discovering the much needed ECG won’t work with their phone without modding. Some people feel comfortable bypassing limitations through mods, but I’m not one of them. The Galaxy Watch 7 may not be a fancy as the Ultra, but it shares the majority of features that most wearers will ever use or even need. Aesthetically, the watch is just the right size and has an attractive non-boring design. It has so far been acceptably reliable, and does much of what the Ultra does but at a way more wallet friendly price. I don’t like that some of the features only work with Samsung phones, but that’s a Samsung decision. That being said, even though I checked that I would recommend the watch to a friend, I would only do so if they have a Samsung phone or don’t need the features that won’t work on non-Samsung phones.
The Samsung Galaxy Ultra Watch is a fantastic upgrade to my Samsung Galaxy Watch. The Ultra has such a smart design and super functionality. One of the standout features is the activity tracking. I’m impressed at the way it automatically detects my walking, running, and work-out activities. One of the main reasons I love the Galaxy Ultra Watch is the heart rate, calories burned, distance covered, and pace, monitoring features which allow me to keep track of my progress and set new goals. The health monitoring are my favourite features. I enjoy monitoring my sleep tracking, and stress management data. The health monitoring are my favourite features. I enjoy monitoring my sleep tracking, and stress management data. The sleep tracking feature provides detailed insights into your sleep patterns, helping you understand the quality of your rest. The stress management tool uses heart rate information to gauge your stress levels and offers guided breathing exercises to help you relax. The Ultra’s integration with Samsung Health allows you to analyze your performance, track your progress over time, and even participate in fitness challenges with friends. The connectivity with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and BudsPro 3 lets you listen to your music, receive notifications, and stay connected all whilst continuing your workout. One of the major differences between the Samsung Galaxy Ultra Watch and the Watch 5, is the enhanced display. The screen is sharper and brighter, with a higher res, which makes it much easier to read notifications on the screen, and track my fitness data. The Ultra Watch has an improved battery life from the Watch 5, I notice it lasts for several days on one charge which I am so grateful for particularly given my usage throughout the day and all through the night for my sleep activity tracking. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Ultra Watch is a significant upgrade from the Watch 5, with a better display, battery life, and connectivity features. The connectivity of the Ultra Watch with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and BudsPro 3 makes it fantastic for staying connected and productive on the go….I would not hesitate to recommend the Samsung Galaxy Ultra Watch to family and friends.
The first thing that stood out to me with this Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 is its aesthetics. The 40mm face size strikes the perfect balance between readability and usability without looking overly large, unlike some more utility-looking sport watches from other brands. The thin bezel helps maintain a premium look. I’m particularly impressed with how sharp the aluminum body looks and how robust and durable it feels. The watch manages to be both sleek and sporty. The AMOLED display is gorgeous and helps the watch stand out among the other watches I've used before—the screen is very bright, the colors are vivid, and the high resolution really helps with readability. The watch boasts up to 40 hours on a single charge, although I wasn't able to achieve that duration. As a heavy user of the watch's interface and apps, I find myself charging it nightly. Since I don't typically wear a watch overnight for Sleep Tracking, nightly charging isn't an issue for me. However, if you plan to use it around the clock, you might need to give it a quick charge midday. Fortunately, the induction charger refills the battery rapidly. This watch is packed with features, and while there is a bit of a learning curve, the interface is overall intuitive, and setting it up to your liking is fairly straightforward. Texting is straightforward—the keyboard is fairly small, but the touchscreen accuracy and responsiveness make it easy to use. However, if you’d like to avoid typing on the small keyboard, the AI-generated Suggested Replies are well done and often get the job done with just one tap.The seamless setup from my phone was a big plus—the watch automatically downloaded apps that matched what I had on my phone. With a plethora of apps available on the watch, it truly feels like an extension of my Android phone without any extra effort on my part. Customization directly from the watch interface is super simple, but you can tweak things even further with the Wearables App. It’s easy to customize the watch face, manage notifications, add apps and tiles, adjust quick panel settings, and more. Though it may seem like a small thing, I really appreciated the thoughtful addition of being able to flip the screen orientation and button layout (left or right) directly from the settings menu. The watch is not just great for day-to-day utility: the sports functionality is really solid as well. Being able to download Spotify playlists for offline listening during exercise is a game changer so I don't have to carry my phone with me when I got distance running. The generous 32GB capacity is plenty big to hold many apps and songs/podcasts. I connected my Bluetooth headphones to the watch and was able to listen to music while tracking my run via the Samsung Health App. The GPS connected almost instantaneously, and its accuracy was on par with my existing GPS-enabled sports watch. Pace and distance readings were very similar between the two. The summary page of the app is fantastic, displaying typical stats like daily steps, heart rate, sleep duration, etc. All this data syncs to the Samsung Health App on my phone, where it’s great to see the advanced metrics the watch captures—like time spent in different heart rate zones and specific Advanced Running Metrics such as Contact Time, Flight Time, and Vertical, with suggestions for drills and workouts to improve the subpar aspects of my running style. As a data nerd and avid runner, I absolutely love having these metrics plotted out and analyzed for my runs, and I’ll definitely be diving deeper into this data to level up my running game.
Having now used the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra for 24hrs, I am providing my initial thoughts on this product and will be sure to update if i find anything changes.First I will start by saying this is not my first Samsung Watch, having previously owned the Galaxy Watch 46mm and then the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro previously. This is my favourite out of the 3 and also my favourite watch Samsung have ever made thanks to the new premium design and even better build quality with the Watch Ultra being made out of Grade 4 titanium. At launch the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra has 3 different styles of straps sold directly by Samsung; Marine Band (grey one in picture - this is the one you usually get in the box), Trail Band (orange one in picture - received as part of a pre-order ... MoreHaving now used the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra for 24hrs, I am providing my initial thoughts on this product and will be sure to update if i find anything changes.First I will start by saying this is not my first Samsung Watch, having previously owned the Galaxy Watch 46mm and then the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro previously. This is my favourite out of the 3 and also my favourite watch Samsung have ever made thanks to the new premium design and even better build quality with the Watch Ultra being made out of Grade 4 titanium. At launch the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra has 3 different styles of straps sold directly by Samsung; Marine Band (grey one in picture - this is the one you usually get in the box), Trail Band (orange one in picture - received as part of a pre-order incentive) and the PeakForm Band (i have been unable to test this one). All 3 styles come in a variety of colours to suit. These straps all use a new connection system to attach to the watch, which i personally love as its easier than ever to quickly switch straps however does mean you are unable to use your current collection. The next thing i immediately noticed using the Galaxy Watch Ultra is that do to software optimisations and the new processor and higher ram that previous models, the watch is just overall faster, with smoother transitions when switching apps and also feels like the screen size has been increased massively (even though it physically hasn't) as the watch feels easier to use than previous models. Its also worth noting the Galaxy Watch Ultra uses a new sensor system with 13 sensors now on the back of the device, in my limited testing so far i have noticed this to be way more reliable and the watch seems to record information such as heartrate and stress levels consistently (in previous models i have often found gaps in the data). I also really like the addition of the energy score meaning i can quickly view each morning what my activity and sleep etc was lilke the previous day so i know what i need to improve.I am truly impressed with the build quality, design, the software integration and even the premium watch bands offered by this watch, this is Truly an Ulltra Smartwatch.
