The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series has been the most affordable foldable device in the market and an impressive feat of visual aesthetics and performance by Samsung. The latest Z Fold 4 does not disappoint and improves on most aspects from its predecessor. The 6.7 inches main display is a 120Hz Foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2x display that is bright to use even on sunny days. With foldable devices, the durability of the display is paramount, and Samsung boasted having up to 45% better durability for the Flip 4 display due to stronger ultra-thin glass and better display structure. The cover display albeit small at 1.9" has improved functionalities and widgets that you can enable on the display as well as access your Samsung Wallet. Similar to the flagship foldable Z Fold 4, the Flip 4 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8Gen1 processor that packs plenty of punch for the small foldable. It has also 8GB of RAM and either 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of storage space. Samsung has sped up the charging for the Flip 4 and it offers now 25W fast charging. They have also improved the battery capacity to 3700mAh so the battery should, in theory, last as much as 10% longer than the Z Flip 3 which already could easily get by a full day of active use. When compared to the Z Flip 3, the Z Flip 4 has a better battery, improved camera, more power, faster charging, better camera sensor and a slightly slimmed down form factor.

Despite all the negative comments I had received, I decided to try out the Z Flip 4. Some like to say I downgraded from my iPhone 13 Pro Max, but I find the phone has many similarities to the iPhone 13 Pro Max when it comes to quality. However they do have their differences as well. Camera quality, is much better on the Flip, it even picks up the dirt on my blinds, forcing me to dust TODAY! Because we can’t have dusty blinds. And you can fold the phone half way to take selfies in group photos with your friends, no more asking strangers to do it for you! Sound quality is a bit more sharp on the Z flip, and when I make calls people can hear me much clearer, I am not constantly being asked to speak louder. You can put in a code, use thumb print ID or Face ID to access your phone. Which I like that it has 3 options and have enabled all 3. Has Samsung pay for cardless payments, one of the features I used often on apple was the Apple Pay, so I’m glad I am not loosing that functionality. Fast to access anything I want to access and dual screen functionality. The screen is nice, I like that I can see better out in the sunlight with it then I could with the iPhone 13 Pro Max. I use to have to turn the brightness all the way up on the pro max, but this phone I don’t have to adjust the brightness to see in the sunlight. It’s also lighter feeling than my iPhone had been, and the screen is longer, however not as wide. I like that it folds and becomes compact when I need it to. Makes it more convenient for space in my purse. The only thing I have to say is a down fall is the battery life, I feel it doesn’t last quite as long as my iPhone, but I that’s what battery pack backups are for. Sorry to say I will not be going back to an iPhone any time soon, I only regret not getting the flip 5, because the screen is dual so when it’s compacted you can still read and respond to messages. Overall I give a 10/10 to Samsung they hit this one out of the park. Amazing phone, great details, and a little more superior than the iPhone 13 Pro Max in my honest opinion. I’m glad I didn’t take everyone’s advise to steer clear, most have actually never tried this phone, when I was speaking with a rep over the phone to get this phone shipped to me they had stated that many people are very worried about the folding design, and feel it will effect the screen later down the road, however the person I was speaking with had the original Z flip 3 and had said they still are using it and have not had issues with the screen. 100% recommend to anyone who wanted to try this phone and had been afraid due to people who don’t even own one telling them they are not good phones. You don’t know until you try! And I have tried and I’m absolutely in love with this phone.

It's very cool! I get a lot of people asking me about it. It feels weighted/sturdy without being heavy so it's not as easy to drop, has impressive camera quality and of course the flip function. It is a soft close so you can't snap it shut with the flick of your wrist, so I'm not worried about hinge damage. The screen is comfortable to hold despite its 6.8" size. The cover screen is easy to navigate (short tutorial provided) and gives you plenty of space to see your notifications. I've noticed bugs like with YouTube Music once I got this phone, it started skipping forward in the song, which my S20 did not do however this is probably fixable? The phone is super new so updates may take care of this hopefully. Also note the lavender option is pink with maybe purple ... MoreIt's very cool! I get a lot of people asking me about it. I like pink so I'm fine with it. if you want the same specs as their Ultra versions, you may be disappointed. I personally love the camera (and have gotten compliments on it) and I can wait until the end of the day before I charge this, but I've heard people point out that Samsung's other phones are more advanced like with a bigger battery, higher camera MP, etc but I don't think the average consumer needs super high numbers in those areas. I don't regret my choice at all and I actually think this phone is still a better investment than other models. It's hard to beat a touch-screen flip phone and everything looks great to the eye. I am overall pleased and I recommend. Will update if anything changes.

I wanted to like this phone. It reminded me of my old Motorola Startac, and it's a smart phone to boot. Since smartphones became the norm, I have always had the Google Nexus and Pixels, and had not changed brands until this came out. Surely I wont miss all the bells and whistles that I was used to with the Google phones, since I now have an awesome smartphone that is also a flip phone, right? Way too cool, right? Well, in less than a year, the non-user-replaceable screen protector started to peel from the center of the screen on my Flip 4. It came to a point that I was having a hard time to click anything in the middle of the screen. The job took less than an hour, but the tech said that Samsung has not responded on the approval to pay for the services. A less than an hour has taken 24 hours to complete due to Samsung's inefficient way of approving repairs. I usually do not change phones newer than 3 to 4 years, but this is the exception. I will go back to the tried and tested Google pixel lineup. I do not recommend this phone to anyone.

Received this phone brand new, and the only way this product would do amazing is if they worked on the overheating issue, charging and battery life.Within less than a year of having the phone, the battery was a major anxiety for me and I would freak out of I didn't bring a charger with me since I knew the phone would easily die within 3 or so hours. I emailed Samsung about this and basically got told to only ever use the phone off-line or do a factory reset. They did not want to help at all with this issue. The charging is also a major issue. This doesn't mix in well when you can't even use the phone for 1 hour without the percentage going down 30%.Overall, the product would've been amazing if these issues were worked upon. I will be buying a brand new phone from a different company soon as I quite literally watched my percentage go down from 19% to 7% rapidly within 10 seconds after a restart.
Really cool phone tbh. Its refreshing to see a company actually doing something different than releasing another rectangle with a slightly slightly better camera every year for $1,500. I literally bought it because I felt like I was buying the same phone every few years and getting ripped off. Its a really cool phone, especially for flipping it half way open and watching youtube while you eat or video calling someone, and even holding it sideways half flipped and using it like an old school camcorder at a concert or something. The only downside is that the screen is still doomed to crack no matter what you do after (in my case) 11 months of owning it. Thats really the only downside. Im sure they will figure it out in the future, but for now, the screen will fail ... MoreReally cool phone tbh. Get that insurance from your carrier, and plan on paying $99 to replace it in about a year. To me, its worth it. Im tired of buying the same Iphone over and over
This device had so much potential in my mind, in theory, so when I decided to trial it...I was quickly disappointed. Too bulky, for one. And not comfortable to the hand for one-handed use, and not always as convenient in the flipping open and closed as I thought it would be. And I'm also not a big fan of how non-Google Androids have competing software/apps that you can't uninstall and go with all Google-based ones, if desired. But to be fair to this particular model, the 4th iteration of such, it solved the screen protector issue by having one preinstalled/'baked' on, so you don't have to try to use an aftermarket one and have all the bubbles and wrinkles/issues with that. It did have great display quality but just OK battery life, in my limited experience. And like all Samsung phones I've ever had, there are many times where part of the phone gets super hot when it's processing a call or data. I never knew why that wasn't improved upon over the many years now. Same holds true with this one, I noticed.
Got this phone a couple weeks ago. So far it's mostly good, but there is a really infuriating issue. For whatever reason Samsung chose a strange screen ratio for the phone when fully open, it's not as wide as most and this causes issues where apps like Insta, X, etc etc will trim pictures and videos cutting off the edges to fit the screen.Spoke to Samsung, they blamed the app developers even tho they are the ones using the strange ratio. It would be a really easy fix to have an option for apps to open into a smaller screen with black bars top and bottom to fix this issue, just make it selectable for those that want it and those that don't.If it was the first generation I'd forgive this issue, but it's 2024 and this is the Z Flip 5, this issue should have been ... MoreGot this phone a couple weeks ago. I'm sure the fold has similar problems.
Great hardware and camera. The phone runs really smoothly for basic needs. However, the screen has a major issue.I have only been using it for a year but within the first six months, I faced the Black Screen of Death (BSOD).What it means is that when you open the phone, the screen is all black. The secondary screen is all black too.Sometimes pressing the power button or unlocking the phone thru with the fingerprint sensor on the power button will bring the screen back.If all else, fails, I had to restart the phone by following instructions from https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01001470/.I faced the same issue again, six months after the first one happened. So, in order not to go thru the same experience, I decided to get a new phone. This was my first Samsung flip phone and I had high hopes for it. I thought the 4th gen would have ironed out issues like what I described. Unfortunately, this will probably be my last flip phone, No way am I going to go thru this again.Anyways, if you do want to get this phone or any future flip or fold phone, get the extended warranty for it. It will save you alot of hassle.
I have only used the phone for 1.5 years and had to have the screen replaced once and now recently have the hinge came loose, making the phone unfoldable. I had bought it from JB HI FI who sent it to samsung's repair department and claimed because of a small scratch near the hinge that I wasn't able to be covered for a repair under warranty.I even suggested the phone to my colleagues at work to which, unsurprisingly, had similar issues with the phone. So I came here to express my concern with the poor design of the phone to anyone who is wanting to buy the phone anytime soon. PLEASE RECONSIDER. If you want to buy another phone, buy another phone that samsung has to offer or another android equivalent if you want to buy a phone thats worth the price.I was told ... MoreI have only used the phone for 1.5 years and had to have the screen replaced once and now recently have the hinge came loose, making the phone unfoldable. If you want to buy another phone, buy another phone that samsung has to offer or another android equivalent if you want to buy a phone thats worth the price.I was told that to repair my phone would cost me $700. For the initial purchase price and if I had fixed the phone, the total expenses I would have incurred for only up to 1.5 years of usage would be $2100. I ask you to please keep this in mind before purchasing the phone if you were thinking of doing so.
I bought two z flip phones by Samsung and within six months the screens broke and went black. luckily I had the insurance for them both but at a $100.00 a deductible charge per replacement and having to replace the phone over same hinge and screen issue's over and over again for the length of the purchase contract"s of the flip Z fold phones by samsung this is rediculous. DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME BUYING ANY OF THESE FOLD PHONES, ESPECIALLY WITHOUT ANY INSURANCE. YOU WILL REGRET IT! They should recall all these types of phones. Its very apparent that any folding phone will crack, bubble up, screens go black rendering unusable, requiring replacement. Built in screen protectors is part of the problem. If you drop even onto carpet any of these types of phones, hinges will ... MoreI bought two z flip phones by Samsung and within six months the screens broke and went black. luckily I had the insurance for them both but at a $100.00 a deductible charge per replacement and having to replace the phone over same hinge and screen issue's over and over again for the length of the purchase contract"s of the flip Z fold phones by samsung this is rediculous. These tainty phones break. For the price retailers want, THESE PHONES ARE NOT WORTH IT WHAT SO EVER!
