This fold 6 is one of the best devices I've ever used, and it is definitely one of the most cohesive foldable experiences available. But it is not the best, and it's such a shame. The focus on galaxy AI this year was underwhelming, and it shows within the community. Everyone agrees that ai features are useful but are not generational upgrades that should be the focus of a device launch. The reason the fold 6 is able to compete with other foldable phones is software; it has the best software available on the market hands down. I believe there should be 3 foldable released annually if Samsung wants these phones to be more mainstream. A cheap option, a standard option, and a 2k+ ultra that many would happily shell out for.Now on to the fold 6 itself, this phone is amazing from my limited use so far. Battery life can get you through a day, and the shape/size of the screens is at the perfect point. Galaxy AI makes productivity (the main use of this device) a breeze and so enjoyable. One UI is intuitive and gives you lots of control over functions and customization. The build quality is extraordinary and really shows how far this tech has come. This is the only foldable I can recommend for anyone looking to switch.

This was a great idea for a phone since i always wanted them to bring back flip phones. The phone does look cool and is a eye catcher but sadly there are more cons than pros with this phone. The most obvious con being that you can see the crease in the middle of the phone screen when using it, although this is not a true deal breaker it is still annoying to see and it becomes more visible with more light present. The phone has no headphone jack so using it for music well working out or running is not ideal unless you do not mind other people near by hearing your music. The battery life is alright but is not the best as it will drain pretty quickly if doing anything like scrolling through the internet for a while or watching twitch/youtube/netflix ect. The battery life is alright but is not the best as it will drain pretty quickly if doing anything like scrolling through the internet for a while or watching twitch/youtube/netflix ect. The biggest issues i have with the phone is that over time the screen protector WILL start cracking in the middle where the crease on the screen is and then air will start to get under it and the screen protector will now not only have air bubbles in it but will also start pulling off the screen, when this happens (and it WILL) you HAVE to have it replaced since using the phone without it will ruin the screen due to it not being a normal screen. It was and may still be very HARD to get a screen protector replacement for the phone since most places seem to be out or running very low due to some issues with Samsung. (This is what i was told) You also can NOT replace the screen protector yourself as it is NOT a simple install like a normal screen protector is, you will also Void the warranty on the phone if you do this!!! Since the screen is not like a normal screen and is more of a gel like screen you HAVE to be VERY careful when the phone is not shut because any type of sharp object or even a finger nail can and will damage the screen leaving a dent like mark. The hinge area on the phone can also become damaged if you are not careful with the phone. Over time you may notice what seems to be lag occurring with the phone when trying to load something on the phone like maybe just watching a video or just trying to scroll the internet. Overall there are cool things about this phone and the look of it is really cool but sadly it just has to many issues that occur over time. I am actually going to be trading this phone in once i pay it off.

Great Nostalgia and very Durable.
5 January 2024

So before I begin, I've had this phone since Feb. 2022 to currently today, being Jan 2024. With that's said...-Overall Durability: Its still in one piece and no cracks, and I keep dropping it daily(and I mean DAILY) due to me getting up from my chair and it's still in my lap, falling from the latter to hardwood floor. This happens so many times so it's a tough phone and great for klutzes like me.-Screen Durability: Of course the one thing people fear about ANY of these Z phones is 'the crease in the middle wear it folds'. In my experience after 2 years with this phone I felt a crease after a year, but didnt actually notice/see the crease itself until last month, and to be honest, it isn't awful. Things that help or prolong these things are screen protectors which nowadays aren't hard to find and very affordable.Design: just like the flip phones of 20 years ago, because of its flip ability it fits so nicely in your pocket and can barely notice its there sometimes. The hardest thing about it is finding cases for these phones to be honest. It's whole "take pictures and watch videos while it's halfway flipped(in an L position)" is neat but barely used due to never having the need to do that, but when you do it does serve as a nice self prop up when your arms or hands get tired. The screen on the outside (or the screen when it's completely flipped) can be useful to check on the time and has a few widgets you can add like weather and for me, you pause or skip music that I'm playing. All in all it's a very nice phone with little to no complaints. I gave it a 4 out of 5 only because as I said earlier, the whole cool flip it halfway to do special things with the camera or media is seldom used and honestly is just a HUGE plus for pocket space compared to the giant phones that are getting pumped out today.

Great features and build quality

I love all the Galaxy AI features, the circle for search, video/photo editing and the call translation. The call translation feature is so insane. Watching movies on the device is enjoyable, thanks to its excellent screen quality. However, there are still areas where improvements could be made. A lighter weight without compromising specifications would make it a must-buy device for me. The fingerprint sensor could be more sensitive, and enhancing this technology would be fantastic. While the screen quality is superb, the touch screen occasionally lacks responsiveness during multi-touch interactions. Additionally, I'm interested in applying a privacy screen protector to the large screen but unsure if this option is available.

Great phone

Coming from the fold 3 and fold 4, the fold 6 is definitely worth jumping into. The boxiness and light weight of the fold 6 helped made the decision for me to get the phone. It just feels so much better than the predecessors. If samsung started off with fold 6 as the first fold phone, no competitors would had come close to them. However, it is not a perfect phone and does not have all the goodies a flag ship phone should have. I'm disappointed that samsung did not go with a titanium frame for the fold 6 like they had for the s24 ultra. This would had been justified for the price increase. In addition, having the same cameras setup as the s24 ultra would also help justified the price increase. The colors this year was also not as great as I hoped for. The black looks nice with it texture like appearance but the rest of the color did not stand out too much. I got the pink just because it was different than what I usually go for. I definitely would like colors like deep yellow or fire red or sunburst orange. These bright color options would have made the phone standout even more.Screen wise, nothing much had changed but the outer screen, even an increase of .1mm helped made the screen feels more bigger than the fold 4.Overall, the 100 dollars increase in the phone was not warranted at based on what kind of updates were given to the phone. Samsung at this point should relax on their marketing strategies and focus more on developing the fold or any other phones they have in their lineup. Samsung is a house hold name now and more money should be put in r&d to develop a fold phone with a 1500 dollars price would be perfect. If they ever releases an ultra version, 1800 to 1900 would be the sweet spot for those phone.

As an IT professional in charge of multiple properties It's essential for me to have a device that can access all the websites and tools I need any given day, many of which don't have dedicated applications or even mobile interfaces available. With the Galaxy Fold that's not an issue because I simply unfold the device and view the desktop version of the application and continue about my work day!On the flip side when the applications are used do support mobile modes or have dedicated apps I take advantage of the split screen functionality and have two apps open at once that I can easily share data between rather than constantly tabbing back and forth between them. When it's fully closed it is barely thicker than a standard Galaxy s24 and the new screen ratio is much more in line with a standard device versus the narrower front screens that were found on its predecessors. Overall I love all the new tweaks they made to this line to make it more familiar and more usable at the same time.Outside of work tasks I've been enjoying the new cameras and Galaxy AI features! The camera is a improvement over the Galaxy Fold 4 and the ability to quickly manipulate images with AI is phenomenal!

Love the Flip5, BUT Unstable Quality Control
24 May 2024

This was the first time I came into contact with a flip phone. Never had one before thus I was quite excited to try it out hoping it would be good enough to keep albeit the already bad reviews. First off, I love the concept very much and I actually had fun with it for the one week I was using it. It was nice, compact, when I go on walks, it was light enough I can hook it to my lanyard to put it around my neck/hand or I can tuck it in my pants pocket, and it will never fall out even when I run. I enjoy the outer screens as well with the convenience of checking weathers, calendar, timer, playing music, etc. although I had to download 3rd party app GoodLock to unlock more ways to use the small screen. I enjoy the outer screens as well with the convenience of checking weathers, calendar, timer, playing music, etc. although I had to download 3rd party app GoodLock to unlock more ways to use the small screen. Mini games and other apps were able to be access on the front outer screen thru GoodLock. The crease on the inner screen isn't noticeable when you stare straight at the screen but you will see it at other angles. As I use the phone, I forget that its there or sometimes I run my finger over it feeling amaze at the tech itself, thus it was not a big deal to me.Drawbacks are that if you want to play the other real games or grant permissions/verifications to certain websites/apps/programs, it requires you flip to the inner big screen just to hit yes. Also, when you answer a call in cover screen, it will only allow you to be in speaker mode. I think it would be nice if they give you an option to set where even when you watch a video/using apps/calls and close the inner screen, the video/apps/calls will continue to play/move to the cover screen. Though overall, its a fairly creative phone. Now the real dealbreaker for me is the quality of this phone. I made two purchases for the Flip5 phones to get the promotional discounts and both phones has small defects on them. The first phone, (just to clarify, I never drop nor mishandle the phone as I only either go on walks or stay indoors majority of time), after one week of used, the black trim that surround the inner screen easily pop out on one side as I flip it open. The second phone that I received has a loose hinge issue. While the first phone did not have any problem with the hinge, so I compare both phones. The second phone cannot stay open or hold in place at specific angles or flex modes but the first phone can because of the tighter hinge. Both phones have small defects coming out of the box, so it makes me question the quality of these phones for long term usage and I rather not waste more time going through repair processes later. Even with the discounts along with my trade-in, I rather spend $800-$900 on a more solid phone. I really want to love this phone because of all of its convenience features, but its very important that a phone has reliability and durability, thus I returned both Flip5 Phones. I will not recommend this phones to others. If you want to get this phone, do so at your own risk. Who knows, you may be one of the lucky few with damage-free flip5.I have no doubt Samsung will improve the Z Flip in the future, but for now, I think its still too soon for me to own a Flip phone with this quality.

Ooh, shiny! Nice, if pricey.

Extremely well-made with nice attention to detail, feels very solid in the hand. Has some nice tricks with the dual screens though finding the right angle for the cover screen facing you can be a little fiddly. Also, finding a case that doesn't bulge out between the hinge and power button when closed was a challenge.Amazon already dropped price ~$140 (so I guess it's not selling too well). I paid a premium to get the black version direct from Samsung but at least Sammy was selling the 512Gb for same price ($1099) as the 256 so, um, ok.Phone-wise, it's fine. I was rocking an S10e (which I absoloutely love) so it's hard to see much difference there. Closed, it's only marginally thick than the S10e in it's leather, wallet-stule case but it drops completely into my ... MoreExtremely well-made with nice attention to detail, feels very solid in the hand. Closed, it's only marginally thick than the S10e in it's leather, wallet-stule case but it drops completely into my shirt pockets without sticking out like the 10e. It is nice being able to answer calls or texts right from the cover screen, so that's a plus. With pretty light phone/text use, my more primary use is as a music player (Musicolet for the win!) and there, as usual, the sound is excellent. I look at the tiny speaker holes and have to wonder where is all that sound coming from. Sadly, there's no headphone jack. :(The screen is, well, it's nice. While you can defintely feels the fold as you swipe over it, you don't really see it when looking at the screen straight on; you can see it when looking at an angle but even then it's not that noticeable and doesn't look distorted.21:9 movies look glorious strecting across the whole screen, however, and you barely notice the teensy vignetting at the corners. All in all, a very nice device though, for $1100 I could buy 5 S10e's (I had recently ordered a spare one, in fact, shortly before purchasing this Flip) and it's really overkill for my needs. Being retired and leaving the house only once or twice a week, the 'wow' factor is pretty much limited to me but, if you have an active social life and like to preen when out, the e-peen is strong with this. Ooh, shiny!

My initial foldable device was the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, which I acquired upon its release in September 2022. Regrettably, after approximately a year of usage, the device experienced a malfunction due to air accumulating within the gap of the primary display. Consequently, I obtained a discounted replacement, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, from T-Mobile in September of the subsequent year. Similar to my previous device, the Fold 5 has proven to be exceptional in terms of performance and durability. Under bright lighting conditions, the main screen displays noticeable indentations. Additionally, the device tends to generate significant heat during multitasking or when deactivating power-saving mode. I attribute this to the numerous third-party and first-party applications running concurrently in the background. Nonetheless, the device effectively manages to cool down to a more comfortable temperature, demonstrating its intelligent design.By the way, I let the built-in Galaxy AI feature rewrite my review in a 'professional' writing style!
