Foldables have captured my attention ever since their introduction in 2019. I was eagerly waiting for the day that they were actually viable for everyday use. Enter the Flip3. The price dropped, it's more durable, waterproof, and has a better cover screen. I knew I had to have it. I was currently enjoying my S21 coming from an iPhone, and the transition to Android was flawless, so I decided to get the Flip. Let's start with cosmetics. It looks amazing. Samsung really improved the looks from the previous Flip, which looked like a boring monolith. The cover screen is a lot better too, and I find myself using it a lot more than I thought I would. Samsung really improved the looks from the previous Flip, which looked like a boring monolith. The cover screen is a lot better too, and I find myself using it a lot more than I thought I would. It feels great in the hand, and the display doesn't feel much different from my S21. Obviously, since the phone folds, it now fits in a lot more places, like shirt pockets, holsters, and smaller pockets in general. There is also the cool factor. When people see you bend and unbend what looks like a small wallet into a smartphone, you get some questions. Overall, it's a great looking phone. But looks aren't everything, so let's talk about this phone's performance. There's a lot to cover, so I'll do a pros/cons section here. Pros: Chip, main and cover displays, speakers The golden parts of the performance start with the chip. This phone has a Snapdragon 888, same as the S21 series. This means that this phone is packing an awesome chip. The main and cover displays are also a strong area of the phone, and also a great improvement over the last Flip. You can actually do stuff on the cover screen now (crazy, I know!), and the main display is now almost the same as the S21 display, with the only difference being its size, aspect ratio, and having 1200 nits peak brightness instead of 1300 nits. Lastly, the speakers are good too. They get loud and sound great, again, a huge improvement over the mono speaker of the previous Flip. Neutrals: Camera, durability, charging Next, the things that aren't good, but aren't bad either. The cameras are alright. There's nothing wrong with them at all, they take good photos. They are just old. They are similar to the cameras on the original Flip, which uses the cameras of the S10e, so these cameras aren't new, but they take good photos, so I won't complain too much about them. Next, durability. For the first time in Z Flip history, the durability is neutral instead of terrible! Hooray Samsung! This phone is waterproof, but it's not rated against dust, which is a huge step forward. Previous Flips shouldn't go anywhere near water. The display and main body is also much more resilient, leading to these breaking less than the previous Flip. Lastly, the charging is, well, fine. 15W isn't fast, but at least it's not 5W or 10W. 15W is totally tolerable in 2022. Cons: Battery, aspect ratio The worst part about this phone is the battery. It's not bad, it can get you through a full day, but it's just mediocre for a 6.7" $1000 phone. You'd think that if a 6.2" compact phone can have 4000 MAH, then a 6.7" can have at least that as well. They did have to make the phone thinner though, as well as accommodating the hinge, but even 3500 MAh would have made the phone so much better. Next, the aspect ratio. Why is the phone so darn tall?! This makes apps very strange sometimes. Most apps are fine on this phone, but many aren't. You have to go into display settings to force it to use full screen, which should just happen automatically. Actually, it shouldn't happen at all, the phone should just be shorter! Now, I'd like to talk about the biggest benefit of having a Flip style smartphone. First of all, especially if you have a Galaxy watch paired with it, you slowly learn how to use the phone less. With a regular phone, that beautiful Full HD 120HZ LTPO OLED display is staring at you, and if it's not, the triple camera setup is. You can practically hear the phone telling you to spend 2 hours scrolling. This doesn't happen on the Flip. Opening the phone is now a more conscious decision, so it doesn't just happen anymore. This means you can now look at your notifications, or think about the task you were going to do, and judge if it really needs attention. This leads to not being absorbed into your phone as much, and I found myself being much less attached to it, and more connected to reality. This, in my opinion, is the best part of having a Flip.

MOST unique phone I ever USED, Make most modern phones boring compare to the Fold series bigger screen, digital drawings, Movie/Shows Experience. First real smart phone I used was a note 4 and to this day I miss it so much very amazing memories and kept it for 5 years straight because it still running great. Afterwards I switched over to apple for awhile and it felt dull it had amazing software, camera, battery life but thats it. Left out in Xbox game pass, everything in apple is restricted, More expensive subscriptions for some reason, Can't used Microsoft PC or Facebook quest 2 phone sync. Had so much creativity where you can make your phone unique with custom UI. I Hope samsung in the future made a better camera software to keep up with apple but other than that didn't think samsung can beat my trusty note 4 experience. Fold 3 is such amazing phone that I left apple ecosystem after 3 hours of used. Starting to sell all apple products I had Air pods pros, Air pods max and watch for android compatible versions. If I win I'll spend it directly on samsung sites for galaxy buds and galaxy watch. Samsung never made bad products I have there nvme, neo g7 monitor and well all products 10/10 Would recommend. FOLD 3 open my eyes again to the wonderful android experience. THANK YOU SAMSUNG!

The Galaxy Fold 3 is a technological marvel, bringing together the convenience of a phone with the functionality of a tablet. The 7.6-inch foldable display is a treat to use, with its high resolution and HDR10+ support making everything from movies to productivity apps look crisp and clear. The phone is also incredibly powerful, with its Snapdragon 888 processor and 12GB of RAM allowing for seamless multitasking and fast app launches. The phone has a sturdy and premium feel, with its Gorilla Glass Victus front and back and aluminum frame. The phone has a 4,400mAh battery, which is smaller than other phones in its price range. While the phone does support fast charging, it can still be frustrating to have to charge the phone more frequently than you would with other devices. Another issue is the durability of the foldable display. While Samsung has made improvements to the Fold's display since its initial release, it's still more fragile than a traditional smartphone screen. Users need to be extra careful when using the device, as any accidental drops or bumps could result in damage to the foldable display.

Had the fold 3 from launch, first phone I have ever pre-ordered and it is a great concept and I have loved it since I got it. BUT beware if you are thinking of buying the most expensive mobile samsun sells. I am writing this after 1 & half year ownership 6 months into owning the phone the hing would not fully close which causes the scree protector to peel off, not a great start to a 1600 phone. I took it to a repair centre and was told it was a hinge issue and needs replacing which would take 3 days. Nearly 3 weeks later I finally got it back all working again. Great I thought. 9 months later the same thing happens the hing starts to not fully open and progressly gets worse and then the screen protector bubbles anagin on the hinge area. Book in a session and the samsung experience store. This time they won't fix it and I have apparently dropped it (I have a small scratch on the corner) and this voids the warranty and has bent the hinge so they won't repair it and want £600 to repair it! Funny thing is if the hinges can bend from a low level drop or knock on the corner and bend the hinge (and bend it in a very even way down the whole phone length!!) Then they must be made from a very inferior material to suffer this damage, and to claim this is the cause is crazy. Also as the hinge progressivly gets worse and opens less it doesnt seem correct that it can be caused by a drop and this would instanly bend the hinge. Seeing as the hinge is the key selling point and functional aspect of these phones it should be much better designed to avoid these failures. I have posted this as a warning to anyone thinking of buying these phones, they are great and the folding screen is amazing but I would not recommend you get one untill they have really sorted these issues out or unless ur are a someone who leaves there phone is a glass case at home and never touch it :) Phone features amazing Phone reliability and construction very very poor
I purchased the Z Flip 3 in December of 2021 and it has been my daily driver ever since. I switched to the Z Flip from an iPhone, and while I lost a few features I gained a lot more. I love the amount of customizablity this device offers, from the app icons to the quick panel there's almost nothing you can't change to your liking. This phone has a lot more features than just customizability though, the cover screen does more than just show you recent notifications. You can control your music, take photos, and even open apps all without flipping open your device. Speaking of taking photos, this phone has AMAZING camera quality and features that make taking photos a breeze, like the fact that you can fold the phone halfway open to use it as a tripod and even use the over screen as a viewfinder, and the phone can tell when you hold out your hand and start a countdown to take the photo. While this device has many amazing features and qualities, I have had a few problems. The crease in the middle of my device where the screen folds is starting to develop separate scratches, all in a straight line near each other along the crease, this was caused from long term wear from normal usage but it doesn't bother me much and I believeit'scovered by warranty. The main issue I've had with this phone is battery life, I find myself having to plug it in at least 3 times a day. This isn't that big of an issue for me personally but I know others may have a problem with it. The device supports fast charging up to 15 W and charges from 0-100 in about 2 hours when using this method. The battery capacity is only 3300 MAH, and as a power user I find the battery only lasts me around 10 hours on a full charge. These are the only real problems I've had with this device, but I still highly recommend it regardless!!
I recently upgraded to the Samsung Zfold 3, and I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed. The foldable design is a game-changer, and the device is packed with impressive features. The first thing that struck me was how smooth the folding mechanism is. It feels sturdy and secure, and I have no concerns about it breaking or wearing down over time. The device feels incredibly well built and substantial in my hand, but it's still lightweight and easy to carry around. The screen is simply stunning. The 7.6-inch dynamic AMOLED display is crystal clear, with vibrant colors and deep blacks. The camera system is another highlight of the Zfold 3. With a triple camera setup, including a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, I can capture stunning photos and videos from any angle. The front-facing camera is also impressive, with a 10-megapixel sensor that takes great selfies. One of the features I love the most is the Flex mode. When I fold the device at a specific angle, it automatically switches to a split-screen mode, allowing me to use one app on the top half of the screen and another on the other.
SAVE YOUR MONEY, steer clear of this phone, design/engineering is not there for an every day use device. I loved the phone when I first bought it. The inner screen was amazing good image quality and the fold was negligible. But after 6 months the inner screen protector began to delaminate at the fold; this soon after turned into a crack down the fold which began to spread, rendering one side of the inner screen devoid to touch interaction. It is pretty clear that the fold in the screen is a compromised point for heightened stresses and has lead to a failure. I began the warranty process only to be wholly disappointed and let down by Samsung and this is where my real qualms come in. Samsung deems any scuff a sign of physical damage even if it is unrelated to the ... MoreSAVE YOUR MONEY, steer clear of this phone, design/engineering is not there for an every day use device. I began the warranty process only to be wholly disappointed and let down by Samsung and this is where my real qualms come in. Samsung deems any scuff a sign of physical damage even if it is unrelated to the issue at hand and will essentially void your warranty. I feel Samsung is aware this phone has design issues leading to this inner LCD to be compromised and will do anything to skate around them. From the moment I bought this phone it has been in a case which unfortunate for me fails to protect the hinge or the outer screen which has resulted in some slight scratches and scuff in the outer screen from being in my pocket, but I have never dropped this phone. Apparently those scuffs are enough to not cover the completely unrelated issue of the inner LCD failure at the inherently compromised fold in the screen. I knew buying this phone at its price point would be a gamble for such a novel new technology but I can not justify paying an additional cost to repair the phone out of my own pocket with Samsung's lack of confidence in standing behind their product for what clearly is a manufactures/design flaw. Looks like I am stuck with an expensive paper weight.
I pre-ordered this phone when they announced it and I'm so happy I did. I waited till the third generation of flip phone purposefully for them to get all the kinks out and I can happily say I haven't had an issue with this phone yet. It's literally just as smooth, fast, and capable as any smart phone on the market but then has the added unique benefits from a phone that folds in half. The main benefit I use all the time is the camera. Taking wide-angled selfies with the phone closed is amazing and then being able to take hands free video calls as well with the phone folded halfway is great too. People may complain about the crease on the screen, but I genuinely don't notice it at all with the screen on and barely feel it with my finger even after over half a year of ... MoreI pre-ordered this phone when they announced it and I'm so happy I did. People may complain about the crease on the screen, but I genuinely don't notice it at all with the screen on and barely feel it with my finger even after over half a year of use and bending it countless times. It's a great party trick and conversation starter as well and I don't have to worry about handing it to friends to play with at all considering how durable it is. It's increibly stylish as well with its two/three toned design, I chose grey to keep it adaptable, but all the colors look great. It has a somewhat small battery but since I am usually near a charger, I've never really had an issue with it dying too frequently. The last thing is the cover screen, very nice touch but limited capability. I mostly use the camera feature, but wish it was easier to reply to messages, you can use bixby however to reply still so it's nice how much you can do without opening your phone up. This phone changed the game and paved the way for the years to come with even better foldable phones.
I've had this phone since release day and overall, it's been pretty good. There are some quirks and some weird app scaling issues here and there, but overall it's been enjoyable to use. I've always gotten compliments on it when taking it out at client sites - they always seem interested in it and ask what type of phone it is. It has plenty of storage and a slew of features. The camera array is disappointing coming from a Note 10+ 5G which had the exact same camera system, but it's definitely usable overall. I do like the ability to angle the camera using the fold of the phone. I do like the ability to angle the camera using the fold of the phone. Within about 10 months, however, my original phone started exhibiting failure of the front screen, a failed proximity/light sensor (this caused the screen to stay on during phone calls, leading to unintentional presses) and some random crashes. I've babied the phone since day one and never used it outside of a heavy-duty case, so I was surprised when these issues arose. I did get Samsung Care for it though, which is a first for me, and Asurion was very quick to get a replacement sent my way. I have been using that replacement since then without issue. The included inside screen protector is great while it's there, but failed quickly on both my original phone as well as the replacement, exhibiting a crease right down the fold. It appears to be more pronounced around the area where the keyboard shows up, leading me to believe it is exacerbated by finger oils or grime. Eventually I got rid of the screen protector on both, but that led me to discover issues with one of my bigger grips with the phone, and that is the aftermarket support: It's very lacking if you're looking for quality. I have been using the phone in a Spigen Tough Armor case since day one and I have warrantied the case once. Given the unique design of the phone itself, full coverage cases aside from the aformentioned model (cases that protect the hinge as well) are nearly impossible to find, and good quality screen protectors are even more difficult to find. I have tried models from SuperShieldz and Whitestone Dome - both TPU, both with their own slew of failures. I will reiterate that I am not rough on the phone at all. For what it is, it is a great device. I am sure the Z Fold 4 is better and I have heard that it has a much better camera array, but I will personally be returning to a more "traditional" style of phone once it comes out - something like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra or whatever it ends up being named.
So, the Zfold 3 was basically a chance for Samsung to field test a foldable screen before actually putting any work into a foldable device. They had already been making foldable in China for a while, but they weren't sure about America, I guess. Anyway, we got their initial offering which was the cave man's carved stone wheel. The crease down the center, the horrible updates where your fingers keep closing out the screen, the screen on certain apps like Facebook shutting down, or minimizing for no reason at all lol, horrid screen protectors that come with the phone that as soon as they start to peel people think their phone is coming apart, they actually had a few Zfold 3's screens detach. Welp, as of January 21st of 2023 Samsung is already announcing the Zfold 5, yes, they are about to release the ZFOLD 5 lol. Supposedly they have decided to put in actual effort on the 5th edition by increasing the folded screen size, and working on the crease issue. Basically the Zfold 3 is obsolete. Don't even buy it, unless you want to add it to your collection of Zfolds, not sure why you would do that. So, if you are in the market for a Zfold, or you are about to get out of your old phone, and into a new one, just wait a little bit longer. In a few months you'll have the Zfold 5 available, and none of the issues that come with the 4, 3, or 2, will be around. The Zfolds haven't been out that long, and it's already at the 5th edition. I feel cheated in a way. I feel like I should've been paid to have this phone since they upgraded so fast. It's just not worth it to get the 3.
