Right away I started asking for replacement the always refused. then a couple of months later the big screen would not turn on and the front screen touch screen was faulty it worked only sometimes making it unusable YET again for a third time in less than a year I had to send Samsung the phone for repair but this time I was done really the price of the phone does not justify this quality and issues, once again a requested and exchange and once again they refused. This is where my disappointment with Samsung really got bad. The phone clearly is not ok and I told the last Rep I spoke to what happens if the phone fails after manufacture warranty ends because this obviously is bound to happen again, they did not care simply according to them is passed the return policy I mean What is this seriously, can they not see my struggle with a 2000$ phone? I was left with no choice and kept the phone. now right after manufacture warranty expired again for the 4th time the big screen would not turn on and the small screen touch screen would work sometimes, I would have to reboot the phone several times to get the only screen that would work to respond when touch it and to add to the fire wi-fi stops working it would not connect to Wi-Fi. At this moment I am beyond done with this I call Samsung and guess what they cant help warranty is expired. I got on a real fight with them and since they saw all the issues I previously had they did a one time exception to fix it BUT NOT TO REPLACE THE FAULTY Phone, Guess what as soon as get the phone back I'm trading it. as I mentioned the have they right idea and innovation but DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE THEY ARE MILES AWAY FROM GETTING IT RIGHT!!!!! I absolutely love the idea of the Z fold phones and it has definitely been an interesting ownership experience. After purchasing the phone I was very happy with the screen clarity and image quality. I like the smaller screen on the front with the option to just open the phone and see a larger clearer version. Of course the Samsung warranty will not cover such damage as a manufacturer defect but if you have tons of money to continually pay the deductible for a replacement you can have an incredible cool kinda sorta functional tablet, phone, laptop computer thing with cracks and lines you cannot explain. Also the factory installed screen protector was peeling around the edges on its own making it appear to be just a shipping or temporary protective cover and not an actual screen protector. Games do not know how to react to the tablet/phone and MANY apps do not transfer from the open to unopened screens or vice versa. They glitch a bit and ultimately you have to close the applications and reboot them on the other screen. Cases are non protective and they don't stay on the front display side well. Just expected more from such an extremely expensive phone. Processor honestly shows no improvement in app capability and speed. I miss my Note 20 ultra. 2 let downs in a row from my to to phone manufacturer. The s22 ultra was a joke of an upgrade and the Z fold 4 is heartbreaking but I hope out hope that by version number 10 the foldable phone just may become an upgrade for something other than watching movies on a larger screen. Functions like a cheap tablet.

Having experienced both of the new generations of Samsung’s Foldable devices, I would say the Fold is more for me. The Flip is great and definitely doesn't lack in performance, the screen size just doesn't compare to the monster screen the Fold has. I find myself using the "open", unfolded screen the most when watching YouTube or Netflix, Playing Games, or sharing media (showing somebody pictures or videos). I have purchased about 12 cases, had to return at least 4 due to design flaws, and the 6 or so other are sitting in a drawer unused. The design flaws most of these cases had were, the cut-out for the on/off, fingerprint scanner, & volume up/down buttons was too small or oddly cut. This would usually cause you to have to open the phone just to unlock it with the fingerprint scanner. Another issue a lot of cases have is the bezel on the front screen. It will be too thick making it very difficult to press anything on the edges of the screen as your finger couldnt reach unless pressing very hard. I did purchase the official Samsung Silicone Grip Cover & the official Samsung Standing Cover with Pen. They are alright cases, but I wanted more. For example, if you go to a retail store for a case, you will see rows and rows, literally Hundreds or iPhone cases. Then you get to the Samsung section, there are maybe 20 cases and 2 are for the Fold4. I know Samsung can't control this much except to make and sell more official cases.To sum everything up, overall, I rate this device a 9/10. It has exceeded any expectations I had. The ability to quickly switch from a small screen to a large screen is extremely convenient and an attention grabber, the durability with the screens and hinge is amazing, they certainly have came a long way with the design, and the performance of the device is top-tier. There has not been one game or app I attempted to run that gave me any problems. Games run smoothly on the 120hz screen and apps individually or in multitasking, multi-app mode, run flawlessly.Sincerely, A Fold4 Owner & Lover

This all changed however with the Z Fold 3 though so I made the leap. I was mostly satisfied with the Z Fold 3 but I craved a better camera experience & battery life to say the least. It just so happens that close to the time that the Z Fold 4 was coming out the plastic screen protector from my inside folding screen miraculously started bubbling up. The battery life is also significantly better. I don't feel the need to charge up as often as I did when I had the Z Fold 3 and the battery can last me close to a full day on a single charge. Even though my experience with the Fold 4 has been excellent it is by no means perfect. There is still no slot in the phone for the s-pen, the front screen doesn't work with the spen, there is still no dust resistance, and the cameras could still be very much improved. Overall though Samsung got a lot of things right with this Fold 4 and I am sure that I will continue to enjoy it well into the future. I will also continue to enjoy the look on iPhone users faces when I open the Fold and they realize that they are looking into the future while they are stuck in the past with Apple.

I work in IT and the extra large internal screen is a game changer for completing work tasks from remote desktop to managing consoles via a web browser. Front screen is great for quick actions or whenever you don't feel like comitting to the larger screen in some situations. This model is much improved over the fold 3 in terms of the processor, not that the 3 was slow by any means but this device will blaze though anything you throw at it with flying colors. Very good build quality as well. My device unfortunately took a tumble or 2 since I've had it on concrete and tile but only walked away with light scratches. Would not recommend this device though to someone who has long nails as they can scratch the internal screen. Only other complaint I've heard when friends and family ask to see it is the fact that all of the settings and options although nice overwhelm users used to iOS. I don't have this complaint though as I'm in IT and love the ability to customize my experience from the ground up but understand the concern from others. While this is a great device there is always room for additional improvements/innovation some thing that I would like to see in the future are:Wishlist:-wish the device folded flat/flush(there is a small gap when closed)-wish the front display also had a pixel array to hide the camera when not in use. Would gladly take a dip in image quality for this feature-wish there was a raised texture material on the volume rocker so you can find it easier in the dark or pocket-front display s pen support-wish there was a model variant with S pen slot built into the device. Could make deivce wider to accommodate or modify the hinge to be bigger in order accept an s pen. Would even accept a magnetic option for the pen to attach to the side when not in use etc just something that intergrates the pen itself to the device.-make internal display crease less noticeable, it can be jarring at first to glide your finger over the groove but you get used to after ahwile. Not noticable when viewing content but wish it wasn't there.-Battery-this is a general note for Samsung, after hearing about older devices batteries starting to swell I began looking though storage to find my older note 10 plus and galaxy S9 plus both which had swollen batteries to the point that the back glass cracked and separated from the housing. Also have 2 coworkers and a friend with devices less than 3 years old with the same issues while the old phones were in storage. At this point Samsung you need to take notice on this issue. It isn't simply a fad or bandwagoning of the YouTuber frontlinning the expose it's a real issue. The batteries themselves have a rating of at least 4-5 years printed right on the label and there still is a high probability that this will happen prematurely. I of course intend to upgrade my devices more frequently than that should affect my daily driver but not a good feeling when you spent $1800 on a deivce that my not physically survive a 3 year journey if I choose to keep it that long. Other vendors have had issues like all products there is a fail-rate but Samsung..your name should not always come first in your customers (or competitor's) mind when thinking about battery safety.Tldr: great phone great device, continue leading.the pack for foldables etc and making innovations but fix the battery issue ASAP, there are billions of galaxy's in the world and even if a lower percentage failed that touches almost everyone on the globe in some capacity. Potential cons are compared to competitors i am a power user and grt battery anxiety as i am used to charging cases. Also appreciate the microsoft connectivity to windows which i missed since i made the worst decision of my life and got rid of my note 10+ for an iphone simply due to a little lag and battery life. At the end of the day, its fast charging is incredible, S pen feels great, crease is expected and hardly noticible, or an issue, folding screen feels well integrated, just as has been proven time and time again please be gentle with the inner display as the protector for the folding glass has a relatively poor scratch rating being that it needs to be able to fold. Again, i did my research and know my risks and where to look out for it. All in all, i think this is a great phone and intend to use it for years. I also believe the hardware is beefy enough to stand the test of time. That being said depending how crazy samsung gets with improvements in the following versions i might bite the bullet and upgrade to a newer fold rwhen the time is right. Ill likely have paid it off by then, though. I love this phone and would ABSOLUTELY recommend it to those who just feel like their phones done give them enough. If the deal is there. Also if they ever made the phone more tablet shaped in terms of compatibility with certain gains. Though im sure by the time they did i assume developers will begin integrating better support for these devices because although theyre not a new thing, they are definitely an emerging option in the phone space

I've had the phone for a little over three months. In short, the experience it a little too broken with apps often needing restarts to function properly for the aspect ratio you're currently in. Because of the excellent RAM management, apps opened a few days prior, if opened again but in a different state like an unfolded one, won't correctly size the elements of the app for the way it's currently being used. For instance, Instagram and YouTube will often maintain their UI from the "normal" folded aspect ratio and will often stretch it's elements to fit into the unfolded, wider aspect ratio. Hopefully this can be fixed in the future as the fear of closing the phone with a crumb or something of similar size that's made its way in, can cause the interior screen to break, is always present. Battery life is good! As well as performance. I keep my phone in light performance mode and can't tell a difference between the standard, but can tell with battery life improvements. Durability is good as it was dropped by a careless friend and handled it better than most phones. No cracks and only minor damage to the aluminum frame despite the increased weight. The image produced by the screens are very bright and provides a satisfying image. HDR in Prime Video is finally noticeable and the interior screen has become my primary video watching screen because of its quality. It makes my TV dark and boring by comparison. I believe the durability concerns of the Fold 1 and 2 are long behind us, and I'm excited to see how the overall experience will change in these coming months, especially with Android 13 around the corner.

For example, being able to capture Pro Raw footage only at a certain sku on the latest iPhone 13 line.This was a HUGE decision for me to switch back to Samsung/Android after having my expectations on iPhone/iOS exceeded for many years at this point. What better way to write this review than sitting here with my Z Fold 4 unfolded, using the split keyboard, allowing me to comfortably write an in-depth review on a mobile phone. The unfolded, tablet-like display is truly a treat to interact with. That's the perfect place to start, considering the novelty of a folding display is what got me thinking to begin with. If you're wondering why I waited until the fourth generation, well, we all know what happens when we adopt brand new technology early. I had to let most, if not all of the kinks be ironed out.Display/Build Quality/S PenThe Z Fold 4's main display (tablet mode) is a 7.6" QXGA+ 2176x1812 AMOLED with 374 Pixels Per Inch (ppi) with HDR10+ and a Variable Refresh Rate of up to 120hz. The VRR display allows the phone to dynamically lower the refresh rate, where it makes sense, to save on battery life. If you're wondering what QXGA+ means, just know it's in between a display resolution of 1440p(QHD) and 2160p(UHD) and has an 21.6:18 aspect ratio. In other words, it's pretty **bleep** crisp. The 120hz refresh rate is immediately recognizable as someone coming from the 120hz Pro Motion Super Retina XDR display on the iPhone 13 Pro Max. For general navigation, web browsing, scrolling, and multitasking they're both near identical in terms of snappiness, but the Z Fold's animations seem to be ever so slightly shorter, edging it out as a win for me in overall responsiveness at my fingertips. We can't leave out what's arguably the most handy part of the Fold's display configuration, and that's the cover display that allows you to easily use the Fold as a conventional, regular sized smartphone, that is if you're willing to overlook the almost obnoxiously chunky feel while in that mode. This is further exacerbated by a particular phone case, but more on that later. The cover display is what you'll likely use the majority of the time you're out and about once the initial excitement for the main display wears down a bit. Both of the Fold's displays get bright enough to easily see what's going on, even in direct sunlight. Text is easily legible, and texting is easy work, especially on the main display.One of the most enjoyable experiences on the near tablet sized display, besides being able to comfortably watch all your favorite content from any streaming service, believe it or not, is the extra S Pen functionality.I highly recommend buying the Samsung Fold Edition Case with S Pen included for $90. Normally, a quality case will run you $50 and the Fold Edition S Pen costs another $50, so that's a $10 saving for something that's almost half the reason you'd buy this phone to begin with. The other upside to this particular case is the satisfying soft but sturdy material that is a pleasure to touch regularly. It also has a protruding hump on the back that holds the S Pen in place, but also acts as a handle that makes the Fold much easier to hold onto. I can't emphasize quite how much this truly improved my experience holding the phone, but I can say, without a dount, I'd NEVER use it any ither way. The S Pen technology in general has come a long way, with very precise stroke detection, as well as being able to detect pressure for light or dark strokes. Personally, as somewhat of a mediocre artist, I truly enjoy drawing and coloring in the built in PenUp app. Handwriting messages and notes in Samsung Notes is also satisfying, and offers up a criminally underused feature introduced with the earliest Samsung Note series phones back in the day, and that's the scrapbooking feature that allows you to drag and drop pictures or excerpts from web pages directly from a browser with the URL embedded into the note. There's tons of hidden S Pen features I highly recommend watching a YouTube video on. Samsung has opted for one of themost powerful processors in an Samsung phone, and one that's used in the majority of recent gaming phones, the first generation 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ (SM8475). The chip has an octa-core CPU with variable multi core clock speeds, and an Adreno 730 GPU. I chose the base model with 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM which is the standard across all storage capacity configurations.What this means for real world performance is absolutely breezing throughmultitasking,which is better than ever on the main display, where you can now have three, and technically even four applications open at the same time. With three application windows open, you have one taking up half of the main display vertically, and two other applications, square shaped, taking up the other half of the display. So two squares and one vertical rectangle. Picture having a YouTube video in one square, a text box in another, and Samsung Notes in the vertical rectangle.As far asgaming goes, there's not a single mobile game,whether it be on the Play Store or an external APK that this device can't completely max out at its highest supported frame rate. Games that run at 60FPS are a cake walk and the few supported 120FPS games are a near flawless experience as well.One thing I underestimated was just how much of a delight gaming would be on the large main display and just how many games and applications "just work" and fill up the entire display. Out of 75 or so applications I've tested on the Fold, only one of them had to be manually adjusted to fill the entire display, and even then, it somehow just magically knew how to translate into the display's odd aspect ratio.Unfortunately, Samsung's arguably most interesting phone has only received Android version 12L, while some of the other latest Android devices have received the brand new Android 13. I imagine this wouldn't matter as much given Samsung is still opting for itsproprietary secondary overlay UI, One UI 4.1.1, which is likely necessary to tie in the seamless multitasking and S Pen features, as well as some other niche features like DeX. I won't get into DeX much in this review because it's an impractical feature if you ask me, allowing for a user to use their Fold somewhat like a laptop. "Google it."Hands down, one of the best features of this device is the extremely reliable and consistent fingerprint reader built into the side power button, below your volume rocker. I am truly blown away by how fast an unlock is. There's also a fairly quick and somewhat consistent facial recoginition unlock that you can use in conjunction with any other unlock method, if that floats your boat.
