The Fold 6 has departed from the softer edges that have graced the Fold lineup since its inception, with the side rails have a much sharper profile, matching the style set by the S24 series earlier in the year. Iāve been a fan of the straight sides since a certain famous phone of 2010 so Iām all for it, but I do admit that when the screen is now 7.6ā as opposed to 3.5ā of yesterdecade then it can dig into the palm of the hand a bit more now. All in all it feels really solid, especially the hinge and the IP48 rating is a bonus, and is actually now lighter than some large non-folding phones, so feels really well balanced for the size.Onto the specs of the phone, and Samsung have delivered yet another great set of displays on this version of the Fold. Both outside and inside screen are fantastic. Colours look great and really pop (as expected on Samsungās AMOLED screens), and the outside screen is becoming better with every iteration, slowly fattening out and becoming a more normal ratio rather than very long and skinny as per most previous Fold versions.Performance wise, the Fold 6 flies along using the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. I played a few matches of Call of Duty Mobile on the Fold 6 and it never missed a beat whilst playing, and also didnāt seem to get absurdly hot which can be an issue when playing high intensity games like that. The cameras on the Fold 6 were pretty great in my limited time with the device. They arenāt flagship level sensors like youāll find on the S24 Ultra, but are perfectly good. If cameras are the main feature youāre looking for on your phone then look elsewhere, itās all about the screen over here, with cameras taking a secondary role (especially the under-screen selfie camera on the inside - yikes). To conclude, the Fold series has made some amazing strides in the last few years since Iāve last used one. Design is slowly moving in the right direction and the phone feels really solid now and not like it may break at any moment! A few more years and we are going to soon have the perfect folding device in our midst!

After spending a full day with the Fold 6, I can easily say it's an improvement over the Fold 4 I previously had in every way.The Fold 6 is a fantastic device.- Physical Dimensions & WeightStarting on physical aspects, the phone is much thinner and lighter, being thinner and lighter thaj my preivous Fold 4 even with a case. The device is also much easier to pocket now thanks to the sizing changes.- Hinge & CreaseThe hinge itself now feels much smoother, and feels to lock in place at either extremity in a much more definite and satisfying manner than the Fold 4. This makes it feel much more sturdy and durable. The crease on the Fold 6 is also much reduced compared to the Fold 4, however even on the Fold 4, the crease just disappears when actually looking at ...Ā MoreAfter spending a full day with the Fold 6, I can easily say it's an improvement over the Fold 4 I previously had in every way.The Fold 6 is a fantastic device.- Physical Dimensions & WeightStarting on physical aspects, the phone is much thinner and lighter, being thinner and lighter thaj my preivous Fold 4 even with a case. The device is also much easier to pocket now thanks to the sizing changes.- Hinge & CreaseThe hinge itself now feels much smoother, and feels to lock in place at either extremity in a much more definite and satisfying manner than the Fold 4. This makes it feel much more sturdy and durable. The crease on the Fold 6 is also much reduced compared to the Fold 4, however even on the Fold 4, the crease just disappears when actually looking at the content on screen.- DisplaysIn terms of the displays, both appear to have much higher peak brightness levels, making it much easier to use the device outside in bright sunlight. The corners of the device are now far less rounded, which along with the marginal physical width and height changes end up providing a surprisingly large amount of extra space on both the outer and inner screens. As usual with Samsung displays, the image quality itself is fantastic, colours pop amazingly and details are impeccable.-- CamerasWhen it comes to the cameras, I have not had much opportunity to test these in different scenarios so far, but the few photographs I have taken have all turned out fantastically. The front camera and inner display's under display camera are more than adequate for use cases such as video calling.- Battery LifeThe battery of the Fold 6 is pretty good, after 7 hours of sceen on time, 4 hours screen off time, with all features enabled (WiFi, GPS, Mobile Data etc.) Whilst moving around in areas with low and absolutely no mobile signal, the device lost 78% of its total battery.- PerformanceThe Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 inside the Fold 6 is a very powerful chip, it is more than capable of performing any tasks you can throw at it with ease, the entirety of the OS is buttery smooth, games run perfectly, and multitasking is no problem at all.- AI FeaturesNow the highlight features for the newest Samsung devices are definitely the new AI features.Starting with the AI keyboard features, with the click of a button, it's possible to quickly compose entire paragraphs with just a short description in a number of different styles and with various tones. You can also change the tone of text you have already written to make it better suit different scenarios. Useful for composing a formal email if not familiar with writing in a formal manner for example. Then there's also a spelling and grammar checker, to give what you've written a proof read and fix any mistakes you may have made and not noticed.I've not had the opportunity to test any of the AI powered translation features yet as I don't frequently communicate in unfamiliar languages so am unable to comment on the effectiveness of this particular feature. In terms of photographs, the AI powered removal and movement tools are very nice to have, making it easy to select and move (or remove) any parts of a photograph and then quickly fill the void with reasonable content which generally looks very convincing. The sketching feature is a neat thing to play around with, but I'm not 100% sure on when it would be a useful feature, however it could potentially be useful for artists to get some inspiration for how to proceed with a sketch perhaps? It's possible to sketch either in the Samsung Notes app, or on physical paper and then take a photograph, then use the AI features to turn the sketch into a more realistic image again this is fun to play around with but I'm unsure as to where this would be a useful feature. An AI feature I really enjoyed is the photo ambient wallpaper, this takes a photograph you have taken (or perhaps one you have downloaded from the internet) and will dynamically add effectiveness such as snow or rain, and change lighting making it darker or lighter, depending on the conditions in your current location it's definitely a nice feature to add a bit of variety and keep things fresh, whilst also providing a little bit of information at a glance of the device. The last AI feature I have used in any real capacity has been the Browser Assistant features. These empower Samsung Internet, and enable you to quickly derive a summary from the content of a Web page, a very useful way to cut the cruft, skip the ads and just get the key details from the page. You're able to select the length of the summary to generate in case you wish to see more or less detail and it's been very useful for me so far. This feature is also able to translate pages, however I've not yet tested this functionality.- ValueThe Fold 6 is unquestionably an amazing device, but the price is also undoubtedly high and you are paying a premium for the device. Personally I believe the device is worth the money, though the extra storage options are a little too much extra compared to the base price. However the price is definitely too high for many people. I believe the Fold 6 is priced into such a market that it works only for high end enthusiasts who have to have the best of the best.- ConclusionOverall, the Fold 6 is an amazing device. It offers marginal improvements over previous Fold devices, tackling some outstanding pain points but there may not be enough changes to switch, depending on your own preferences. For anyone new to folding devices however, the Fold 6 is by far the best device on the market, and I highly recommend it to anyone new to folding devices, and believe it's a great upgrade for people on older folding devices who want a newer device.

Having a phone with the posibility of turning into a tablet was a very good selling point and why I sold myself into the Z Fold 6.I figure that, with years of experience and a few models sold before this one, by now, Samsung WOULD had heard about early complaints and suggestions of buyers of the previous models of the Z- Fold, and fine tune it to be a marvelous of engendering however, the phone is far from that and what I expected to be for the following reasons:1- The battery life is a joke, just writing this review, in the day time and while been inside, the phone consumed the top 10% of its charge.2- This ...Ā MoreOverall this is a good phone but, in my opinion, not a good buy.Been able to read clearly and easy is a most and the only reason I bough the Z Fold 6. Yes, you can argue that I can use the big foldable screen at all times to correct the above mentioned statement but, in that case, the battery will run out much faster and I will put a lot of stress on the folded screen and hinge plus I will also need to use both hands must of the time.4- The top screen is way too narrow to fit todays website standards and so, they look crowder or you will have to move the screen from side to side to see it all. I beleive that a 2 or 3 millimeters wider will have been perfect.5- The front faxing camera, for todays standards, its mediocre. The fact that it is a wide angle lens is great for a group selfies however, it's horrible when taking one of yourself. Also, when taking pictures at a low ambiance light, the pictures come out with low quality and undesirable effects like granulated pixels. For the price we are paying for this phone, Samsung should had included 2 front facing lenses (like one F38 plus the wide angle one) to acomodate every possibility.6- The folded screen by far is the best feature and the center of attention of everyone, aside for been the reason I bought this phone. You won't notice the folding crest at all and Samsung has gone over and beyond to make sure you don't.7- The sound, al though not too loud, is very good and give you options like "Dolby Atmos" something new to me in a cellular phone.8- Unlike Samsung's unfoldable form factor phones, this phone is not waterproof not completely dust proof so, I recommend you protect your investment by buying an using a protector cover that includes hinge protection at all times. Don't take a chance !!!.The Z fold format was not my only choice of foldable phones. They are other brands that make similar phones but, at least for now, Samsung is the only phone I will buy, other brands are not interested to me.I am happy with the big screen and also of having 2 separate screens on the same phone, just in case one of them break, I will still be able to access my phone and data on the other one.I hope I clear some of your questions and find this review helpful.

When I upgraded from the Samsung Galaxy Fold4 to the Fold6, I wasn't expecting a significant difference. I had grown accustomed to the Fold4's innovative design, but I wasnāt sure how much of an upgrade the Fold6 would feel. Turns out, the improvements are noticeable in all the right ways, and I was pleasantly surprised by just how much Samsung has refined the experience.First off, the squared-off edges are a game changer. The Fold6 feels much more comfortable in the hand because of this subtle redesign. It adds a sense of sturdiness, making it easier to grip, especially when using it one-handed in its folded form. The premium feel is enhanced by this design tweak, giving it a sleeker, more modern appearance compared to the more rounded Fold4.One of the most impressive aspects is how the Fold6 closes completely flush. With the Fold4, there was always that slight gap when folded, which, while not a dealbreaker, did make the device feel less seamless. The Fold6 completely remedies that, and the gapless close adds to the sense of quality, making the phone feel more like a unified piece of hardware.Another area where the Fold6 excels is in its thinness. Samsung has shaved off just enough millimeters to make a tangible difference, without sacrificing durability or screen quality. Itās noticeably slimmer when folded, which makes it much more pocketable and comfortable to carry around, even in tighter clothing. The thinner design also enhances the overall usability in both folded and unfolded modes, making it more practical for everyday use.The hinge mechanism also feels smoother, and there's a greater sense of durability. It clicks into place with a more satisfying and secure feel than the Fold4, and the fold itself feels less rigid. Even after extensive use, the Fold6 hinge shows no signs of wear, which was always a slight concern with foldable devices. The displays themselves are another small jump forward. The inner screen is as vibrant and fluid as ever, but I noticed improved brightness, especially in outdoor settings. The refresh rate seems smoother too, offering a more responsive experience, whether Iām gaming or just scrolling through apps. The outer screen, which on the Fold4 always felt a little cramped, feels more spacious and usable, thanks to the thinner bezels.Battery life is also worth noting. I wasnāt sure if the thinner design would mean a compromise on battery life, but the Fold6 has held up remarkably well. Even with heavy usage, switching between the inner and outer screens, and multitasking, Iāve been able to comfortably get through a full day without needing to recharge.Overall, upgrading from the Fold4 to the Fold6 has been a surprisingly big leap. From the squared-off edges to the flush close, the thinner profile, and the improved usability of the displays, Samsung has fine-tuned every aspect of this phone. Itās not just a slight refresh; it feels like a genuinely evolved version of the foldable experience, and I couldnāt be happier with the upgrade.
I have been a using a Fold 4 for about a year, so am approaching the Fold 6 as an upgraded foldable rather than a new experience. The inter-generation changes arenāt very big on their own, but together they are moving towards a product that is easier to recommend as a phone for more people, with fewer compromises. There will always be engineering problems inherent to foldables, but they are getting away from āthis is a weird device that you have to baby all the time, only used by early tech adoptersā and towards āmore people could use thisā.With other companies now joining the market, itās not just Samsung iterating on the original Fold on its own. This competition is causing Samsung to have to adapt (although it could do with fighting harder on the priceā¦), but the alternatives allowing people to experiment with what format a foldable should take. Samsung is still a bit narrower than its rivals, making it a bit easier to use in one hand, but wider than previous generations is an improvement.Pros:Every little thing has got a small improvement ā better speakers, brighter screens, clearer cameras, etc. More power is always helpful, and the battery seems to have improved, even if itās not actually any bigger in capacity. The screen now closes flush, no longer creating a dust trap between the screens when folded.A wider front screen means more usable space in folded mode. The phone is thinner and lighter, therefore moving away from the point of āa bit thicker when closed, but not hugeā, although still noticeable. The physical changes (wider, thinner and flat) make the phone more normal and pocketable when closed.Medium:The wider front screen means the front screen is more usable for video, but it means the inside screen just has more black bars for most media content. While everyone is trying to market their new phone upgrades on new AI features, these are all currently between ānice to haveā and āutter gimmickā, with nothing yet reaching the level that is promised. The pen is nice, but it would be nice if it could come with the phone (if sold as one of the features) and have a way to attach to the phone without the specific S Pen Case.Cons:While the squarer edges create more usable space, they are also sharper using the phone, digging into your palm.25w charging in 2024 is a bit slow, even compared to Samsungās own 45w S24 Ultra. For now foldables are still at a price/fragility point that it feels that a case is always needed.
Despite being a smartphone enthusiast, I never immersed myself in foldables until recently when I tried the Galaxy Z Flip. While impressive, it had many compromises, making me hesitant to front the cost to upgrade to a Galaxy Z Fold. That changed a few days ago when I got my hands on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6. This device is a polished entry in Samsungās line of large screen foldable smartphones. It refines the design with a thinner build, a wider, brighter display, as well as a better processor. The improvements, while minor, are meaningful, which implies Samsung may have perfected the Fold with the Z Fold6.The minor improvements mean this phone isnāt for annual upgraders but for those who keep their phones for 2-3 years or who are newcomers to the Fold series - and now is the perfect time to jump on board! The Galaxy Z Fold6 is slim, gorgeous, and feels premium without being bulky. The redesigned hinge ensures the phone is flush when closed and flat when open - it makes the crease less prominent too!The displays are bright with vibrant colors and deep blacks on the almost bezel-less screens. The S-pen glides easily across the shallower crease, a significant improvement from older models. The cover screen is wider, aligning better with traditional smartphone proportions. The cameras are stunning, producing crisp, true-to-life photos. Despite some criticisms, these cameras are absolutely up there with other flagship devices.Performance and battery life are excellent. The Z Fold6 handles high-end games smoothly and the new vapor-cooling chamber keeps the phone cool. I manage to get a full day out of it with moderate use.Galaxy AI, although not a feature I would use daily, is pretty fun:Using the S-Pen to draw pretty much anything within reason, Galaxy AI will turn it into a more artistic endeavor in a style of your choosing - you can even draw over photos, for example, adding hats to pets or adding objects to a scene, or even converting an entire selfie into a cartoon version of yourself. The only drawback is the price. At Ā£1800, itās a significant investment, but for those who keep their phones for years, or want both a high-end smartphone and small tablet, I think it could be worth it.Despite the high cost, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 has become my favorite device, replacing both my phone and tablet. For those not upgrading from recent Z Fold models, this is the best phone money can buy.
This is the first foldable phone Iāve had and Iāve got to say, so far Iām impressed. Iāve always had Samsung phones but had not been tempted to try the Foldable range until now. Whilst there are a few features the Fold lacks compared to the single screen phones Iāve used previously, this is more than made up for with the added functionality of the larger display and the enhanced AI.The main thing that had put me off in the past, was the worry the fold on the screen would be noticeable and would distract from what I was trying to do or watch ā but I neednāt have had any concerns. It is barely noticeable when in use particularly when watching video and viewing apps. It is barely noticeable when in use particularly when watching video and viewing apps. The only time I did notice it slightly was when using the S-pen to take notes when you can feel a little dip when writing, but nothing that affects how you can use it.One of my other concerns was around the batteryā itās slightly smaller than previous phones Iāve had (which often needed charging up during the day) and I was worried this may struggle with the larger screen ā however it seems to last so much better. Not sure if this is down to better power management, or the fact the phone is normal closed so using the smaller screen, but in general use it last well over a day without charging.Software wise it benefits from the latest version of the operating system, including some new AI functions. Of these āSketch to Imageā is by far my favourite (although Iām keen to try the translation AI next time Iām on holiday) ā as someone who cannot draw a thing itās brilliant ā just do a quick sketch of something really basic and the AI will generate a series of pictures in a number of different styles that I could only dream of doing myself.Thereās only a couple of things Iād change after using it for a couple of weeks. The pen doesnāt work on the front screen, only when its open ā It would be nice to use it on either but not a major issue. Also there is no place on the phone to store the S-pen, you need the case and then it slots in the back of that ā the only issue being the case doesnāt sit flat when the phone is open making it tricky to take notes with the phone resting on a flat surface.Having said that, they are only minor issues and far outweighed by the options the double size screen gives you ā multitasking on different apps, watching movies etc. As someone who was a bit unsure about the folding concept I can now definitely recommend it to anyone whoās thinking about giving it a try.
Wow, what a phone.I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Fold 6, my current phone was about 4 years old and having never had a folding one before I was excited to try it out, and I must say, wow, just wow, what a device.First of all size, when folded the phone isnāt a lot bigger than must phones, I donāt know how thick previous Folds were, but the 6 is slimmer than I expected which is brilliant, it fits easily in my pocket. The front screen is very usable, I have had the phone about a week now, and I can do pretty much everything with just the front screen if needed, text, and Whatsap, emails and internet browsing. The screen is narrower than a normal phone, but I found that after a day or two I was used to it.Where this phone comes into its own is when you ...Ā MoreWow, what a phone.I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Fold 6, my current phone was about 4 years old and having never had a folding one before I was excited to try it out, and I must say, wow, just wow, what a device.First of all size, when folded the phone isnāt a lot bigger than must phones, I donāt know how thick previous Folds were, but the 6 is slimmer than I expected which is brilliant, it fits easily in my pocket. The front screen is very usable, I have had the phone about a week now, and I can do pretty much everything with just the front screen if needed, text, and Whatsap, emails and internet browsing. Iāve been playing a car racing game paired with a mini bluetooth game controller and itās like having a games console with me at all time, this will be perfect for the plane and train when on holiday.Battery life ā I expected this to drain fast, but Iāve been very surprised, after a heavy day of usage, including listen to podcasts, watching videos and gaming, I thought that it would be flat, but the end of the day I was just under 40% battery, that is much better than my current phone, and this also supports wireless charging and reverse wireless charging, so I can give my buds a charge by placing their case on the back if needed. Ideal when out and about and my earbuds run out of charge. The AI features are amazing, especially being able to draw anything in a photo and letting AI turn it into something realistic, I also love the way you can make faces into cartoons or pencil sketches as well. The build quality is very good, the fold mechanism is nicely stiff and sturdy, it doesnāt seem like it will break or become loose after so many open and closes.Overall Iām very pleased with this phone, I used use a tablet for internet browsing whilst sat on the sofa but I no longer need to as the large screen is ideal on this phone. I would say that if you can afford it then definitely consider a Fold 6 as your next phone.
I've had the Fold 3 for 3 years now and it was getting about time that I looked at an upgrade and the Fold 6 seemed to tick a lot of those boxes. The cover screen is larger than before, which I no longer struggle with typing on with my larger fingers. The cameras are improved, though as I understand it they haven't improved much in comparison the the newer Fold 4 and 5.Battery life so far has been great. I have run the phone in battery protection mode, which limits the phone to 80% to improve the lifespan of the batteries, and I have yet to have a day where I need to charge before sleeping.Brightness is a huge point on this device, it gets up to 2700 nits which is a huge upgrade over the original Fold 3 i have. It makes movies/shows pop and allows using it outside to be much easier.Performance on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is also great, whilst I didn't have complaints about the Fold 3, comparing them side by side you can definitely feel the improvement and everything just feels smoother in general.Feel in the hand! This is a hard one to describe in a review but the feel of this device is so much more robust and premium feeling. You really have to hold it to understand but you won't be disappointed. The weight is also not too much, though I have never really cared about the weight of a device, I'd prefer larger the better. With regards to improvements, it does feel like Samsung are taking the refinement rather than innovation approach. I hope the Fold 7 takes the next step up, especially with how other foldables are progressing.Screen size could be better, the form factor is great but I'd like to see a larger inside display. Whilst the cover screen is totally usable, I'd love to see it another 5-10mm wider and that would translate to a larger inner screen too, after all your buying this device for the screen real estate so the more the better.I would love to see the s-pen supported on the cover screen, if I need to take some quick notes on the fly it would be more convenient, though I do totally get why they have gone the route of the inner screen only.Other than that, it's a great device that anyone either looking to upgrade from earlier Folds (I would wait a year if you already have the Fold 5) or looking to get into the market would enjoy greatly.
I was anxiously waiting for the new foldable phone to be released, and now that I have finally received it, here is my honest feedback:Colour and Design: Look-wise, it looks very familiar to last yearās model with some subtle design changes. I really like the new flat edges the circular ring on the camera changes the look from the back. I really liked this new design. In comparison to the Fold 5 which I have used as well, I found it to be a bit thinner and lighter, making it feel really good in hand. The folding mechanism has also changed slightly and I felt that it is a bit more smoother compared to Fold5 however the crease is still quite visible when the screen is off which is a bit disappointing as I was expecting it to reduce in this version.Battery: The ...Ā MoreI was anxiously waiting for the new foldable phone to be released, and now that I have finally received it, here is my honest feedback:Colour and Design: Look-wise, it looks very familiar to last yearās model with some subtle design changes. I have taken some photos and videos with the phone, and in my opinion, the quality is very good and in some cases better than fold 5. However, Iām not sure if these justify the expensive upgradDisplay: The outside screen now has a slightly wider display and the inside display is an AMOLED display now which is an upgrade from Fold5. The brightness has been increased to slightly and it looks much crisper and more vibrant.Speed and Performance: The processor appears quite fast and delivers the expected performance. It plays and runs everything smoothly.Other features - I really liked the AI features as well. The coolest and most fun feature to interact with is the one in the Notes app where you can draw a rough sketch, and it will convert it into a real image. Now you can also capture different selfie portraits and generate styles using the new Portrait Studio feature. Additionally, there is a Circle to Search feature that can now solve mathematical problems. A new audio recording feature has been added to the list, so you can watch lectures or record meetings and later transcribe them using this feature.Overall, there are many new updates and features in this phone. The subtle design changes and new AI features impressed me. I am a bit disappointed that the battery size has not increased and the camera quality has not improved from the previous version, but overall, itās a great phone and a worthy upgrade if you are looking for foldables and not upgrading from Fold 5
