I wanted Windows as a secondary OS on my new OLED Steam Deck but was afraid the Windows installer would somehow wreck my Steam OS install if I attempted to put it on the internal drive...My solution? This nifty little pro card! It has beefy specs with plenty of write speed (a rarity among most SD cards) and doesn't seem to suffer from any slow downs once you start filling it up! I imaged Windows To Go on this card, inserted it into my Deck and it booted into the Windows initial setup perfectly! The OS didn't have sort of slow loading, weird hang-ups or "lag" typical of most portable installs, which really speaks well for the quality of this card, more so given how resource-hungry Windows can be!Overall an amazing card, especially for the $30 (512GB) sale price I ... MoreI wanted Windows as a secondary OS on my new OLED Steam Deck but was afraid the Windows installer would somehow wreck my Steam OS install if I attempted to put it on the internal drive...My solution? This nifty little pro card! I have purchased five or six of the Samsung Pro Plus micro SDXC cards in the past 2 years, in sizes ranging from 128 to 512. When I test these on USB C 3.0 card readers-I have two different brand card readers- I have never had a single write speed below 79 mb/s, Which makes these consistently faster than some of my V60 cards. In the case of the 512gb card specifically, I've had write speeds consistently over 105 mb/s. The Reed speeds tend to be around 110 to 130 mb/s in my tests. An incredibly strong performance given the price of the cards. For the price, these cannot be beat. Even for my highest bit rate Canon and Panasonic consumer hybrid bodies, I can use these cards and not worry about dropping frames.

I recently got the Samsung Pro Plus 256GB microSDXC Memory Card, and it’s been fantastic!Pros:Super Fast: Quick transfers for 4K videos, apps, and large files.Huge Storage: 256GB means no more deleting files to make space.Durable: Waterproof, shockproof, and great for outdoor use.Versatile: Works seamlessly with my phone, camera, and laptop.Cons:A Bit Pricey: It’s more expensive, but worth it for the speed and quality.Overall:This card is perfect for anyone needing fast, reliable, and spacious storage. Highly recommend!
I picked one of these up to double the storage of my Steam Deck without installing a new SSD. I wanted something that was inexpensive, high quality, fast enough to load games from, and had the capacity to hold 10-20 games.I've been a longtime Samsung memory customer dating back to their 2.5" IDE SSDs before NVMe SSDs were a thing. I built my desktop using a couple of their NVMe SSDs and wanted the same reliability with my Deck. My Nikon camera also has a Samsung memory card so I know this should perform well.It has served my Deck nicely for almost a year without having issues. Games quickly install and load. I don't really notice a difference between a game installed on the memory card and internally. That's mainly thanks to SteamOS's optimizations. Still, I think it's a testament to the memory card that I have used for about a year, constantly uninstalling and installing games, without any issues. Most other memory cards I heavily use end of getting corrupted by now.I highly recommend this card for anyone looking to add reliable, fast storage to their Steam Deck without breaking the bank or going through the trouble of installing a new SSD.
I did a good bit of research comparing the Samsung to the Sandisk and found no logical clear winner between the two. It seems that the Sandisk is a micro fraction faster than the Samsung but the Samsung is more reliable. I also read that the tiny difference in speed has no impact on anything.I bought three of these to use in my GoPro and have found them to be excellent. I have had no reliability issues nor have I had any problem with read/write speed. I have recorded hours at 5k with no issues whatsoever.I recommend this product because of the fair price and the quality.
I currently have the 128 GB Samsung Pro Plus in constant use with my new-ish Hp Envy 17.3' 12th Gen Intel Cpu Laptop's integrated standard sized SD Card reader with the micro SD card size to standard SD card size adapter included with this micro SD card and I am very very VERY impressed with the noticeable increase in performance compared to the prior generation of this card. The prior model generation that I used was I believe 160MB reads and 120MB writes and this one that is the newest model for this year 2023 which increases the speed to 180MB reads and 130MB does perform faster and I do notice it when I use my software installs from the just fantastic micro SD card.If you have a newer-ish laptop that has a working SD card slot and the latest drivers for the SD ... MoreI currently have the 128 GB Samsung Pro Plus in constant use with my new-ish Hp Envy 17.3' 12th Gen Intel Cpu Laptop's integrated standard sized SD Card reader with the micro SD card size to standard SD card size adapter included with this micro SD card and I am very very VERY impressed with the noticeable increase in performance compared to the prior generation of this card. I love this Samsung microSD card. It performs very well for my need. I use it as the second staorage for my smartphone in daily use. In addition to provide me extra memory spaces for taking photos, I can download video files online for my personal view. It is very important because I would like to save those files for later reviews. Another good advantage of this order also including a full-size SD adapter so that I can put the microSD card in it and bring it to my labtop or desktop computer to do file management use. The 512GB size is perfect and I have plenty of room to save files. This compact size card is great and I wouldn't mind to purchase additional pieces as spare in case I need it.
Mine just turned eight years old, if my math is right;) - I paid a pretty penny to expand my Note 5, I believe - maybe the fourth Note, irrelevant - I used it daily for several years, put it away, dug it out a year later and for another two years, I completely abused it - in drones, broken 'Micro HD' cams that were mounted to usually me - crashing while skiing or mountain biking lol.I'm laughing because I just found it - not an hour ago. It was lost in an older micro Sony camera I'd packed away and got an opportunity to go through the footage on my new MacBook Pro 16" M2 MAX - & I'm floored by the durability, speed - even today, and the pure abuse this little microSD128Pro's been through. Nearly all the writing has been scratched, rubbed, smashed or bashed off the plastic - but I believe that was just a sticker lol. The adapter and the external craftsmanship or dampening or both - along with the insane durability and reliability of Samsung's Flash Memory division. Says a ton, especially considering the speeds of their NVMe blades today, and how well this little sliver has held up nearly a decade and through three MacBook Pros. I had the 2012 15" when I bought it, got the 2015 15" and waited til now to pick up the M series build - and I consider those computers (the first two, and this one ROCKS!) to have seriously held up their end of the bargain, with the 2012 still working well, and the 2015 picked me up almost a thousand towards the new M2 16"!But they've all been outlasted by this venerable little piece of plastic holding 20,000 tracks, beds and other audio effects and pieces with a couple dozen GBs to spare.I believe the same manufacturer is responsible for the speed of my new machine as well, as through the grapevine word flows - and it's reading at 6,640Mb/s and writing @ 6,980Mb/s! I've been both jobs blow through the 7Gb/s rate but the consistency is phenomenal.I'd never consider another manufacturer for my 'everything', literally. From pics and vids to meetings, contacts calendars, backups and media - I know I'm safe with my local backups being on Sammy drives; thumb drives, SD - NVMe or my microSDXC 128GB for years with confidence. I'll consider nothing else and recently purchased the T-7 2TB external Thunderbolt ¾ USB-C external and it's amazing! For scratch audio and video and cache files, there's zero latency and an awesome way to save the internal SSD with leftover duff A/V odds and sods6 out of 5 stars!Keep up the excellent work Samsung!
