PM981a is great ssd from a reliable brand. With its high read and write speed, you can use this for work and mixed recreational use like streaming and gaming. Additionally, the 512GB is great storage for files and applications that require high usage of CPU and GPU like adobe premiere pro/rendering videos of 720 HD etc. The retail price for such M.2. sticks with this storage capacity is very expensive, so its a pretty much a bargain at this price. With the 3D NAND-TLC for ease of production and using a 1.3 NVME interface, it is lighting fast and has nice endurance for long-term use. It is HIGH UNLIKELY you will find this quality of SSD with at such a price. What are you waiting for?

Bought this nvme to replace a pair of 240gb sata SSDs. Plugged in, worked like a charm and was surprised to see that CrystalDiskInfo showed the drive had very light usage and only 35 hrs of power on time. Nothing for a drive I would assume was a boot drive.Performs as new, no complaints at all

Would be good if the hard drive received was the same as the one I purchased. It supposed to be PM981 according to the description but I’ve received PM961 which is something that I wanted to upgrade it from. Seriously is not the first time that someone at CEX didn’t label correctly stock and it ends with wasted time, shipping costs and returns. What is more annoying that if the mistake is proven you still can’t receive your money back but you end up with a voucher that you can only use at CEX and hope that it won’t happen again. But it will.

Works fine in my recycled laptop. No complaints. Item does arrive densely packaged with padding but only in a small paper folded unsealed sleeve.I didn't research this fact before purchasing but this Item will show up in samsung magician but has no additional diagnostics / features for me
Essentially the OEM version of their Samsung 980 line of NVME, stripped bare of its fancy outfit and style. Great balance of performance and power usage and especially good for notebook computers.Tom’s hardware has a great write up including speed tests.
Two drive were the 1tb version and the third a 256gb version. They 1tb are faster, but not anything I could notice in day to day usage. Only running Crystal Diskmark on all my drives showed a difference, with all exceeding 3000mbs and the 1tb exceeding 3200mbs. I am very pleased with their quality, 5 year warranty, and performance. Everything is faster, especially Online web pages load instantly. Even the performance of my 5 year old Graphis Card rated better somehow. But that could be due to the new Gigabyte X470 MB and Ryzen 7 2700x 8 Core/16 thread CPU too? Regardless I recommend these drives to any one who's MB supports full M.2 Nvme & PCIe 3.0. These are not the Sata non Nvme versions which are limited to 550-600gps maximum due to the limits of Sata.
The Dell laptop was originally provisioned with an SSD SATA drive and nothing in the M.2 PCIe slot. Also, my company still has Dell provision the systems with Win7. I successfully installed the Samsung SM951 and have it as my primary boot drive. It is amazingly fast and I am very pleased. Did have complications as Win7 does not have a native driver for NVMe and Dell does not bother adding one to their Win7 distribution (Win10 is their default for this laptop). Did some Internet research and found the Samsung SSD 950 PRO NVMe Driver which works with the SM951. Had to install the driver in the Win7 OS on the SATA SSD drive so it would recognize the M.2 PCIe drive, then cloned the drive to the NMVe drive. For some reason, Samsung Magician does not recognize it as a "Samsung Branded SSD", but this is not a big deal -- it still will run the benchmarks (168000 IOPs random read).
Awesome value, cheaper tha the Samsung Evo range but almost identical specification. Works great! Spo much fast than my internal HDD it replaced. Had difficulty cloning and then booting WIn10 with the internal HDD still installed, which I wanted it to be, but this is a Windows issue, not a SDD issue. Got there eventually. Would like to benchmark against an Evo model on my own computer so as to get an comparison of how it would run for me. Online benchmarks impressive but I can match online benchmarks others have posted with any device/part! This is the OEM model Samsung manufacture for hardware brands such as Dell, Lenovo, HP so it's difficult to find the correct drivers though the Win10 drivers seem to work fine. The Samsung drivers and Apps available from Samsung are almost all for the Evo cards & don't detect or work with this model but they don't seem necessart. The cloning software would've been nice but there's heaps available online to download if you don't want to use "dd".
Built my first PC with it. Well... I didn't, my mate did. Either way it enables me to master my craft and my craft is DEATH. NOW I ELIMINATE XENO FILTH AND PURGE HERETICS. FOR TH EMPORER.
