I purchased this during black Friday and not at MSRP but still high compared to other soundbars.This system is a monster in generating loud, crisp, bass heavy and immersing sound. We have used it for watching movies, listening to all types of music and gaming on PS5 and boy we are not disappointed.For me the rear speakers have been working flawlessly so far and no issues there. In years past I would fine the bass would cut out often to the point where you would have to unplug the bass cabinet to get a better connection. It just didn't have the full rich bass like wired systems and the sub seemed sub par no pun intended!This new 2022 sub and system seemed to have gotten the bass right. The sound fills the room and the bass no longer feels thin or cuts out. The new sub is rich and deep in sound and feels like it's now a wired addition to the system instead of being an after thought. This alone makes the sound bar head and shoulders above the rest.In addition to the new sub, this year's model adds in another 2 sound fields to the front and another additional 2 sound fields to the rear speakers. Making this an 11.1.4 Dolby Atmos and Dolby DTS system.Truly an immersive sound that easily fills the room and makes you hear things around you that you never did before with other sound bars.I questioned whether or not to update from just a year ago but with the updates Samsung has made in just one year, I highly recommend you jumping in on this year's model for the most immersive wireless sound bar system yet.

I connected the soundbar to my Samsung TV via the HDMI / eARC port, plugged the power cords into the walls for each speaker and subwoofer, and pressed the single small pairing button on each component. The system synced perfectly on the first try. My Samsung Television recognized the soundbar, and within the sound settings menu I was then able to turn on the Q-Symphony functionality I had been dreaming about for months. This means the television's built-in speakers are perfectly synced with the full surround system expanding the soundstage even more. There is no delay whatsoever on any of the audio channels. Everything is just perfect. Over the past two weeks we used the Q990B to listen to music, watch live College Football games, stream television shows, play games on our current-generation console, and watched many of our favorite movies again. The Dolby Atmos sound tracks have added a new level of detail to many of our favorite movies. Hearing an object move around the room from corner to corner, or fly OVER your head and wind up behind you is really remarkable. Every person that we've shown the system to has been "wowed." The subwoofer produces a great amount of deep, rumbling bass with no perceivable 'muddiness.' I really enjoyed the automatic room calibration feature that figured out exactly how the system would sound the best in our particular living room. It seems like alien technology! There was a noticeable improvement in the surround effects once the auto calibration was completed. I cannot say enough good things about this soundbar. The lows and highs are crisp and well defined, dialogues are not muffled and the sound from the rear speakers is just enough to give you the full immersive movie experience. And lastly, the compatibility is just as easy to manage as the setup! Having multiple Samsung TVs and appliances made adding the Q990B to the Samsung Hub a breeze. Tap To Connect also made connecting our smart, wireless devices super easy without any lag in switching between different platforms. It’s a good-sized sound bar, but not so big as to take over everything. It looks really nice with our TV in the room. And, even though it’s big, the subwoofer doesn’t take away from the look. It blends in nicely with everything. And the speakers in the back are small enough that you don’t really notice them at all, at least not until you realize that there is sound coming from behind and even sometimes above you. And then you really appreciate it.I also like that it's really easy to use. I just turn it on and everything just works! I don't have to try and figure out how to adjust anything. It just makes everything sound great.I couldn’t be happier with this sound bar. It makes movie night at our house something really special. It’s great to sit with my husband and the kids, with the popcorn ready!

I'm absolutely loving the HW-Q990B.This is a 11.1.4 setup, and compared to our "old" HW-Q950A, it has a new and improved design overall. It looks and feels much more sturdy, with a better soundstage and bass. Speaking of soundstage and bass, the new angled rears add a ton of detail to everything you play, and the bass is boomy. I have it paired with a new 2022 75” Samsung television, so I am able to take advantage of some special features that allow you to use the TV as another set of speakers. Even without them though, the sound bar really shines. It has multiple HDMI inputs so I’m able to hook our Blu-ray player directly up to the sound bar. You can also use the EARC and just hook devices directly to your TV and let the sound pass that way, they couldn’t make it easier for you. The subwoofer is amazing. I had to lower the volume on it to appease the family. There are plethora of settings that allow you to customize the sound fields to exactly how you would like. It also has a built-in auto calibration, that, to be honest, gets at 99% there. I do have one recommendation, and that is to download the smart things app and pair the sound bar through that. That will allow you to access, advanced functions without trying to use the tiny little display on the front of the sound bar itself. Overall, the sound bar has made our house to go to for movie night with all of our friends now!
