Optically very good, Very sharp when it needs to be and due to the ultra-wide aperture it can produce very dreamy out of focus backgrounds. I find it a bit too large and heavy for street photography, but it is great for portraits and also close-up shots. The supplied hood is way too large, so it's worth spending a little extra on a smaller one (62mm screw fitting) Interestingly it is usable on full frame, provided you use a smaller hood and use clear image zoom set at 1.2 - Then it works (without vignette) as a 42mm. for close up work there is less vignette so you can use less CIZ.
