I unfortunately bought two of these 2TB drives and when I eventually got around to using them I noticed they seemed really slow. I checked the formatting, ran BlackMagic tests and I am getting aprox 125-165 mb/s write speeds. This is using the supplied cable, plugged directly into the first port on a new Mac Mini m2. The drive is formatted correctly, using APFS, has barely been used. I just can't believe it! So disappointed with these.
I bought the 1 TB version and β surprise β it can't be formatted on a Mac. The "firmware issue that presents itself in very limited situations" is apparently a lie, the internet is full of reports and there is no solution by Sandisk/WD, only excuses.There is a firmware update that works on Windows and anyway, this model is "officially" not affected by problems.Don't bother asking for a serial number, it's officially not affected so I guess there will never be a solution.I will have this replaced by the shop and buy from a more reliable manufacturer. I will warn other people to buy Sandisk products.
