I checked the formatting, ran BlackMagic tests and I am getting aprox 125-165 mb/s write speeds. This is using the supplied cable, plugged directly into the first port on a new Mac Mini m2. The drive is formatted correctly, using APFS, has barely been used. I just can't believe it! So disappointed with these.

Love the compact size and of course the speed of an SSD. However, compared to other similar devices I've used this one has been problematic. I always take care to ensure I use the eject function yet virtually every time I plug the device back in it comes up with a device failure and requires a scan. I haven't lost any data, yet, but it's alarming to think that every time I plug this thing in the system detects an issue. I'm about to return it under warranty because I feel like it may be defective. The laptop I use it with has no problem with other storage devices.

The pictures are a little deceiving, and so I was a little shocked at how small physically it was. The case is completely plastic and it's VERY light weight, so I was concerned with the potential to hold up in an active usage. I bought the 1 TB version and – surprise – it can't be formatted on a Mac.
