Item arrived within a few days and neatly packaged in a packet lined with bubble wrap. The item itself is very small, with the main body made of brushed metal and the hook of a sort of plastic. With no moving parts I reckon this will be quite sturdy, with at most the plastic loop breaking.Transfer speed wise the max transfer rate whilst transferring something out to the flashdrive was around 150 mb/s, whilst transferring into my PC was max around 70 mb/s, (front port). Results may vary of course, so take the max rates with a pinch of salt. For my use case, which is using it occasionally as a boot drive for Windows this is more than acceptable. Also take note (this goes for all storage devices) the actual capacity was lower, at 57.2 GB. There's some techy mumbo jumbo ... There's some techy mumbo jumbo about the calculation discrepancy at the binary level or something but do keep this in mind.Overall, with the pricing of flash drives these days this is a very good option of something you can throw data on and off.

I bought this stick specifically to store my music. Being in my 70's, over 25 years ago I transferred all my music tapes onto recordable CD's, then found CD's deteriorated so re-purchased them as shop bought CDs. However, laptops have changed and no longer come with a DVD/CD tray. I bought a radio/CD player, a cheap one and found out the quality of music that came out of it was yuk. So I have just spent 3 days converting all my CD's into MP3s to store on this stick. Which it has done very well and very quickly. I really hope they do not change the format yet again because I cannot go through that rigmarole again! I now have a dedicated memory stick with all my music and with about 60 GB to spare. I am pleased. I chose SanDisk as it is the only brand I trust. I have ... MoreI bought this stick specifically to store my music. I am just amazed I can store 256GB on a little stick!

Great price for 256 GB. Realistic speed when copying from a SATA hard drive to this flash drive via a USB 3.x connection is about 1GB per minute. WRITE-speed on my computer varies from 2.5MB per second up to about 28MB per second. A 180 GB file transfer took about 3 hours.Note: if you have files greater than 4GB in size you need to reformat the drive upfront to use ExFat or NTFS. I believe xFAT is compatible with Windows machines and Macs. I think NTFS might limit you to Windows machines and you'd have to re-format it to a Mac-compatible format.HEAT: my computer case runs reasonably cool -- no more than about 120 degrees Fahrenheit. In the past I have had many problems with SanDisk drives from 32GB to 128GB locking up and becoming READ-ONLY if the temp gets too ... MoreGreat price for 256 GB. Theyre also a slim profile avoiding issues where theres limited space on busy USB ports on desktops and hubs. The build quality is good, they come in different colours, theyre FAST, well priced and reliable.I did have one concern though initially the body is most part made from metal and when is heavy use they get extremely hot. That hot its difficult to handle and a bit of a shock if you forget the temperature and eject them from the machine by the metal surfaces. I have used the Ubuntu disk for extended sessions of 8 hours Ive never noticed a decline in performance or any disfigurement of the drive itself. I have had drives that get hot before not to this level but theyre usually housed in a plastic shell. I can only assume that a. its a design flaw b. its an integral part of the design to disperse the heat generated.Ive been using these for a couple of months now, so its not something I worry about but just be aware that they get rather hot.Ive run some performance tests which you can view in the attached video, and theyre detailed below for both USB 3.0 USB 2.0Tests USB Deview, a small utility for managing USB devices with a feature to execute speed test for both read write. This was easy to install, it doesnt require additional power and has provided me with a solid set of 4 additional USB 3.0 ports. I tested it to see if it would power some of my more power hungry devices which was flawless. This is impressive considering the PCI card did not require and additional power from the PSU. These ports were used during testing too.Ideapro 4Port PCIE to USB 3.0 PCI Express Expansion Card
It said 128GB Storage capacity, but actually it has only 31.9GB. Walmart associate told me that maybe you have problem in your computer that's why couldn't detect full storage capacity. i told her no i don't have problem in my computer and i tested in 2 computer 💻🖥️ and it still showed same capacity. Even i told her you can test in your system bcoz they doubted on my computer and i am computer techguy myself too but they told me we are not allowed to test it. And they refused to exchange it instead they refunded. And bought another new one which has correct capacity as mentioned.
