I bought this letterbox last week and thought it looked quite good, and mostly it is - good size, lockable, stylish. But it has one glaring problem. I wanted to attach it to a hardwood post of our wooden pailing side fence near the front of our property and also bought the appropriate Sandleford wall mount letterbox post. I attached the letterbox post very securely to the hardwood fence post (six bolts) and it was rock solid. Unfortunately, the four small hex head bolts provided to attach the centre of the letterbox to the letterbox post only tighten into a bottom plate of thin metal (hidden with a false bottom arrangement) and, upon tightening the bolts very tightly, the letterbox stills wobbles front to back when you touch it because the thin bottom plate doesn’t ... MoreI bought this letterbox last week and thought it looked quite good, and mostly it is - good size, lockable, stylish. The only way I was able to make it sit securely, to my satisfaction, was to add a couple of external L brackets bracing the underside front and back of the letterbox. This is an obvious flaw. For the premium price I expected better.
