Santa Maria Novella fragrances never disappoint me, still, I was surprised when I sampled Rosa Gardenia 1221. SMN colognes are always elegant, but this EDC is modern, yet classical too. I can picture it on an Edwardian lady’s duchesse, but also at the office or a lazy Sunday brunch. It is quite green, so the white florals aren’t overwhelming. I don’t pick up much of the rose myself, more of the gardenia, green milky fig and musk, but I expect that different people detect different notes with this one. I particularly like green notes, so maybe that’s why I focus on these aspects of Rosa Gardenia. Don’t overspray this one. It may be an Eau de cologne, but it packs a punch and could be overwhelming. Tobacco Toscano is a stunner and its scent profile can definitely compete with contemporary contenders. The opening is fresh tobacco leaf with a touch of smokiness, sweetness, and smooth suede. She tried it when we visited Santa Maria Novella in Rome a few years ago and loved it.The online order was done swiftly and safely and was delivered promptly within the time frame given.It was nicely packaged with the bonus of free samples of a range of good quality perfumes. I came into the NYC store in Soho and found the staff very helpful especially Sofia(hope I spelled that correctly). She answered all my questions and was oh so pleasant !!Even though I did my research before entering the store, I was blown away by the selections available. SO if you live in the tri state area ( like I do) please do not hesitate and walk into the store, you will be amazed by the kind staff and of course the products available. I happened to get the Alba di Seoul fragrance and it is very lovely !! And just like a previous reviewer, I wish there was a body balm or lotion or soap that came in this fragrance since I would love my body to smell like this ALL DAY !!

Libertine had sent me a sample of this one, and I loved it enough to buy a full size. I had hated the sample of SMN Rosa Gardenia - way too sweet and cloying on me. Normally I don’t like rose, but Rosa Novella has something different — a spicy accord that I am attracted to. I was also impressed with the staying power, quite good for a cologne. Libertine’s packaging and free samples are very much appreciated too.
This cologne is superior in its quality and scent . Definitely unisex which I love but remains totally different from my other rose scents making it uniquely beautiful. Longevity is also extremely high for a cologne but it's the quality of ingredients that's the key here. Adorable and in love ! First purchase too but absolutely not my last! 🫶🏻✨.
I love roses and gardenias and was expecting goodness, but this one didn't take long to come out the top of the discovery kit, for me. I knew instantly that it was worthwhile; the two flowers hit me near-equally, but there was dry, interesting tang dancing around them. The vanilla must be for leavening out the depth of sandalwood and musk, because there is nothing gourmand about this perfume. It reminds me of no other (though it has, maybe, a few distant cousins of high quality). I will gladly buy a bottle.
Hi I adore Potpurri, been using it for many years. Normaly I use a 100 ml bottle every 8 months. I just bought a new one and beyond the changes in the bottle I believe I feel some differences in the smell and how it evolves. I'm not saying I dislike it, it's just somewhat different. It is still a very special fragrance. I just wanted to ask whether there's been a recent change in the formula or ingredients implemented at the same time as the bottle change - I'd be interested to know more about it. Many thanks.
From the moment you apply Tabacco Toscano you are immediately transported back in time to a place where life was full of the most purest fragrances.
