This adapter has all the essential functions was looking for in an adapter for my MacBook Pro. I like that the product is slim and compact, using every inch of the product with a specific function. The USB-C cable is short and doesn't give you more length than needed. I choose this over another Satechi product because I needed 2 USB ports: 1 for my mouse and another for a thumb drive. Satechi is a reputable brand and aesthetically I appreciate that they offer color selections to match the basic Apple products such as silver gray and space gray. I also liked the hardware placement leaving the top of the adapter to be visually minimal. So far this adapter have served my need and I am happy with my purchase.

I tried this Hub after comparing a lot of the in store options and have liked using it so far. I bought it in anticipation of needing to use a monitor and transferring from a backup drive to my new MacBook pro. It did well, with the pass through and the USB A however it did get a bit warm to the touch when i hooked up the monitor while doing the data transfer. Just be sure not to have anything that would get damaged by heat or warps under warm contact temperatures. The space grey look is very close to the Apple Space Grey and the hub fits away in any computer bag or backpack nicely. Great to have if you do a lot of photo transfers from SD or Micro SD cards.

Arrived right on time to solve an unexpected problem. Needed to pull some old data off an old laptop drive and my computer only has USB-C. My old portable external drive case needs two USB-A with one for power. What do you know, the PD really works on this adapter. The drive powered up immediately. I had no problem getting the data I needed, couldn't be happier. I hadn't thought of that as a reason for having the PD, but I am glad it has it, saved the day!!
Great product as a whole, giving you all the extra ports that you may want for your pc, mac or iPad. However, something not mentioned (at time of writing) in the product description is that the USB-C Port is charge only meaning you can't plug in another device such as a webcam though it. I've also notice on occasion that after waking the computer or coming from the screen saver, I have to unplug then replug in as it wont always wake up the external monitor connected to the HDMI. Otherwise it works great
Just because this thing has a wealth of ports doesn't mean it's able to juggle them all at once. I use this to connect my MacBook Pro '19 to a monitor (via HDMI), a USB keyboard, a HDD, and occasionally an SD card. While all of these *can* work together, they often don't, especially when adding one to the array: When I plug in a drive, the external screen goes out (it returns after ~10 seconds). Or when I have an SD card in and add the drive, the SD card looses connection and causes a disk not ejected properly alert. I tried to plug my charging cord into the one USB-C port on it (which only supports power, not data), but this does not help at all. I purchased this product at the apple store after using it for a week decided to go back to the store and return it. The salesperson who helped stated that it was the best adapter, so I decided to keep it. I have not been able to use it. It doesn't work. Also is very slow to the point that it freezes my computer since the day I purchased. after a few months having it on my bag back decide to give it a try again, and it does the same issue. I have sent emails twice and not be able to get an answer. I will update my review once the issue its been resolve.
Performance is great able to take 2 USB , one USB-c card reader and HDMI port. Very slim so very portable. Got a good deal with the discount saved $100 mighty ape is awesome!!!
Its good value however in the end I'll have to just recommend the apple dongle over all these third party dongles. I chose this one due to the variety and it had all the ports that I needed. The passthrough charging works, but that is all that USB C port can do, when a hard drive is plugged into the USB C port of this dongle nothing happens, you have to use a port from the computer for USB C connections which is pretty useless if it can only work for charging the computer. Having never used this type of device, I appreciate its functionality. I use this product to connect to my MacBook as it is my charger and a way to engage my auxiliary devices as a plug-in. It is worth investing in this product type—high quality with high performance.
