This is blatantly obvious, but if you have anything around your macbook to keep it protected, then this product does not connect. It needs to plug all the way in and be flush with the laptop. Inherently it doesn’t make sense from a design perspective, it adds too much width to the laptop. I would purchase a version with a cord instead. Three stars because it is well made.

Has 4 USB ports in a tiny footprint & plugs into my 2019 MacbookPro (also 2020). Takes up little space with short cord. Only issue it seems to drain the battery if computer not plugged in so u won’t get benefit of the supposed long battery life of the MBPro. Not sure why it needs power...?

Best price I could find on the web for a product that jbhifi and others did not have. This all in one hub is even better than expected. Very neat fit on the side of my space grew MBP (2017 model) and smaller than I expected making it very easy to carry in a laptop bag. Have tried other hubs that use a cable to connect to the MBP. These are bulkier and take up more space on the desk. Great value compared to buying a separate HDMI + USB + Ethernet cables.

Easy to plug into the dual USB-C jacks and gives combination of 2 - USB-2, SVGA, Ethernet, USB-C, and MicroSD card for rapid data transfer to other devices, or quick temporary storage. Good looking quality device that I expect to last a lifetime like the Mac Book Pro it's plugged into! (my first!)
This is the perfect addition to a MacBook pro. It recreates the ports and the SD slot that Apple, in their infinite wisdom, decided that professional photographers no longer need. Apple should have either left the ports and slot, or come up with something like this themselves. Well priced.No need for a collection of dongles!
Love this product so far. My only concern is it only uses the 2 USB C ports on the MacBookPro so secure the adapter to the computer. Care must be used not to flex the unit when inserting and unplugging it from the laptop. That will be obvious the first couple times you attach it. Fair price and what appears to be a well made product. Thumbs up so far.
I ordered this Satechi Hub for the office for my 2018 MacBook Pro and although the USB C and both USB 3.0 ports worked fine, the HDMI port was very sensitive and sometimes it would take me up to 10 attempts to get everything working properly again. I bought mine through Kogan and they kindly offered a replacement, but after 1 day I was having the same issues with the HDMI port again. Would not recommend,
It works great, the ports are very convenient, and even the SD card slot which I didn't expect to use is very helpful! My only complain is that the standard USB slots seem to have intermittent latency, unsuitable to plug a mouse. If, however, I use a different standard USB adapter to the USB-C port there's no latency! So that's weird. Everything else works great!
Full external connection versatility for the new M1 MacBook Pro. Every necessary input versus the limited 2 micro usb connections. HIGHLY recommend this! Hey... the color is even a PERFECT match to Apple Space GREY!
Lots of useful ports, nice that the USB-C port is not limited to power only. Build quality seems good and aluminum finish matches the MacBook’s fairly well. Can be used on either side of a Pro, though if plugged in on the right it will show the underside which has text and logos printed on it.
