Looks great with the iMac. Like it is part of it. I think it is a little short on ports, but has all the basic ones you likely would be buying dongles for, given the iMac only has USB C. Could stand a couple on the front for easier access. A, C, headphone. The SSD slot was one reason I got it. Very useful, and easy to use. Only real disappointment was not having a green to go with my iMac. If yours is silver or blue they got you covered. I settled for silver.

Elegant design that fits the MAC 2021 version. A number of useful ports for most needs. I upgraded the device by adding a terabyte ssd to the provided slot. Works well, looks good.

Arrived to find the SSD cover is attached by magnet - the magnet was too strong and the glue too weak so it had failed in transit and fell out. Returning. Not usual Satechi quality. I’m also surprised I was asked to review when I have an RMA, so they don’t appear to have joined up systems.

This dock is gorgeous and a perfect fit over the base of the iMac. It was a great idea to make it a drive enclosure, but the drive only works for about an hour, and then it disappears and there's a warning that the disk was not ejected properly. I've made sure the fit was snug. I tested the drive in other enclosures. I tried other drives in the dock. I tried everything and the drive still gets booted out. I'm pretty sure that the dock design is causing it to overheat. Also, there is this plethora of USB-A ports when no one needs them anymore. Maybe one for a mouse receiver or an old PC device... but what everyone needs is more USB-C ports. But since the dock uses up one C only to give you one back, it's a net gain of zero. It’s everything I could have asked for! It tidied up their work space. I jus had wished I’d known about the SSD port before I’d ordered a peripheral! But I think that I could pass it to my God Daughter as she has my old iMac.
I am very pleased with my Satechi slim dock. Color match is perfect. The dock looks organic to the Mac. Well built product that provides needed ports and SSD storage. I increased my storage 400% by adding a Samsung 1TB SSD and it is hidden away inside my slim dock. Good value. Quick delivery. I definitely recommend this product and company.
The dock fits nicely above the middle foot of the Mac. There are enough slots to comfortably expand with media whenever needed. Adding the appropriate SSD will surely give you all the space needed to run the computer with ease.
The Slim dock has a nice quality. It looked great with the matching color.There was a nice surprise that the dock port can be used for charging despite it said ports were for data only. I did have the SSD drive installed.
I use my dock paired with my BenQ PD3220U 32 inch monitor and ROG Zephyrus G15 laptop.The original cable didn't have enough power delivery to allow the SD card ports to work when plugged into the monitor so took a while to find a one that delivered enough power and all ports worked. I used a 60w USB C plugged into the side USB C port.I'm a wedding photographer so great to have a dedicated SD slot and the USBC port included is another great help. I have installed a 2tb NVMe drive for a bit more storage.Overall a great little dock. Fully recommend even if you don't have a Mac.
If you need a hub for your M1 iMac 24, this is the one you need. Seamless design blends in and the fact it also can house a SSD drive is just killer!! Mine houses my Time Machine back up, which is perfect setup for me! It's not a cheap hub, but it is a great value hub for the build quality, aesthetic, and the built in SSD drive enclosure feature. Worth the $ in my opinion.
