Best Trail Shoe I’ve Ever Worn!

I LOVE these shoes! I use triumphs as my daily trainers on the road and peregrines for trails. I have a few Ultra races coming up and decided to grab these.. and I am SO happy that I did! First time wearing them was this past weekend on an 18 mile trail run- they were so incredibly comfortable, I didn’t even have to think about my feet during it. I felt light on my feet, like I was just prancing along. And my legs still felt fresh at the end! I am definitely stocking up on these!

I am not a runner but I do a lot of adventures and these have been my favorite adventure shoes by far! They got completely submerged in the muddy jungles of Costa Rica and then rinsed off and dried off very easily, completely, and quickly! I have the black ones and you couldn't even tell they had been muddy. I wore them up to the summit of Half Dome and the top of Angel's Landing and the grip was perfect. I have done lots of desert hikes in them and it's true that the rough stone took off a piece of tread or two, but I have continued wearing them without a problem. I love the stow loop for the laces. They are very comfortable for me.

My first pair of Saucony did not disappoint. I ran 6 races with Endorphin Speed 3, so I decided to try a new pair which is these the Endorphin Edge. I am very disappointed with these sneakers. They run at least 1/2 to 1 size larger. I have about an inch of room in the front. I discarded the box before I tried them on, (thought they all ran the same) therefore did not return. Gave them a try for 1 run and my knees were in pain the next day. This doesn't happen with any other running shoes that I have.

Great for less technical mixed terrain
5 April 2023

I bought these for a mixed trail/road race (8 miles trail, 5 miles road) because I figured the higher stack would be better on the road portion, even though it might compromise the trail portion a little. Most of the trail was hard pack that had just been rained on and it turned to mud. on the trail portion of the race, there was 1200ft of climbing over about 6 miles with 17 water crossings so these shoes got soaked through and drained water repeatedly. I was slightly worried about the review that said the shoes got horribly heavy after getting wet. I’m pleased to report that this was not the case. The reviewer must not be used to running in wet shoes. I found these shoes drained water reasonably well and my feet dried out between the water crossings. The reviewer must not be used to running in wet shoes. I found these shoes drained water reasonably well and my feet dried out between the water crossings. The shoes never became super heavy. Another plus was that the rubber on the soles did not accumulate much mud and shed the mud super fast with each stream dunking. I looked at other people’s shoes and some people were legitimately wearing mud boots halfway through. The downhill trail portion was well cushioned due to the higher stack. I didn’t bomb the hill, but I found I could keep up a fairly brisk pace without losing traction. These shoes also functioned well on the road portion with enough cushion for the last miles of the race. Over all I was very happy with the product’s performance.

Great straight out of the box!
20 April 2024

Wore these for a messy ultra straight out of the box! Normally would not recommend, and had an extra pair of shoes stashed in a drop bag just in case, but I was confident the fit would be great from other Saucony shoes I have - they did not disappoint. Did great on the extremely muddy sections and had good cushion and roll/turnover on the runnable sections. Performed well on the uphills and down! Didn’t feel too high off the ground as I have with some other shoes with this much cushion- they performed well on the technical terrain as well; no fear of turning an ankle. They got trashed with mud right away (so much for the new shoe colorway) but held up really well (even after a wash)!

Let down!
17 July 2023

I love the endorphin line! I have several pairs of saucony shoes but I’d pass on these.I run in the speed 3-4 times a week in the speed those are a 7.5 which is a half size up from my normal size and they fit perfect so I figured I’d need the same size in the trail.I bought the trail for a Colorado trip and I wore them for several hikes and trail runs. I couldn’t get my heel to lock down. There was also way to much room in the shoes re- tie them - my foot was all over the place- painful! My feet were sore everyday! If these weren’t $200 I probably order a half size down and see how they work but I’ll probably order another trail shoe after this experience. The basalt color way is amazing!

Ok for shorter runs on even footing.
31 October 2022

I am a big fan of the Endorphin line and have worn nothing but the speeds, pro's, and pro+ for the past two years. I love how light they are and I have run injury-free (>55 miles per week) for that time. I have been looking for a good trail shoe, and the reviews on the Edge were encouraging. Unfortunately, I just do not love this shoe for the type of trail running I do. I run a lot of swampy/wet/uneven muddy terrain. These shoes are fine on pavement and packed sand, but once they absorb any amount of water they become extremely heavy. Once wet, the sole feels much stiffer which becomes uncomfortable when running over uneven terrain since there is little to no give underfoot. I started to notice a pain under my foot and behind my knee after 6 or so miles of those conditions. I have worn on a few trail runs to see if they would soften, but I still feel the same after about 70 miles in these shoes. I will keep these for my shorter trail runs (<10 miles) on even, or packed-sand or rocky terrain (or hiking). For anything longer than 10 miles through ultra, I feel as if they are too heavy and not nimble enough for softer trail-terrain.

Switched from my Peregrines.
25 December 2023

The edge is not only a great trail shoe, it is more than comfortable for everyday or work. I like the extra traction I get when on slippery cement or blacktop, and the carbon plate takes care of any sharp objects I run across. I am glad for the bright colors and durable construction this shoe has, and it is lighter weight than my Peregrines. I am very happy with my purchase. Thanks Saucony.

Too expensive for limit wear time/ love the fit.
26 July 2024

I LOVE the comfort of these shoes! I wore them for a 22+ mile rucking event in Mammoth lakes…… great energy return uphill, no issues with stability down hill. That’s just it……I only got 22 miles out of these shoes. Rocks punctured the toe guard, the bottom tread is all torn up. What is up with the quality of these shoes lately? My 5th pair of Saucony trail shoes and the last 3 pair have less than 30 miles on them and are torn up or have lost traction.

Treads Wear Out Quickly
10 September 2023

Love the fit of this shoe and how light weight they are. I feel lighter and faster wearing these. However…. the treads wear out very quickly. After about 100 miles (1 month) the treads are worn down. Yes, I do run on the rocky trails of Phoenix but at this price point ($200) these shoes should last much longer. I run about 4-5 miles per day, 5 days a week and I’m not a heavy or harsh runner (135lbs). None of my other trail runners wore down this quickly. Also the treads aren’t deep enough to provide good solid grip in loose gravel type terrain. Feet will slip and slide. But for hard packed terrain these are great and responsive.
