2 Pairs Had Problems
3 November 2022Dave

I bought a pair of Endorphin Shift 2 a few months back and the sole began to separate at the toe within a couple of weeks of receiving them. I called Saucony customer service and they comped me another pair. Unfortunately they began showing the same problem. I'll assume this is a problem in either design or more likely manufacturing process, but either way, 0 for 2 is a bad record and will make me skeptical about Saucony products going forward. I dumped another major brand for this same issue a few years ago and haven't worn their product since.

I have been buying the Endorphin Shifts now for several years and have used the 1st edition and second. I am continually impressed with these shoes! They are the most supportive, comfortable, wonderful running shoes I have ever owned. I am a mid to long distance runner and I can easily get 500-1,000 miles on these shoes before I have to switch them out. Even after they are done for running, I can wear them walking for another couple months. I will never be able to wear another running shoe ever again.

Hello. Firstly, I want to say that I am a die hard saucony fan. I am an avid long distance runner and I have purchased many saucony runner. However, the endorphin shift 2 is not for me. When I first put them on, they felt wonderful. I felt like I was walking on a cloud. I went for a 5 mile run. Just before my run was complete, my right foot started to ache. Later that day, my forefoot and midfoot were very painful and I experienced swelling in my midfoot. Three weeks later, I am not able to run and the swelling remains. I did note that the enforphin shift 2 does not have a lot of flex and perhaps I caused damage with the continues impact.

Good comfort but poorly made
30 October 2022

Comfortable shoe, great cushion. Decent arch support. However, the black is basically just painted on the foam and less than a month in of wearing them 3x a week and the black is flaking off. I first nocied slight cracking in the black and figured it would stay but once the flakes started they likely won't stop. Very disappointed in that aspect. Would not buy them again solely for that reason as they are going to look terrible by the end of month two.

Loud Squeaky Soles
16 February 2023

Wanted to love these shoes, but end up feeling frustrated every time I wear them. My first 21km run, the shoes were an excellent fit, liked the shape of the sole, and they are nice and narrow for slim feet. After my second long run the right sole developed a loud squeak with every step. I did a YouTube and review search to see this is a common concern with this shoe specifically. I followed the instructions of removing the liner etc. Shoe still squeaks, I went to file a return however it appears in the fine print this is not a manufacture defect? Long and short - they will collect dust in the back of my closet. Not my first choice, nor recommendation.

No knee pain; can run for days!!
3 November 2022

Purchased for triathlon races after seeing many (faster!) runners wearing these. I run 5-10K distances 3xs weekly and have always suffered from knee pain. With these, I do not experience any knee pain. The fit and cushioning is superb; you feel you're running on springy clouds (and they weigh under 200g!!). There is enough of a rocker effect at the toe that the momentum keeps your running posture forward. I wear a size 36 (EU)/ size 5.5 or 6 (US) and ordered a size 6 - the fit was perfect. If you like a little more toe-wiggle room, consider ordering a 1/2 size up. The color (campfire orange) is bright and the sole is a reflective green; ideal colors for outdoor, evening or nighttime runners. I love that the tongue of the shoe is attached with a mesh fabric; your foot feels snug inside and does not shift. The laces are long, thick, multi-colored blue and tie up nicely with a good grip. I don't think you'd need elastic laces for races or transitions. I've tried several other brands of quality running shoes, often spending $150+ per pair; after trying these, I think I will only buy the Endorphin Speed. The quality, fit and price point are great value for serious runners.

Remains the right shoe for me v Axon/Speed/Tempus
30 October 2022

I started with a pair of Axon-1s from Winners, and rewarded myself with some Shift-2s when I completed C25K in the late spring. I knew there was something right about the Axons (low drop / more cushion?) that worked better for me than other running shoes. The Shift-2s are definitely a step up from Axon-1s, and as much as others complain about the narrow toebox, I prefer this fit to wider toeboxes. I never returned to running with the Axon-1s even though I had planned to alternate between the two.Late summer/early fall, I started thinking about a different next pair, and got some Speed-2s at a deep discount from Winners, but those are definitely an "occasional" shoe for me. If you don't quite understand the term "instability", think wobbling left/right like on a giant marshmallow. As with skates/bikes, you don't wobble as much when you're running versus standing/walking, but my ankles/achilles definitely feel the difference.Next I tried a pair of Tempus, and the jury is still out on them. I just keep returning to the Shift-2s. I used to think they are like running with a foot cast on and blamed my slow speed on them. Not sure if it's the cooler weather or running with other shoes, which quite frankly, feel like a completely different workout, but have gotten just as fast in Shift-2s as I have in Tempus/Speed-2s.There's just something that feels very right about the Shift-2s, and they also work better with custom orthothics than the Tempus. I'm also able to run more now (decades later) than I ever could in my 20's with these. Shifts are the not most popular Endorphin shoe, but if it's right for you, don't be swayed by the hype of "popular" shoes. So I just bought another pair in the awesome Gold/Red since I'm not yet sold on the Shift-3s nor their more limited color choices.

Right shoe for me!
12 November 2022

Went with this shoe after starting with Saucony Axon. This is similar but better for me. Same as Axon: low 4mm drop and speed-roll geometry. Different from Axon: softer material between removable insole and midsole; tighter forefoot fit.I have to admit that I was panicked one month in, since it looked like I already wore through half the rubber outsole at outer heel, but 6 months later, it's still ok, though that same spot is paper thin.Have also since tried Saucony Speed (2) and Saucony Tempus. This is still my favorite shoe. Very stable, not like running on an unbalanced marshmallow (Saucony Speed 2). These work better with custom orthotics than Saucony Tempus. The only thing I don't like is that there is no heel loop, so I have to use a shoe horn every time. ... MoreWent with this shoe after starting with Saucony Axon. Saucony Women's Endorphin Shift 2 Running Shoes Black 11 B (M) US

I shoulda looked at EVERY photo. I had no idea that these shoes are half black, half white until they arrived. Surprise! They are the model I like, so I kept them. Plus, I run in the dark early in the morning, so there aren’t as many people around to mock me. Seriously, though? It really looks like I couldn’t make up my mind. Best of both worlds? That’s a stretch.

Supportive, comfortable walking or run
8 July 2024

The Endorphin Shift 2 may be the most supportive Saucony sneaker I have worn. These are comfortable for walking or running yet S' has other styles that fit jogging/running better if you don't need the extra balanced sole support. This sneaker has a broad thick base (sole). I like it! I am a 7.5 Medium and these are true to size. Also provide nice arch support and the colors give an extra boost (I have the Vizipro with a lot of that bright pale yellow-green).
