Comfortable shoes

I bought these a few weeks ago after hesitating for months or longer. Reviews said they had no support. Well, they aren't running shoes so they won't have that level of support. However, I feel they are very supportive for someone who doesn't require extra support. They are very comfortable. I love these shoes! I can't speak to longevity, but so far so good.

I’ve been wearing Saucony Jazz since 1996. This new “81” version is TERRIBLE!!! The heal has less support, the toe box is too tight, and the mesh is awful looking. Also the tongue is too thin. WHY DID YOU MAKE THESE CHANGES?! And for twice the price? Major downgrade. Saucony, read the room, loyal customers for years are super disappointed in this crappier versio. Of what was once a uniquely excellent shoe. Now it’s just some “onitsuka tiger” retro piece of junk. Tight and uncomfortable. MAKE THE ORIGINAL.

Great shoe, suede leather rubs off though

I bought these a month ago and I love them. The only reason I'm giving it a 3 star is that the suede leather on the red ones rubs off very easily, leaving a darker brownish red color that is highly noticeable. This came from just normal usage. Other then that, they are super comfortable and I love them.

Inaccurate shoe color description
10 September 2023

I just got these and was very disappointed. The color online said red/white. I got these to wear to football/basketball games because team colors are red and yellow. They are not red. They are orange. People kept making comments like, “those are cute but very orange”. There also is no arch support and not the most comfortable if on your feet for very long. Very disappointed as I love my Saucony running shoes. I wish the description matched the actual shoe color.

Pretty good name for a shoe
7 November 2023

I’m sure these are great shoes but mine were stolen before I had a chance to put them on. Sadly Saucony would not or could not offer to refund, replace, or even offer a coupon for another pair. I hope you get to enjoy your pair and are able to write a review of how comfortable and stylish they are. Good luck and Godspeed, or at least a comfortable walking or running pace in your brand new Jazz 81’s

Restore the Jazz to Greatness Please !
29 June 2022

I've been wearing saucony originals for most of my adult life. About two years ago I noticed and pretty drastic difference in how the same shoes , same size felt. I understand and respect Saucony wanted to use a unisex size. I understand materials cost more so I absorbed a $40 price increase. What I don't understand is the price going up and the fit quality going down. I urge Saucony to offer EE sizes in the original Jazz atleast in one or two basic colors. I am sure I'm not alone in voicing this opinion on the change in fit. I would never have rated these a 3 without the changes is sizing. It's not as simple as buying a 1/2 size bigger.

Ruined a classic with a redesign
14 June 2023

This new “81” version is garbage. Saucony changed the last after 40+ years of this shoe being perfect. It’s narrower and tighter in the toe box. It lost all the qualities that made this an epic, one of a kind retro sneaker. Now it’s just another “onitsuka tiger” fashion shoe. I wore this brand for over 25 years exclusively. Now I’m wearing new balance. Screw you Saucony. At the very least, license the old last to someone who will be faithful to the original and not screw over long time loyal customers.

Still classic, but I miss the Original
5 July 2022

I've been wearing Saucony Jazz Originals for about as far back as I can remember, and I've always appreciated the "don't have to think about it, I know exactly what I'm going to get" aspect of buying a classic like this. So I was a bit surprised when it came time to replace my last pair (which lasted me 5+ years) - I went to the Saucony site, looked up "Saucony Jazz" and ordered a pair without a second thought, even though there was a noticeable uptick in price. When they arrived, I immediately noticed the big difference in the general padding of the shoe, especially the tongue, and I also thought they seemed a bit more snug than before; I flipped it over to see that I have a size 12.5 sole on my size 13 shoe. So while the upside is that the shoe seems a lot ... MoreI've been wearing Saucony Jazz Originals for about as far back as I can remember, and I've always appreciated the "don't have to think about it, I know exactly what I'm going to get" aspect of buying a classic like this. Uncomfortable and Disappointing
7 June 2023

I have been buying The Jazz for years, and thought that the Jazz 81 would be similar in comfort and fit to past generations of Jazz that I loved. I ended up very disappointed. There is no arch support. The heel feels very firm with minimal padding. The tongue is not padded. The Mesh on the footbed looks glossy and cheap. Overall, a very disappointing buy. This pair is a downgrade from my old pair. Saucony has ruined a good thing, I am contemplating switching brands at this point.
