These were comfortable when I first tried them on. I walk about 3 hours per day, so it is necessary that the fit is good and no blisters or calluses develop. I am very pleased with this purchase. I have had two previous pairs of Saucony runners before that lasted quite well, so I was confident that their replacements would be good. I was not disappointed.

I’ve been wearing Saucony Jazz since 1996. This new “81” version is TERRIBLE!!! The heal has less support, the toe box is too tight, and the mesh is awful looking. Also the tongue is too thin. WHY DID YOU MAKE THESE CHANGES?! And for twice the price? Major downgrade. Saucony, read the room, loyal customers for years are super disappointed in this crappier versio. Of what was once a uniquely excellent shoe. Now it’s just some “onitsuka tiger” retro piece of junk. Tight and uncomfortable. MAKE THE ORIGINAL.

I just got these and was very disappointed. The color online said red/white. I got these to wear to football/basketball games because team colors are red and yellow. They are not red. They are orange. People kept making comments like, “those are cute but very orange”. There also is no arch support and not the most comfortable if on your feet for very long. Very disappointed as I love my Saucony running shoes. I wish the description matched the actual shoe color.

Brought me back to why I love Saucony. Why fix what wasn't broken? The support roomy toe boxi, the construction is top notch .I am a runner with flat feet and need support like this .Maybe not for speed runner but for a average runner I love them.Great for walking, and as a nurse on her feet all day... awesome. Please continue to make these, and if you have the mold, the Hurricane 5 was the absolute best shoe ever made .I ran for years in them until I couldn't locate them anymore. Bring back the old shoes so much better quality.
Used to love these, I have owned no less than 60 pairs in my life time but Saucony made a drastic change to unisex sizes. This could have been addressed easier by implementing wider sizes but they chose not to. It's hard to say if they run small big narrow and or wide the fit consistency within the classics are at best UNRELIABLE. I've called Saucony many times and politely inquired about doing a slightly wider fit as an option for atleast the basic original Jazz, even just the basic black and blue color, but go no real response. Maybe if they see it in these reviews. IDK
I’m sure these are great shoes but mine were stolen before I had a chance to put them on. Sadly Saucony would not or could not offer to refund, replace, or even offer a coupon for another pair. I hope you get to enjoy your pair and are able to write a review of how comfortable and stylish they are. Good luck and Godspeed, or at least a comfortable walking or running pace in your brand new Jazz 81’s
This new “81” version is garbage. Saucony changed the last after 40+ years of this shoe being perfect. It’s narrower and tighter in the toe box. It lost all the qualities that made this an epic, one of a kind retro sneaker. Now it’s just another “onitsuka tiger” fashion shoe. I wore this brand for over 25 years exclusively. Now I’m wearing new balance. Screw you Saucony. At the very least, license the old last to someone who will be faithful to the original and not screw over long time loyal customers.
I really wanted to like these and if they weren't $150 I would have kept them. For a lifestyle shoe they're pretty comfortable especially coming from Saucony. Their lifestyle shoes are always pretty harsh and worn explicitly for style. (The Shadow's and Jazz run about a full size smaller than you'd typically wear). Even the Omni 9s I got a few weeks ago are cramped a bit but acceptable. The reason for the return is these are actually cavernous. The toe box is built like a work boot and there's a lot of real estate inside once you get past the midsole. I tried them normal, locked down, loose laces and just couldn't get past how sloppy they looked from about the mid foot down to the toe box. At best I'd say these are a $80.00 shoe not $150.. They have the 90's "dad shoe" vibe that's still happening and they're comfortable than a lot of others out there and would make a great summer shoe considering how ventilated they are, but again they're just too loafy (not sure if that's a word).
I rarely leave reviews and have been a Saucony girl for almost twenty years. I have always purchased the Saucony Jazz. I work in the medical field so would always buy two pair at a time to switch out every six months. I left the Saucony brand for a couple of years but came back this year and sadly, regret that decision. In February I purchased two pair and this month was due to switch out shoes. I have only been wearing these for a couple of weeks but now have a sprained foot. The support of these shoes in the heel area is just awful. I have the shoes tied as tightly as will go just to try and stabilize fit better. By the end of the day the top of my foot is throbbing. Needless to say I am disappointed in a brand I have loved for so long. I have listed the other pair on EBay for 40 bucks for those that still love this shoe. As for me I have learned unisex shoes are not for me. Our feet are made differently. And this is where we part, Saucony. We had a nice ride together. Good luck in future endeavors.
I have been buying The Jazz for years, and thought that the Jazz 81 would be similar in comfort and fit to past generations of Jazz that I loved. I ended up very disappointed. There is no arch support. The heel feels very firm with minimal padding. The tongue is not padded. The Mesh on the footbed looks glossy and cheap. Overall, a very disappointing buy. This pair is a downgrade from my old pair. Saucony has ruined a good thing, I am contemplating switching brands at this point.
