Performance was in mind when this shoe debuted in our running line in the 80s, but now it’s all about looks and comfort. The Shadow 5000 has both of those in spades, and will keep your sneaker game fresh with these on-point colorways.

I don’t typically leave reviews, but wanted to bring to attention that the pair I bought 4 months already has the flap on the front center is pulling apart. A matter of bad adhesive? I have only worn these shoes a couple dozen times so I’m disappointed they’re already falling apart.

As a teacher and special needs Mom these sneakers are my new go-to! The most comfortable sneakers I have ever worn. I never leave reviews, but I always read them before purchasing so I felt compelled to leave this. I’m 49, with flat feet and a wide toe box. I will buy them in different colors. Thank you!

I have been an avid wearer of the Jazz, Jazz 81, and Jazz Low Pro for over a decade. I've noticed that it's been difficult to get some styles, especially at a price point that remains historically competitive, so I decided to try the Shadow 5000. Unfortunately, they've been disappointing. One issue is the lack of a way for the laces to lace through the tongue, which causes the tongue to slip into the shoe when I put them on. More of a nuisance than a real issue, but I would have liked any shoe I get these days to feature that to help make sure the tongue stays in place. Second issue is that the tread on the rear half of the shoe isn't as aggressive as the Jazz, which means that they're a bit more slippery on wet bike pedals and terrain (especially wet) like rocks. ... The worst part, though, is the reduced arch support compared to the Jazz line. A 6-mile walk a couple days ago made this abundantly clear as my ankle got increasingly sore. The soreness has persisted for a couple days now, and is worst whenever I put on these shoes and go walking again. Ordered a new pair of Jazz and can't wait to be back in the classics.

I love these sneakers! I struggle with finding cute and comfortable sneakers (that are not running sneakers). These sneakers are both! I did put an additional insole in them as they are men's sizes so gives me a little more structure. But otherwise - I can add these to my rotation of sneakers.
Out of all the Saucony shoes I have own, these have survived a lot and are still going. The leather dye has been washed out and now looks gray. However, after throwing these in the wash a few times, loss of color is the only issue with the shoe. Structurally the shoe is as good as the first day.
My only gripe with Saucony is their shipping method. This is the third shoe that I've purchased directly from their website and all three times they have shipped with the original box inside a plastic shipping bag. No kind of insulation or packing material inside this shipping bag so the box tends to get damaged in transit. All shoes should be shipped double-boxed to ensure the original box itself doesn't get damaged while in shipment. Especially for people like myself who store their shoes in the original box.
Very well made and good looking sneakers. I have replaced the insole for something more supportive and walked miles without pain. Beware: this model fits a half size smaller.
I purchased 2 pairs, one 5 months ago and another 2 months ago because I was happy with the figment and comfort of the first. The second pair different colour did not fit the same. Smaller and both shoes have wore away the internal material at the toe, and now the sewing at the toe is coming loose. 2 pairs is not a coincidence!!For shoes not lasting 6 months I would not recommend.
I got these shoes in olive and navy and they were super comfy right out of the box. I’ve worn them with and without socks, to walk around the city and to travel, and they have stayed very comfortable for hours on end. I will say my feet run a bit warm in general so when it’s been warmer outside (73+ degrees Fahrenheit) they were too warm for me, but I got them to wear during the east coast fall and winter and they are perfect for that!
These fit great -- I wear a women's 7.5 and ordered a 6. Though the Jazz Original is a smidge more comfy than the 5000 for me, these are still very comfortable. Highly recommend. The one thing that could be improved is the packaging. I don't save boxes but I have plenty of collector friends that do. These -- and many other Saucony sneakers -- deserve a more unique and stylish box. And if that were to happen, better packaging when ship so the box would arrive undamaged.
