I have been an avid wearer of the Jazz, Jazz 81, and Jazz Low Pro for over a decade. I've noticed that it's been difficult to get some styles, especially at a price point that remains historically competitive, so I decided to try the Shadow 5000. Unfortunately, they've been disappointing. One issue is the lack of a way for the laces to lace through the tongue, which causes the tongue to slip into the shoe when I put them on. More of a nuisance than a real issue, but I would have liked any shoe I get these days to feature that to help make sure the tongue stays in place. Second issue is that the tread on the rear half of the shoe isn't as aggressive as the Jazz, which means that they're a bit more slippery on wet bike pedals and terrain (especially wet) like rocks. ... MoreI have been an avid wearer of the Jazz, Jazz 81, and Jazz Low Pro for over a decade. The worst part, though, is the reduced arch support compared to the Jazz line. A 6-mile walk a couple days ago made this abundantly clear as my ankle got increasingly sore. The soreness has persisted for a couple days now, and is worst whenever I put on these shoes and go walking again. Ordered a new pair of Jazz and can't wait to be back in the classics.

I love these sneakers! I struggle with finding cute and comfortable sneakers (that are not running sneakers). These sneakers are both! I did put an additional insole in them as they are men's sizes so gives me a little more structure. But otherwise - I can add these to my rotation of sneakers.

These are so cute! I got the white/pink. The pink is more of a soft baby pink compared to the pink on this site. I ordered a half size up and they fit perfectly! I typically wear a women’s 8 and I ordered a size 7.The insoles are removeable which is great because I can put my orthotics in, however the insoles that come in them are super comfortable.I really want to purchase more but would like to see more color ways!!

I love this sneaker for every day wear, but within the first day or so out of the box the colored suede was bleeding onto the shoelaces and after a few weeks I noticed the fabric across the top of the toe box was fraying. It's a bummer because they are so comfortable but the durability is not what I was hoping for.
The photos don’t show that the toe is colored half and half. It looks so weird, I hate it. They’re comfortable, but the design of that split color on the toe drives me crazy. The other thing I hate is the laces - they’re round, which is awful to handle, but also the spacing of the lace holes isn’t even and it really hard to lace them up and tie them or to untie them. I bought them for the color scheme but when you see photos from the side you can’t see the toe colors.
The shoe looks great. Fairly comfortable. For me, it definitely fits small. I’ve never ordered a 9.5 that was too small, these are. Also, I don’t appreciate the perpetual scarcity of Saucony originals. Not cool when retailers do that (if within their control). So, Saucony let me give you a hint - have more of your Shadow 5000 in black n white available. They’re popular no? I’d like to get some that fit one day.
I have worn this shoe twice and I really like the look of it. The durability is better than I assumed for the price, and the overall look is excellent. The laces are different than what was shown in the image... that would be my only complaint/question on this shoe so far. It shows a speckled thick lace in the image but came with flat dark green laces instead. Overall, it's a great shoe and highly comfortable.
I’m a RN and I’m on my feet all night. These shoes were recommended to me by my co-workers. I have only been able to wear these 1 full 12 hour shift. The right shoe tends to rub a sore spot on the side of my heal. They are not as comfortable as my regular go to brand. I would not recommend this brand to another RN. The shoes just don’t have a good fit. I’ve tried wearing them twice and both times were very painful.
These run small. Buy at least the half size up. I’m still breaking mine in, they’re not super comfortable, unless I keep the laces loose they hurt the tops of my feet. They are cute though, the design looks nice.
These fit great -- I wear a women's 7.5 and ordered a 6. Though the Jazz Original is a smidge more comfy than the 5000 for me, these are still very comfortable. Highly recommend. The one thing that could be improved is the packaging. I don't save boxes but I have plenty of collector friends that do. These -- and many other Saucony sneakers -- deserve a more unique and stylish box. And if that were to happen, better packaging when ship so the box would arrive undamaged.
