I have to say this is not my favorite incarnation of the Speed. I know it's new and improved and some of the features, I really like, but the length of the upper and the way the tongue seems to come up higher on my ankle bone is simply a problem the longer I run. I've tried various ways of lacing them and I still get the pressure near my ankle. I never felt that with either the Speed or the Speed 2. I was going to use this Speed 3 shoe for my marathon in a couple weeks as the nylon plate is a bit more flexible and forgiving, but after doing a few long runs in it, I think I'm going to stick with my Pro 2's for the race and keep these Speed 3's for tempo runs and other training runs.

This is my fourth pair of endorphin speeds. Version 3 is much welcomed as it is a shade wider and the winged plates runs under the arch and is placed just right for support. I still get a great lock down and they have a soft pop with plenty of cushion for a broad range of runs. I am a 1:18 half marathoner and do a lot of runs in 10-14 mile range. at 6:15-6:20. I have flat feet and this is MY shoe that I have come to trust as my daily. It is also highly durable (approx 400miles). The PWRRNPB foam is resilient and worth the investment

I've run in these a couple of times, about 5 miles now. I've been running in Nimbus' since version 15 or so, skipping the narrower toe box of the 19 and 20s (I think). I don't get too technical about running. My shoes do all of my distances which are typically 5K to 10 milers. These have plenty of room in the toe box and are light. There is more support at the outer toe/toe pad area, which is probably good for supinators. Plenty of cushion but not squishy like the Nimbus 24. Less heel padding than Nimbus. Though the profile looks pretty similar, the roll off the front is greater and noticeable on uphills - definitely makes uphills easier. I wanted to try a lighter shoe and these are that. They feel really good. I will see how it goes, I don't expect them to hold up ... MoreI've run in these a couple of times, about 5 miles now. I feel like I could pluck chunks out with my fingernails. I wanted to try something different and these feel good enough to do that.

I took a chance on these. Fancied something a little faster, lighter and with more cushioning. When I tried them on out of the box, I'll admit that I thought I'd messed up. You can feel the support/nylon plate under your arch. BUT once I got out running in them, I didn't notice it at all! I love these and I'm always looking forward to getting out in them. They definitely help give me a boost in speed and have plenty of squishy comfort. They disappear into your feet and I find my legs are far less fatigued than in my other shoes. They are very breathable and I have no hot spots in them, no irritating seams and the tongue stays put. I've used them on the roads and light trails. Can't recommend these enough.
I love these sneakers they are so comfortable and since I’ve been working out I have never had such amazing sneakers like these ! The comfort level when running is so perfect , the sneaker is designed to push you forward and the impact of running is softened by the cushion sole . I’ve noticed a big difference in running with these verses my old brand that I used to train with . I also suffer from planter fasciitis so these are a perfect solution for me for running . I love the fact that they were designed in collaboration with the Children’s Hospital by Adrian ! Showing your brave , strong, and incredibly fast side with these sneakers , this is greatness for your feet and a wonderful way to give back to a great cause ! Thank you
Nice light fast shoe but softer midsole than v1/2. Version 1 and 2 midsole much stiffer and more plated snappy feel. This one is softer more flexible. Still very light. I’m slightly wider forefoot and this v3 fits better. If you previously used v1/2 as your race day plated shoe might not like the updates as much. If you’re looking for a do it all shoe then I think the update will be appreciated.
Oh Saucony, why did you change a good thing? I've really enjoyed using the Saucony Speed 1 & 2 for tempo and speed training. It wasn't a cushy shoe, but the forward roll in both iterations was amazing. It made hard efforts feel easier. The Saucony Speed 3 is not that shoe. It's ok, but after testing it out on a number of runs, it's simply going to be a long run shoe. It is cushier and the roll is gone. So now it is just average to me. Once I realized this I went and bought the remaining pairs I could find in my size in the Saucony Speed 2.
Okay, I'm an average runner (marathon PR is 5 hours 30 seconds) and speed isn't the most important thing to me. I was skeptical about these shoes, had to try them for myself. They lived up to the hype.I ran my first 10K in December (yes, I'd done marathons before a 10K) and was very happy. I alternate these with my Brooks Adrenaline shoes. When I put on these Sauconys I feel more springy and faster than usual and according to my Garmin watch, I am faster in these shoes. They just make me want to run faster and make it less hard to do so.I will be wearing these in my next marathon later this year.
The Endorphin Speed 2 has been one of my favorite shoes since it released. But for me the changes to the Speed 3 have ruined it. Not just in a "kind of don't like it" way, but absolutely "can't wear it, return immediately" way. Straight out of the box my first thought was how firm it felt, and second was that the arch hits too far back toward the heel. It fits properly everywhere else, so I don't think sizing up would help. But after just having it on and trying to walk around on a carpeted surface for a minute, it was making my arch hurt. I put them aside, tried again the next day, and quickly decided the risk of pain and arch issues isn't worth it (no matter how much I love the looks of the Speed 3!) I also liked the updated upper. The last cycle the Speed 2 was my go-to shoe for light training and everyday use, and the Pro 2 was for heavy training. Now, the Pro 3 is my go-to and I'll have to skip the Speed 3 entirely. Maybe I'll look into the Shift again, as I haven't tried it since Model 1. And please, Saucony, give us the cool color ways on the Pro 3 like the Speed 3 (the Sophia, the bright yellow, the white/gold)...
Overall I'm enjoying training in these shoes. They have the right amount of support for me and yet feel quite light on my feet. I've only put about 100 miles on them so far, so I can't comment on their durability, but so far they've shown almost no visible wear, which is a great sign. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is the redesign from the Endorphin Speed 2, which was wearing for about a year before I got these, that removed the tongue slot that lets you run the laces through and keeps the tongue from slipping. I can't fathom why Saucony chose to remove that. Despite the more integrated tongue, the tongue on these shoes is very prone to sliding down, which I found uncomfortable. This was a change that it seems like Saucony designers either didn't think through carefully enough or didn't test thoroughly enough. There's really no good reason for this reduction in comfort on long runs. One other small issue is the laces themselves. Saucony, please never, every use stiff, round laces on running shoes! Such laces belong on hiking boots, not running shoes. They don't stay tied, no matter how tight I make the knot. Running shoe laces should be soft and flat to provide the best ability to stay tied during a long run.
