Great for backpacking treks or long hikes, the Hydration Pack Fast Fill Adapters allow you to fill your hydration pack reservoir directly from your Sawyer screw on/off water filter without removing it from your backpack. The adapters attach directly to the 1/4-inch drinking tube on most hydration reservoirs (hydration pack and filter sold separately). This set of Hydration Pack Fast Fill Adapters is compatible with the Point ONE, Point ONE All-in-One, and MINI water filtration systems.

I was piecing together a gravity feed water filter system and I thought I had it working. Went on a backpacking trip with our Boy Scout troop and found I still need the quick disconnect fitting. We had to hold the tube into the fitting on the dirty water bag, spilling about half of the contents.Found this while shopping around, it had the connector for the clean water bag also, and ended up with an extra quick disconnect, so it fulfilled me needs plus some. Now the only thing I wished it had was a shut off valve, but that does not take away from supplying the needs I had.

Fits perfectly on a Platypus bladder. The packaging didn't mention use with a Sawyer Mini, but Sawyer's videos show how - you just use the tube and skip the blue screw piece. I don't even bother squeezing; it works perfectly to just stand and rest for a couple minutes while water flows back into the bladder. Even in a fully packed bag, no problems getting the bladder to fill up, no spills, and no dirty water dripping into an open container. Probably the single piece of backpacking gear I'm MOST fully thrilled with.

I hiked 600 miles with the old design attached to my Platypus inline with quick attachments. It took less than 2 minutes to fill my reservoir and move on. For cooking, I detached the bite valve and filled my pot. Simple, easy, light weight and few parts to break or loose.I have no desire to haul a second bag and fool around finding the filter, bag and all the parts to fill 2 bags.

This is a great idea, especially if you have a water system that sits inside the pack down your back.. too much trouble to pull it out (to refill) when your pack is in full load. I really like the Sawyer, simple to use. What doesn't work is if the Sawyer is the smaller size. This Adapter kit won't fit it. Has to be the medium/large size. So I couldn't use it on my hike, but other s in my gang did use it and loved it!
This adapter is lightweight, easy to assemble, in expensive, and makes your water filter system more versatile and easier to use. I recommend this adapter for anyone using the sawyer mini water filter. Layout your system before assembly or cutting tubes. Once you have it laid out, you should be able to use the quick connects to connect your filter to your dirty water bag, and clean water bag. When you are done filtering, you should be able to reconnect the bite valve using quick connects.
I have a couple older water bladders (platypus) and used this to turn them into a gravity filter system utilizing the sawyer mini.Cheaper and much more versatile system than the gravity filters. On the trail, I carry a 3l of dirty water and drink out of the in-line sawyer. My wife drinks out of the clean bag. When we need to fill, I dip my bag, hook my hose up to hers, and gravity filter hers full. After, I disconnect, fill again and go.At camp we leave them set up as a gravity system hanging in a tree. All works great!
I bought this recently to avoid having to remove my bladder every time that I needed to fill it. I like it except that once the connection is broken the water flow isn't blocked so you have to keep it plugged with a finger or something. I know these quick connects can lock the flow because my Platypus Big Zip has a similar set up that doesn't leak when disconnected. As far as fit; This product worked great on my Big Zip hose, that has an Osprey mouthpiece on it. So I'm not sure why there's so many reviews about it not working with certain hoses. I actually replaced a camelbak Big Bite with the osprey piece. So all four major brands worked with the Platypus hose.
I was looking at this along with a micro squeeze 4 feeling new platypus big zip. As I knew the adapter was meant for 1/4 inch hose, and many manufacturers are moving to 5/16 for increased flow, I called Sawyer to ask for suggestions. I was told that a one quarter-inch adapter inserted in 5/16 hose would leak. Brilliant. I said, "That's the reason for my call." Was told to purchase bladders with 1/4 inch hose. LOL.
As mentioned, this Sawyer Adapter kit won't work out of the box with Osprey hoses. Both Osprey and Source bladders use a 3/8" diameter hose while Camelbak use a 1/4" diameter hose. The good news is that you can mix and match hoses or buy the connectors from the OEM manufacturer (US Plastics). When set up properly, this adapter works like a charm and I would highly recommend if you want to directly filter into your water bladder without unpacking your pack. A couple of recommendations: first, make sure the connector on your hydration hose is a "shut off" connector. When you disconnect and "squeeze" the water into your bladder, it will be under pressure and as soon as you disconnect the filter it will shoot out water and get your pack soaked. When you disconnect and "squeeze" the water into your bladder, it will be under pressure and as soon as you disconnect the filter it will shoot out water and get your pack soaked. Second, you will have to periodically make sure your bladder is relieved of extra air. I usually just filled it every morning and made sure I removed as much as air as possible; without doing that, the pressure becomes too great to squeeze the filtered water into the bladder.I've added connectors to Osprey, Source and Camelbak bladders and the adapter works as advertised once set up properly. We prefer Osprey water bladders, so the larger 3/8" connectors are a must.
You only need to find yourself out in nature once without water before you become a little obsessed with proper hydration.Bought a few of these to customize my reservoir. Works well with both Camelbak and Platypus.I can now quickly refill my reservoir while inside my pack using a Sawyer squeeze (or similar filter), or if needed I can simply attach said filter to my line and filter dirty water directly from my reservoir. Not much to say. Gives you the necessary parts to adjust and customize your set up to your liking.
