I own a few Scanpan knives and this one, like all of them, is an excellent value. Very sharp out of the box, holds a good edge, nice balance and grip. I highly recommend, far superior to some of the more expensive knives I own.

A superb knife!

This is my favourite knife for slicing, carving, mincing and chopping. I have small hands and this 18cm blade is the perfect length, weight and balance for me. This knife is approximately 6 or 7 years old and not a day goes by when I don't use it but it is still in near new condition. I care for it by storing it with other knives in a knife block and I use a knife steel on it generally once a week (as you know, the knife steel does NOT sharpen the knife, it just straightens the blade's feather edge). I use a whet stone on the blade a few times a year. It's easy to understand why Scanpan guarantee this knife's quality for 10 years, it is superb!

I'm in love with my Scanpan Classic Santorum Knife. I spent most of Sunday, last week, chopping up a ton of veggies and a Half ton of Beef for a gallon drum of Beef and Veggie soup. And, This Bad Boy performed like a true Champ (the Knife). Me... not so much!!! Made my job so much easier. Sharp, well weighted and so comfortable to use. So if your looking for a sharp, comfortable helper in the kitchen, this is it. And good looking too!

Classic Knife at a good price
2 May 2018

This is the style of knife I wanted at an extremely good price. I've had Global knives for years but once they loose their edge, it's impossible for a mare mortal to get it back. A year or o ago I switched to Scanpan knives and love them. Easy to sharpen and keep sharp. This Santoku style knife jut adds to my collection and is great for chopping veggies. I highly recommend you add one to your knife drawer.

Scanpan Classic Santoku, 18cm
9 November 2019

Purchased to compliment my Scanpan Classic knife block set. The Santoku type blade makes a very universal knife that can be used for many cutting chores. It is very good for cheese, cold meat lettuce and tomato slicing for sandwiches. Virtually an all round knife in the kitchen. Very happy with the product and the service from Everten.

Scanpan Santuko knives

Did have a favourite knife till these came along. The smaller one is now my go to knife for most food prep, nicely balanced, stays sharp and when it needs to be sharpened doesn't take much. The bigger one great if you need a bit more grunt on the chopping board. Can't go passed them, good value for the price.

So **** It's Cute
7 October 2018

That's what my father used to say about the CitroΓ«n DS. And I agree: this isn't the most beautiful, or elegant, knife in my block, but it's become my go-to, since I received it.I used to use a 6" santoku for my everyday work, not realising that this length existed. But somehow β€” maybe because I have fairly fine hands, or because I'm getting old? β€” this knife has taken over my daily usage. It's light, balanced, and ridiculously sharp, making it perfect for small vegetable chopping/slicing. Its short length and fine balance make it a wonder for onions, garlic, carrots, tomatoes, shallots β€” anything requiring detailed work beyond the chopping reach of a paring knife.Perfect design, fine steel, wonderful blade. Go for it!

The best knife I've ever used!
19 February 2018

WOW this is some knife! It's the best I've ever used, it just glides through without effort which is a godsend to my sore wrist. After trying many knives including ceramic (which was ultra expensive and thought it was the greatest) this one runs rings around them all. By the way, that ceramic was a tad smaller than the Sankatu and cost just under $100 and this one is way better. I'm definitely converted. Doesn't matter what's being sliced or chopped this knife does the job with ease. I actually really enjoy using it. Thank you so much for making it so affordable too. :-D

Top quality knife
17 August 2015

When I ordered this knife I thought the handle was coated in silicone but it's not its all steel construction and very high quality, the blade is also razor sharp. Previously I bought a Global brand vegetable knife in a similar form, great knife but the handle is a bit thin and becomes wearing on your hand. I would recommend this scanpan knive over the global knife as the handle is far more comfortable. I liked this knife so much I am going to buy the 18cm version and buy another pair for a gift for my sister. kitchen warehouse was very fast delivery and great prices as always.

What a Delight!
12 October 2018

This isn't the most elegant knife in my block, but it's quickly become the most used! My cooking is heavy on the vegetarian end, so I do a lot of slicing, dicing, and chopping; and my favourite used to be a 15cm santoku no more! This homely (in both senses of the word) little blade is perfect: glides through ripe tomatoes, makes quick work of celery, and the extra force and precision provided by the length make preparing veggies a real pleasure. Razor sharp out of the box, and amazing value for the price! Christmas is coming, and this would make an ideal gift for your favourite chef. He or she is bound to love it!
