I have a couple of Scanpan Chef's knives now one I've had for about 8 years and I've been happy with the brand. This one is becoming a daily favourite, all knives have a different feel, different 'hold' if that makes sense and I like the feel of this one. It would be difficult to cut oneself whilst using it which is pretty important. I never put my good knives in the dishwasher which helps them last I think. 4 Stars not because of problems, I just prefer finer blades, cost is the issue with those but overall I'm very happy with the Scanpan brand and the specials are always good.

Unfortunately compared to the original knives they are replacing the quality is very poor and for new knives would not even sharp.This is very disappointing as the original Scanpan knives were fantastic.I am required to sharpen these before I can put them to use.I have attached pictures of both the old and new so you may be able to notice the quality difference.The new knives weigh half as much as the original knives.I would suggest that you review the supplier and question the quality.

Cuts like butter!

This is my first knife that I've bought for myself. I'm already a fan of Scanpan as I like their pots and pans so I thought I'd go with their knife as well. Amazing. From blunt knives that struggle to cut through a capsicum, even after sharpening, to literally cutting through anything with ease, this knife won me over as soon as I used it. It's pretty light and holds comfortably in my hands, the curve under the handle allows for a comfortable grip and a nice place to rest your finger.I highly recommend.

Great kitchen knife.

Lovely to use, sharp. This is the third same one I have purchased, first was in the set purchased a good 10 years ago. Second one I have given to a friend, Given first one to my son. Highly recommend this knife and others in different sizes that can be purchased. I Use them every day. Sharpens beautifully.

Great knife, good value

Nicely balanced and well made knife with a decent forging into a good handle that fits nicely into the hand; it isn't a knife made form a pressed steel sheet with a handle formed around one end. Blade is well designed so that sharpening actually works as not all knives are able to sustain an edge after a few resharpenings. Excellent value and would recommend (and we have a few knives with which to compare).

Metal broke in half

This is the first “nice” knife I’ve owned. Got it on our wedding registry and in less than two years the metal literally broke in half. I reached out to customer service and they were unwilling to do anything at all - their recommendation was actually that I go purchase a new knife??? Wouldn’t recommend. I’ve never seen metal break in half like this. Very cheap product.

Scanpan Cook's knife

A good knife. A cross between a French and a German pattern. A bit heavy in the handle and a bit light in the blade, not very well balanced. In spite of that it is comfortable to use. I have found that the extra weight in the handle makes chopping herbs a little easier, the knife is less inclined to rebound on hitting the board. One nice touch is that the edges on the back have been broken, something that is missing on Wurstoff, Sabatier, Mundial and the rest. The semi pistol grip handle is different to the knife mentioned above. I think that for those with arthritis in the wrists it may be a more comfortable knife to handle. Give my reguards to Broadway.

Surprising knife

I bought this because I have good experiences with Scanpan products and I liked its design. After using it for a few months, it has become one of my favorite knives. It is shockingly sharp and holds its edge. Great knife!
