Love it! I bought this frying pan to replace my saute pan which is worn out due to improper usage. My glass lid fits this pan perfectly and the most important thing is it is much lighter than the saute pan one. By the way, don't trust the lifetime warranty, there will always be some reasons to reject your request. Read other reviews regarding this. Never seen any review saying it works. Just don't use it with medium heat. If you wait long enough, it will be super hot!!!

Considering this product cost a great deal of money, I can honestly say that the cheap $6 non brand frying pan I bought from IKEA is soooo much better. Just because it is a Scanpan brand does not mean it is better than others, it just means that it is more expensive. I am very disappointed with this product and will not purchase this brand again

This frying pan was returned/replaced, as it was discovered to be too shallow for cooking multiple things we cook in our household - asking for too much over flow/spitting/ messy stoves. It was just a shame the 20cm frypan wasn’t 2-3cm deeper, otherwise things may have reconsidered.I made sure I got correct depth ones upon re-ordering though, as they’ve been tremendously user friendly. :-) The likes of these frypans is they’re easy to cook with and so easy to clean with non-stick assistance. They’re also not hot handled when using either which is appreciated, and you don’t need oils/butters to cook with, which is great, that’s your choice of course. But even if you do, you only have to leave to cool, and they virtually clean under a quick rinse - awesome - no ... MoreThis frying pan was returned/replaced, as it was discovered to be too shallow for cooking multiple things we cook in our household - asking for too much over flow/spitting/ messy stoves. Really pleased with these. Purchased four in different sizes, They cook well - am using on Miele gas top. Get super hot fast but respond well to heat reduction. Lovely non stick surface. Look good too and wash very easily. Last time I purchased expensive frypans was more than ten years ago - they were always disappointing so I’ve been buying cheapies and renewing regularly. But very glad I’ve invested in these - I think they are here for the long haul.

Best skillets ever
21 January 2018

I have already purchased four different classic items from scanpan, and I am going to order two more of the 8”, and 10” pans. I use them all the time; I want to have two more of the ones I have so that I am able to prepare food for each of us at the same time.I am still going to purchase more pans from this company that is from Denmark for real. I have Viking pans that are still great; but I am still even more impressed with this company’s product more than any other. It indicates that one may use the dishwasher, and metal cooking utensils for these pans; I prefer to hand wash them, and to use a good product for cooking utensils that are made with excellent materials that are silicone spatulas that I also hand wash too. It takes only two minutes for this handwashing, and I would prefer to keep my pans in the best condition possible, for a two minute cleanup it’s very worth it to me! A great pan, and at a great price.

Handle broke on 2 different pans
16 May 2019

I used a Scanpan in a recent cooking class, and I was very impressed with their quality. I also liked the fact that there were no handle rivets inside the pan. So I order a 12½ inch model here at W&S. The package arrived, but the handle was broken in transit. I then ordered a replacement, and the second one also arrived with a broken handle. I'm not sure whether it's the product or how it was packaged, but it suspect the handles are too fragile. I'm not taking a third chance. I'll have to try the more expensive model with a riveted metal handle.

Hubby can't destroy it

We've had the wide range of those other 'non-stick' pans for ages. No matter what I said, my family and hubby in particular, always used metal utensils on them and I was forever replacing them and repeating ""Black on black, metal on metal.""Decided to give Scanpan a try even though I was doubtful. Started with the 8"" pan and it quickly became the 'go to' pan for everything from eggs to grilled cheese. In fact, it just sits on top the range. No sense putting it away. It cleans up fast, doesn't stick, requires very little fat or oil (in fact none works well, too), and isn't bothered by metal spatulas at all. It feels solid, but not too heavy, and has a nice balance. Here's something else about the pan besides the nonstick quality it has a nice flat bottom. Even with the curved sides, there's good 'cook space.' Be aware though, for people who are upgrading from standard skillets, this one has a disk on the underside for even heating. What this means is that it takes longer to heat to searing temps. I usually just put a drop of water in it to see if the water beads and bounces to see when it's ready. At first I hesitated because of the cost, but in the long run, it's definitely more cost effective to get a Scanpan than to keep replacing the cheaper pans that don't last as long or take a beating. I'm replacing all my skillets with Scanpan

Lasted only 3 years

At first, this pan was great. I cleaned it after every use, never used anything abrasive on it, and yet it lost its luster and non-stick ability and generally looks like an old, used, low-quality pan. The company claims to have a lifetime warranty, but the warranty is essentially useless as it covers almost nothing. When contacting their warranty department, they sent pictures of all the things that were not covered, which again, is basically everything. I'm very disappointed that I spent so much money on a pan that lasts as long as much less expensive alternatives. If the warranty was legitimate, and I could get a replacement or repair, I would have given 5 stars since it initially was a good pan.

Nice at First - Fails with Use
10 November 2017

I have had this pan for years. It was great at first and I used it as my go-to skillet. Nothing stuck to it. And even though they claim you can use metal utensils on it, I never did. I only used wood, plastic, or silicone. Nor did I put it in the dishwasher. I babied it! But after many years, the surface is now scratched up and is no longer non-stick. I contacted the manufacturer to get a warranty replacement and was sent back an email indicating the damage was due to my abuse of it and not a failure of the material itself and they would not be replacing it under warranty. If using the pan frequently is considered abuse, I guess I'm guilty. But I sure don't know how they can claim it would stand up to metal utensils!
