Schmincke Primacryl Professional Heavy Body Acrylic Paint is a premium, eco-friendly artist acrylic colour that is highly pigmented with excellent lightfastness. In 2025, Schmincke improved the formulation of Primacryl to create a professional quality acrylic paint that is more sustainable and free from microplastics. The paint features an innovative binder without synthetic polymer microparticles, making it microplastic-free. Out of the 90 colours, 89 are free from animal-based ingredients, and all tubes, jars, and bottles are made using recycled plastics. The heavy body consistency of Primacryl Artists' Acrylics makes them ideal for expressive brushstrokes and texture as well as smooth brushwork when thinned with water. There is minimal colour shift between the wet and dry states for accurate colour matching, and the range offers the highest possible lightfastness of four and five stars. All cadmium colours are cadmium-free, using formulations that accurately match these colours.
