I only have about 15 dives on it, but I am in love. Drys quick as advertised and the material seems extremely resilient to just about everything. Plenty of attachment points and for me it is just plain ergonomically correct. Once fitted and adjusted it stays put and becomes an extension of yourself. Bit clingy if your shirtless, but I dive with a rash gaurd or suit 98% of the time. I am replacing a 15 year Seaquest Balance and this is definitely an upgrade. Not because of age, just technical advances.

Purchased this BCD for my 14yr old daughter whom is 5ft7, used Scubapro size guide charts. Slightly borderline for small/ medium. Went for the medium and is a great fit. She used it for the first time today and was sooo excited. She commented on how much more freedom she felt whilst diving with the Hydros BCD compared to a normal BCD. Also commented on great buoyancy control. It comes with a great Scubapro backpack to transport, there is enough room in backpack for her Scubapro rock boots, hood, gloves, mask and dive computer. We are really pleased with our investment in this BCD, although it is expensive. Time will of course tell how robust it is. My only negative thought is the pricing of the accessories. Great, speedy service and delivery from Mikes Divestore. ... MorePurchased this BCD for my 14yr old daughter whom is 5ft7, used Scubapro size guide charts. Slightly borderline for small/ medium. Streamlined, fairly lightweight and packs down to a compact size, and also durable to withstand daily use - travel light and ideal for teaching, it really is the perfect bcd that does both. Also incredibly comfy despite its barren appearance. Only downside is the additional cost incurred by purchasing all the necessary accessories which in my opinion should be included. Does however come with a very nice bag with plenty of room for more gear beyond the bcd. Despite being originally sent the wrong size, customer service was excellent in issuing a replacement one and refunding both the cost of next day courrier return for the bcd immediately.

Awesome BC!
12 October 2017

Amazing BC, it dries a lot quicker than all of my friends BCs'. The add on components were a really cool design! It comes with a travel strap so if you want it to be sleek in a tropical area while vacationing. Its extremely simple to switch the straps. The replacement of parts is genius i have had to replace a strap and the process was easy and simple! this BC will last forever. BUT... its extremely expensive.. is it worth it? it all depends if you are a serious diver.. if you are than YES! but if you're the occasional diver, than no need to get this BCD. I would do 5 stars but i just cant with the price of this BC compared to other back-flate BC's.

Buy this!

Awesome BCD! Just got done diving with the HYDROs out in the Philippines. The Large size was perfect for a 5' 5" 185 lbs person. I carried it on with me with just the BCD, Wetsuit, Dive Comp and the mask as it is light weight. This is awesome for divers with a bit of tummy because the lower locking mechanism can sit below the tummy :-). Very comfortable on my back coming up the outrigger boat. A must buy for SCUBAPRO lovers.

Dries super fast

Dries super quickly! It was easy to remove the weight pockets and replace with the basic strap. Love it!I wish it came with instructions on how to change the weight straps, and the Air2 hose. Had to look up a video on YouTube for the pockets, and haven't done the Air2 replacement yet.

Horrible BCD
23 July 2021

This is an absolute nightmare of a BCD. After only 70 dives, it started falling apart. The final straw was a trip to NC this past weekend and BOTH rubber shoulder straps broke at the seams. Their warranty is only for 2 years while most others offer a lifetime warranty. Their customer service is very nasty also.

The buckle across the chest is too small to allow fast removal of BCD during an emergency. Please note I have not used this latest BCD. However it appears to have the same chest buckle size as my 2010 Scubapro Knighthawk BCD.When one removes a BCD the natural first reach is towards the waist level attachments. During my Rescue Diver certification, it became apparent that if one removes the BCD waist attachments first the chest strap can rise up towards the neck and become very difficult to undo especially with gloves on. Thus, much valuable time is lost removing one's own or another person's BCD even at the surface. This was pointed out to Scubapro. Scubapro Hydros Pro BCD Womens M

I currently have a Scubapro Bella BCD. It is difficult to get into due to the shoulder straps being short, me being a mature diver and not as flexible as I was and having to reach backwards, so I always need help to get in. I recently won a £100 voucher in Mike’s Dive Store Draw (it really happened, I couldn’t believe it) so that gave me the option to consider a BCD with “fancy features”. I watched the videos and decided on the Hydros Pro, mainly because it has long shoulder straps, they are held forward due to the shape of the shoulder and it comes with loads of D rings to clip things on and keep kit tidy. I don’t need the side pockets as they are too rigid and awkward to get into on my current BCD, so this is ideal. I don’t need the side pockets as they are too rigid and awkward to get into on my current BCD, so this is ideal. I haven’t used it in the water yet but have tried on my complete kit at home and I can get the BCD on by myself. It feels really comfortable and lighter than what I’m used to. It looks so tidy. I love the bag that it packs up into and is really neat and delighted that the material the BCD is made of dries immediately. Can’t wait to get into the water with it. Had it not been for winning the draw I probably wouldn’t have been able to afford it, but that was a real bonus. The only bit of advice I would give is that not all Scubapro knives fit on the modular holder. I bought the wrong knife and couldn’t find a video on how to actually attach it. On phoning the shop and sending in photos we were able to determine that the knife was too large. The ones that fit are the Scubapro White Tip and also the Scubapro Mako knife. I didn’t think that was clear. A video on how to actually attach it to the accessory plate would be very helpful. I’ve returned the larger knife and I am ordering the White Tip. Love my kit, great service. Thank you for everything. Lynne

Very well engineered, close to the body
20 September 2021

The materials are the best in the business. What is best about the BCD is that it fits so close to the body and is very light weight. I found the weight sockets to be easy to use and very functional. The idea of adding the small D-ring accessories is good however the D-rings and bungee add-on are not very useful. A few more large stainless steel D-Rings would be better. The bottom dump valve is perfect for forward descents. So far I am very happy with it. Yes you will have to pay the Scubapro price but that name does mean something other than prestige.
