I am a huge fan of Premo! Sculpey polymer clay. Since our school did not have a kiln, I had to come up with other ways to create a clay sculpture. After much experimenatation, Premo is my first choice! Using the pasta machine totally engages the students in thier work. My only challenge has been the date of manufacture of the clay, as it can get hard over time. Look on the side of the package for an 8 digit number, such as "14061212". This means it was manufactured in 2014, month 6, or June. If it was manufactured within the past year, the clay is usually good. Otherwise, you may need to add some emulcifier to it for workability. The works below are by middle school students.

I wanted an array of colors that I wasn't able to find at any local craft stores and that's exactly what I got. The small (1 oz.) pkgs are sufficient to make a small set of beads or become part of a larger cane. My only problem was trying to figure out which colors were which - I might have recycled the packaging too soon - thought the listing of numbers followed by colors was going to be on each individual packet so saved that part of the package and recycled the rest. However, none of the packet numbers matched the ones on the piece of packaging I saved. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, it doesn't really matter to me that much but might make someone else hoppin' mad. These are very easy to work with and fun to make creations with! Made my first pair of earrings and gave them as a gift! Was surprised by the glow in the dark clay which makes it fun in black lights. Baked easily and no cracks! Highly recommended for the beginner!

I really like sculpey premo clay. It is easy to work with, pliable and holds details well. I'm writing this review to enter a #sweepstakes with Blicks, but that's not the only reason. I am letting you know it is a good quality clay. I have used others that have become brittle after baking or too squishy to work with at all, but not PREMO. I use premo and souffle for all my work/art!! AND Lucky me Bicks had it in stock when I ordered, it was fresh clay!!
I like the idea of an oven just for polymer clay.It's very basic and simple to use. The things I didn't like about it is that the temperature is not 100% accurate, you must have an oven thermometer. Also, the bottom tray has an opening in the back of the oven (like it came dented and doesn't fully close. I wonder if that is making heat escape? Another thing is that, I wished it came with a tray besides the rack given the price. And lastly, I experience strong smells in the beginning which I know it's normal, but still have a little smell, after a few uses.
I was eager to use this item, but the gears ground and caught on all the lower settings. I was in the process of tightening and testing and recruited my partner for their expertise, but we both found it so frustrating that they offered to just buy me any other brand on the spot rather than deal with it any further. My online troubleshooting did turn up a lot of difficulty with the machine, and I regretted choosing it. But thanks to the stimulus checks, we're just getting another.

I also teach classes and recommended Premo to all of my students. Not any more. The new formulations are softer than Sculpey III (a child's clay) and cannot even hold a shape of a bead, much less perform as needed to make millifiore, canes and intricate designs. Sure it is easy too handle - but it is impossible to make intricate designs with it - and that is the #1 reason why most people use polymer clay. I really hope that Polyform goes back to the lab and comes up with a formula that is much stiffer and firmer than the current Premo - the new colors are ... MoreI am a polymer artist. Take a hint form the clays out there that professionals use (Fimo, Kato, Pardo - all stiff clays that carry a design with clear sharp lines and bake up strong and flexible) - we are the ones that are teaching folks and making recommendations....The new Premo hasn't been out long enough for me to make a judgment on it's post-cured strength and durability, but if it anything like it's counterpart, Sculpey, people's projects will fall apart, crack, and break easily if dropped within 2-3 years of it being made. I sell my products as well and I do not want to create and inferior product that will disappoint my customers.
I did not like this clay at all, but I probably bought it for the wrong purpose. It is rock hard . You cannot roll it or push it together, it just clumps up and breaks apart and hurts your hands when you try to mold it in anyway. Not a good choice for making small sculptures or things like that. Maybe adding softener would help but I didn't want to buy any. Otherwise, good packaging and good presentation of the product. I would suggest researching what kind of clays to use for your specific craft before buying it.
I personally have not used this product. However, I have a 22yr old grandson in the Autism spectrum that sculpts. Prior to this he has refused to use any other medium but modeling clay. Amazingly he took to this product right away and is thrilled with the things he has been able to create. Looking forward to purchasing more for him and any of the xtras and tools to encourage him on his way. TY for your prompt delivery also.
