Well ... frankly the Manual could be better ... But it is a great great mike, esp. for voice-overs. It hears everything with no sibliance and is quiet. Sing though it? It is not as flattering as a normal ribbon mike but it hears everything and softens it A great great mike if you are sick of the comparatively harsh sound of big diaphragm condensers & if you need a mike for recording talking, this is the one. I put mine through a Grace Designs m-101 and use the "Ribbon" setting ... p.s. Bear in mind this is not a Cardiod directional mike. It's an * and will hear almost everything in the room. So you will need to think about deading the back of the mike if you want to use it for only 1 voice
