Sea To Summit Alpha Pot - 2.7 L

The Sea to Summit Alpha Cookware started with the desire to create an extremely lightweight, high-quality cooking system without compromising on durability or functionality. Both the Alpha Pans and Alpha Pots are made of a high spec hard anodised premium alloy, allowing them to be thinner and lighter but still extremely strong and durable. A sandblasted base adds texture making them more stable on a camp stove. Pivoting on a single horizontal axis, the Pivot-Lock handle on the Alpha Pot locks firmly in place when cooking giving a secure grip with no danger of the handle collapsing. When not in use, the Pivot-Lock handle rotates inward and locks the lid and nested contents securely in place. The Alpha Pot lid also features an easy flow strainer as well as the patent pending Lid Keep - an innovative design allowing the Alpha Pot lid to hook to the pot rim keeping it out of the dirt and giving you the ability to use both hands for other tasks. Designed to be functional for solo to group use, the compact nesting Alpha Pots are compatible with Alpha Pans and our new DeltaLight range of camp dinnerware. From extreme expeditions to family camping, the versatile and compact Alpha series is ideal for all outdoor adventures. Available in 1.2L, 1.9L, 2.7L and 3.7L.

Alpha pots and frypans are great additions to our cooking arsenal !!

And they compact down and nest together nicely, allowing them to be stored easily in one of our galley drawers in minimal space - a huge bonus for us.We especially love the clever “never-lose-handles"!! We accidentally dropped our bear bag with this in the bottom from about 10 feet up, and there is not even a dent in the pot.

Once in a while, you come across an almost perfectly designed thing. It's a nice feeling. As much as you can design a cooking pot, this one has a bunch of nice little features that make it something you can use for a long time. I like the gradations on the inside of the pot for volume, and the closing design is strong, doesn't come loose, and doesn't rattle. The tab on the inside of the lid allows you to hook the lid on the pot, rather than lay it on a table, which is genius. No more accidentally knocking the lid into the dirt, or getting food on the table.A nice piece of design that will last a long time, and you'll enjoy using it. If you're okay with not using a heat exchanger pot, this is probably the best option on the market. Great Pot - needs a bit of TLC though
10 July 2023

This is a great lightweight and pretty durable pot. The one problem is the handle system. There is a lock to keep the handle from jiggling around, but it is not really needed. Just placing the handle into the notch is so sturdy that without the correct pull you will bend your pot. The instructions are listed on the pot on how to fold it but are a bit vague. The natural instinct is to just crank on the handle to fold it back in, and this will bend the pot. You just gotta be weary of whos handling your pot so they don't bend it.

Great pot

Love this pot. very light weight and perfect for two people. holds the Delta light bowl set and my camp stove while stored in my pack. holds the perfect amount of water for two to make ramen bombs, two cups of tea each and enough left over to wash hands and wash the bowls and sporks.

I'm extremely happy with my
8 July 2022

I'm extremely happy with my Alpha 1.9L. I purchased and returned all the big names equivalent pots both in anodized and titanium ultimately choosing the Alpha. What was I looking for you ask?1. Large enough but not too much so as to be able to nest another brand's universal fuel stove and pump.2. Comparable weight to similar sized pots3. Tight fitting lid with strainer and a practical lid grab4. Solid handle (system) Bonus: it also locks down the lid and keeps contents tight inside pot when in travel5. Volumetric markingsThe Alpha met and exceeded my needs, and I can highly recommend purchasing it.

Light, good size for 1 or a squeeze for 2
1 June 2020

This is a great standard lightweight backcountry pot. Overall I'm happy with my purchase and I believe it will serve me well for a long time. The pot has a locking handle system but I sometimes have a hard time engaging the additional plastic locking system piece. I'm interested to see how long term wear on the handle attachment and swivel unit affects it over time. I also like to pack my pots with the lid off to put a water bottle inside it or other larger items, with this design that isn't possible becuase of that attached handle swivel system. It's a great sized pot for 1 eating a large meal or two squeezing down or for light eaters. Definitely enough for two coffees in the morning!

My 1.9 pot has a major defect
16 July 2021

Received my pot today. Locked in the handle and now I'm unable to pivot it back without warping the pot and breaking something. The locking mechanism moves out of the way, but the metal part won't budge, so it's stuck there. I watched a few videos to see if I I'm doing something wrong, and no I'm not. I just sent an email to Sea to Summit and after sending it, I got a notice that said it may take a few days for them to get back to me. I don't have a few days! I've already spent my budget on supplies for a backpacking adventure I'm going on with my son and this is very inconvenient. This is obviously a pretty important piece of equipment for us. I'M SO BUMMED.

Pretty useful but lid rubber handle tearing off and handle not always secure
17 July 2022

I have the 2.7L pot. Very useful to cook for 2-4 people. Good volume. Sits on the liquid fuel stoves (MSR Dragonfly and Optimus Polaris) well. The diameter is not too big or too small. The problems I have are 1) the rubber knob on the lid is tearing off after several years of light use (2-3 trip/year, <5 days each). This is purely due to swinging handle over the knob when it is moved over the lid for storage. So, it is a design flaw. If the knob completely falls off I cannot pick up the lid!2) the lock mechanism on the handle is not clear when it is locked. It may look locked but actually be unlocked. So, when you are pouring boiling water the handle may suddenly collapse with very painful consequences.Other than that, pretty good.

Smaller pots didn't nest inside
9 August 2020

I own the 1.2L & 1.9L pots, was going to add the 2.7L. The 1.2L nests inside the 1.9L and the lid can lock. I wanted to add this 2.7L pot and assumed i could nest the smaller sizes inside as the description states 4 sizes nest inside each other for 'compact packing'. I found the 1.9L pot will fit inside the 2.7L but will not allow you to fasten the lid as it's just a bit too tall. To nest the two i already own inside this one, i would need to pack the lid separately or carry two stacks of pots. I chose this product line though to avoid having to do that. I like the 1.2L & 1.9L a lot. Really light and compact, nest together just fine with space inside the smallest for a couple items. I'll be taking this 2.7L back to the store though and i'm disappointed it didn't ... MoreI own the 1.2L & 1.9L pots, was going to add the 2.7L. The 1.2L nests inside the 1.9L and the lid can lock.
