Bought these for the cups with the lids, as at the time they were the only ones available on REI that didn't have reviews with people saying they had a funky smell. Well, I'm here to tell you: these have a funky smell. The smell is limited to the lids, however, so if you skip the lids, you're fine. But I'd wanted this set mostly for its insulated mugs with lids, so not being able to use the lids kind of defeats the purpose for me.I scrubbed the tops hard with soap, vinegar, and even some barkeepers friend in an attempt to remove the smell but nothing seems to have worked.As others have mentioned, the utensils are also so-so. The bag has no room for anything else in it really. I bought a set of Sea to Summit plates in hopes I could fit them in the bag with the bowls but no luck.

Perfect for what I needed. 2 sets of different colored dishes for my 2 grandkids for camp.

I was using a metal plate, bow, and mug before getting the Delta Light camp set. I was curious about this one--especially because of it being lighter than metal dishes. But let's get into what I didn't like. The cutlery is too flimsy and the knife really doesn't do much. The lids can be a bit challenging to secure on the cups. The size of the bowls is a bit too small for me, although this one is more subjective to the individual. The good things about Delta Light--great colour, the cups are a good size and the cup cozies are made to keep things hot longer. The bowls are nice and deep. The plastics used to make this set are quite good (except the cutlery). For most people, this set is light and packs small. Just bring your own cutlery.
