Amazing sleeping pad. My go to pad now.

Great pad. Thick and warm and comfortable. It’s a bit noisier than my thermarest prolite pad of the same R value, but the comfort of this Ether Lite XT is way better. The ease of inflating this bag is incredible. Only 5 easy breaths and it’s inflated compared to thermarest prolite plus sleeping pad that feels like you’re blowing 20 breaths through a straw and worrying about the condensation from your breath being inside the pad. With this Ether light, I have no trouble with that at all!

Although I wished the outer material wouldn’t feel so much like rubber I still like it better than the Exped Ultra 3R because it is indeed more cushening. The difference is not big inspite the fact that the Exped is 3“ thick and the SeatoSummit nearly 4“. I must admit it took me nearly an hour to decide that I prefered the SeatoSummit. The Exped is slightly lighter, cheaper, has a more textile surface, - and still: Beside the stronger cushening I also liked the fact that the pump sack is also the perfect bag to put it in. With the Exped the pump sack, although at least as fast for pumping up the mat, doesn’t have that quality. So bottom line: Both are excellent but if you compare them thorougly in all aspects for me the Ether Light is still the winner and the Exped ... MoreAlthough I wished the outer material wouldn’t feel so much like rubber I still like it better than the Exped Ultra 3R because it is indeed more cushening. I chose of course the rounded regular version because of the weight.

I've only recently purchased this pad to primarily us during September and October with temperatures are expected to be between 50 and 25 degrees at night. I'm using it in conjunction with a 20 degree quilt. The pad is more than warm enough for these conditions, comfortable and quiet. I recently switches from a pad that had a R value of 1, only 2" thick, 20" wide, 72" long and 16 oz. I am 6'06" and was finally tired of my feet hanging off the end and arms falling off the side. For the added weight, this pad is absolutely worth it to sleep comfortably at night. I don't have very many nights on this pad yet, but so far I am loving it.

Great sleeping pad
29 July 2022

Gave 5 stars because the pat itself is awesome. It's 4" thick, 25" wide at the shoulders, easy setup, works well with the Sea to Summit pillow lock. Stuff sack even has space for a rolled up Sea to Summit UL pillow and cover. Used in 50-60degree F night temps in mountains. I would give 3 stars for the order placement though. This was my first time purchasing through Backcountry Gear and I was worried because there was only one mat left. It took a day to get a confirmation number and that was concerning. I didn't know that my order had been placed until I got both the order confirm and shipping info in the same day.

Insulation and Ultralight

The firmness was nice to be able to adjust to my comfort level.Inflating the mat was easy with the clever, built-in air pump. This was important to be lightweight and provide great R-value and I have no feedback other than applause thus far.The mat fits easily in my bikepacking handlebar bag, or saddlebag.I hope to keep and use this avidly for several years. Compared to other UL inflatable mats I've had, this seems like a tougher material that will less likely puncture. Fortunately, the mat also includes a patch repair kit!

Large and comfortable but also loud and cold
10 February 2023

I got the big guy and it’s huge. Love that about it. Tested it at home, it was super comfortable, the stuff sack and built in inflation bag is great. However, I took it out on my maiden voyage and slept in cool weather but not cold. I think it was 58 out. A few times through the night my back got cold and was super uncomfortable… so I’d turn… when I turned it was so loud my fiancé woke up each time. She likes to sleep. This wasn’t good.Wish it was as good as the reviews but it simply wasn’t worth the high ticket to be cold and noisy af.

Outstanding Company and Product Ether Light XT Insulated Air Sleeping Mat

I have been using this pad for about a year now. After a lot of research, looking for the perfect pad that would accommodate my chronic back issues, this was the one. I have used a lot of Sea to Summit products and in my opinion, it is by far the way to go. Not only the product but the customer service and the way they stand behind their product line. This pad will not only keep you warm with a great Rating, but the level of comfort will definitely get you a great night sleep after a long day on the trail. It's a great light weight pad that will provide you the comfort of laying in your own bed. There are a lot of good pads out there, but the Ether Light is by far the best you can by for the money. I am in no way affiliated with Sea to Summit or being paid for this ... MoreI have been using this pad for about a year now. Sea to Summit Ether Light XT Insulated Sleeping Mat Tapered Small
2 December 2022

I have just tested this mat on a bike packing trip and I am very pleased! I had the most comfortable sleep I have ever had in a lightweight tent. I used it with the Aeros pillow (which I bought ages ago and had never used) which it is designed to integrate with. The pillow attaches to the mat with self adhesive Velcro patches that are supplied with the mat. Although I was skeptical, the pillow stayed in place. The temperature was quite mild so I can’t comment on the the insulation qualities yet. It is nice and compact when storing and rolling in it up was very easy. Thanks Tom’s Outdoors for great service and competitive pricing as well as having the live stock availability!

Sea to summit. My wife

Sea to summit. My wife and cycle touring partner of two plus decades agree that the ether light xt mat has saved our marriage and cycle touring future. After two disc surgeries Elisa found even our regular Sea to Summit air cell sleeping pads to be an uncomfortable and even painful setup. We are cycling in France at the moment and marveling at the comfort of the new Ether light pads. Don't hesitate! Upgrade now and never look back. Thanks Sea to SummitBarry Goodman, Vermont

Significant Upgrade...

...over the Static V pad I've relied on for years. Slightly more weight, but this is a larger, thicker, and MUCH more comfortable pad for side sleeping. Used the insulated version in temps down to mid-20s F and had no issues with heat loss. I did notice the pad collects a substantial amount of condensation inside it when used in cold conditions, but this issue is common to all pads I've used previously. Thanks to antimicrobial treatment, no odor issues. For next season, I plan to buy the non-insulated model for summer trips, as I found this pad to be a little too warm when night temps are above the 50's. The multi-valve works well, easy to micro-adjust the pressure, and the stuff sack bag system is easy and quick to inflate the pad. No issues strapping my down quilt to this model even though it is much wider than my previous pad (a really nice feature). Overall an excellent product that has tremendously improved the quality of my sleep when tent camping.
