A good spork

I have always just grabbed the lightest spoon out of my drawer for my trips, and then always been bummed when my fingers are all covered with rehydrated pasta primavera because the dehydrated food companies make those bags too deep. Yes I could cut off the tops of the bags, but they do close up nicely to "cook" and I'm usually afraid of spilling it or somesuch before eating so I don't cut the bag down. So I finally gulped and threw down too much money (for a spoon) for the S2S spork. But realistically, $10 for The Right Tool is probably about the cheapest upgrade you can make to your kit, and since it weighs next to nothing I felt like I got a double bonus. So I have trust in this one.My only complaint is that I wish it came in a bright color since it's easy to set it down on rocks and the grey color makes it camo'd against them and also in my gear; I may tie a piece of colorful cord to the hole in the end to avoid that. and along those lines, it's nice to have the little 'biner so you can clip it to something else in your kit to not struggle to find it. Like most things in life, I find that the slightly higher price - and performance - means that I am more acutely aware of the value of the product, and this is a good'n. Most of S to S's products are well thought out, practical, light, and robust, and this is no exception.

I bought the Alpha Light Long Spork mainly to scoop food cleanly out of my dehydrated meal bags; it has been nothing but great for this purpose. Additionally, I found the Alpha Light Long Spork to work incredibly well for scooping peanut butter out of the jar as well as effortlessly spreading both peanut butter and jelly on bread for a good 'ole PBJ sandwich. The length of the Alpha Light Long Spork may be a problem to some, as it doesn't necessarily fit in conveniently anywhere, but I believe it's pros far outweigh any possible cons (and honestly, if you're not getting this to eat out of dehydrated meal bags or peanut butter, there's shorter, more fit-friendly options anyways). Finally, the added carabiner is a nice feature, especially if you want to clip the spork on the outside of your bag or use the carabiner to clip your keys or something else on the inside of your bag!

As a Spork: very good. As a back scratcher: unbelievable!

I’ve only used it a couple of times for its intended purposes while camping . I found it very light, stiff and the long handle can definitely reach to the bottom of my pre-prepared backpacking meal packets. On the minus side, I found a “spoon“ part of it to be on the small side when using it for soups, cereals, etc. This makes eating a slower and a bit more cumbersome than using a normal camping spoon; hence the 4/5 rating. However, this item is now considered the ultimate backscratcher by multiple members of my family who wound up with them as a Christmas presents. Something about the teeth, the angle, the long handle all make this a phenomenal 5+/5 back scratcher. Go figure.

Awesome Spork
24 April 2024

Its lightweight, durable, great length, and long enough to reach into food pouches and fit in my hand great. I haven't used this one yet. The finish is nice and sleek and overall great quality. Four stars is because of you are buying for many people could get expensive.

Light spork, fork part a little lacking
25 April 2024

The spork is very light and seems like it would be good for camping. The issue I had was the fork part didn't work too well. It was hard to pick up things with the fork part. The spoon part was fine.

Not for me
25 April 2024

The spork is well designed and definitely long enough, it is light weight and feels comfortable in my hand. Easy to pack for camping. But the big issue for me is the way it feels in my mouth . I don’t like the way it feels against my teeth’s. Kind of like the nails and the chalk board. If you have that sensory issue, it isn’t for you,but if that doesn’t bother you , then it’s great. It’s made of aluminum so it won’t rust .

Pick Up One For Your Next Adventure Meal
11 April 2019

When I was younger I was in the Army, and we dined on Meals Ready to Eat all the time. If you turned the package sideways and cut it open along the long side eating with a short spoon or fork was easy. If you tried to eat your meal from one of the short side you ended up with food all over the side of your hands. Now when I am out on an adventure and bring a dehydrated meal you are unable to cut the long side and seal it back. I ended up dining on my meal with food on the side of my hand. Problem is solved with the long spork. I picked this up several months ago and have used it ever since. I am pleased with the spork. It is actually strong enough bending is not going to be an issue. The extended length makes dinner on the side of the river a breeze. That makes hooking it to anything a breeze. I just bought my second one recently to take on trips when my wife is with me. You will not be disappointed.

Specific tool for food bags
8 September 2024

When I go camping, hiking, biking or bike packing, I usually go with only a spoon and a knife. But last week I forgot the spoon in my rush to get out, so decided to buy and try this at my local sport store, especially because of the long handle and because I was about to deal with dry food bags.So... Good length to stir and get the food stuck at the bottom of these bags. It did not puncture the bottom of the bag either, which happens to me once with other utensil (reason of "only a spoon"). It is light, with a nice design and color and I personally like the bending to add more strength to the spork. Basic but efficient engineering is still pleasant. This said, I'm not sure I could use it for something else than dry food in a bag, or fruits in a can. I mean to pick something in a plate. It could be a little wider to grab more food, but this is not so overly important. In brief ? I like this spork as a specific tool for food bags, more spoon than fork oriented, and I do not regret my purchase.Recommended :)

This spork brings me joy
22 September 2024

Is it weird to be so excited for a spork? Any long-handled spoon or fork or spork would be a game changer to properly reach into those backpacking meals. But the feel of this is also really nice. It's lightweight but feels ergonomic and tactile to hold. The design is excellent too. I never felt like the spoon part was not enough like a spoon or that the fork part was not enough of a fork. They both work perfectly.

Very good spork to have
23 April 2024

I received this spork for free from influencer for an honest review. I love this spork. It’s got a good grab on food, not to sharp. It’s very sturdy. It’s a good quality spork. It’s not to wide to place food in you mouth.
