I have been looking for a bowl that would be a good fit for LNT principal’s. I looked at GGG and others and ultimately landed on the Sea to Summit bowl. It offered the most capacity and could be used without fear of it leaking. It is an absolute must for those who are camping longer term, need to keep their gear and themselves clean without the waste water ending up back in our water. The only “con” I would state would be the way it folds back together, but I watched a quick video on Vimeo and now I get a reasonable fold back into the bag most times. I am sure practice will make perfect.I absolutely recommend this bowl for anyone wanting to keep clean and be a good backcountry steward. 10L is the perfect capacity for any basic cleanup, hygiene or light washing of ... MoreI have been looking for a bowl that would be a good fit for LNT principal’s. This sink is excellent. It will significantly assist you to clean dishes, especially if you are backpacking and canoe camping, and water sources are generally frustrating to use (you'll no longer need to pretty much get in the water to wash your dishes). I am happy to know that my dishes are properly cleaned, especially in bear country or on longer trips. It is very compact and light, making it almost unnoticeable as an addition to your pack. It holds plenty of water, and you'll be able to wash most small camping dishes. 10L is great size for a backpacker or canoe camper. It might be a bit small for car camping if you have regular sized pots and pans. We've used the sink as a pail to put out our fire at the end of the night, and more than once used it cover ... MoreThis sink is excellent. It will significantly assist you to clean dishes, especially if you are backpacking and canoe camping, and water sources are generally frustrating to use (you'll no longer need to pretty much get in the water to wash your dishes). Sea to Summit never fails to amaze me with their lightweight and compact products. This kitchen sink doesn't disappoint. It remains upright when filled with water. It's bigger that it looks. I bought the 20L as the 10L seemed small. But this 20L is big. In fact, a little too big for my needs. TIP: Do not fill it pass the black band for greater stability.

This is an awesome product for camping/backpacking. Packable, lightweight and serves a great purpose. Makes washing up exponentially easier while adding next to nothing to your pack. Also doubles as a water hauler should you need one. Quality is great as you expect with Sea to Summit. My only complaint is this 5L is smaller than I'd expected, I think the 10L is the way to go if you're going to be washing anything but the smallest of pots.
My partner spent too long convincing me that this was something we needed for a recent extended canoe trip. I eventually caved, but he was right. We brought two 10L sinks to act as dish wash/rinse and for backcountry showers. We ended up using them for water transfer to put out campfires and a place to do backcountry laundry, too. The variability in their use and their ease of use meshed quickly into our standard camp routine. They are lightweight, sturdy when full, and offer fabric that is patchable (should a puncture occur in the backcountry). I would highly recommend these for any sort of backcountry excursions.
I purchased this at a Sea To Summit retailer. I was under the assumption this would work for volumes up to 10L. However, I soon realized that unless the sink was almost full, it would not hold itself up. That's on me for not doing the research before, but it would have been great to note on the retail packaing that 80% fill is required to work properly. I would like to exchange my 10L for a 5L if possible.
We went with the 10L given our camping pot sizes, but we found it too big. It requires a lot of water to fill and hold it's shape. It is not rigid material at all, it's like that of a windbreaker. Other portable sinks I've had in the past by other brands have had more rigidity to them. We also found that food oils and debris stick to the inside. There are no instructions on if this can go in the washing machine or something after a camping trip to properly clean it or not. Overall, I wouldn't really recommend it. Lightweight yes, but not really that functional.
Everything but the Kitchen Sink…now you can bring the kitchen sink with you. IMO (In My Opinion) the 10L size is my favourite of the three 5L, 10L and 20L available sizes. It’s lightweight 4.7 oz./ 134 grams and packs small. I like the 11 inch diameter opening when washing full size dinner plates, well designed to stay upright, folds out and pops-up easily. The black interior warms the water when the sun is shining. It has two tabs on the carry case to easily clip a carabiner. The two handles on the sink make it easy to get water from the water source, no need for a bucket. It comes with an easy 4-step pictorial on how to conveniently fold the sink to get it back in its compact case. Environmentally friendly solution to washing in the great outdoors. LNT (Leave No Trace) Multiple uses; dish washing, wash basin for personal hygiene, rinse sink, mini laundry tub, water bucket or shampooing hair. I clip carabiners to plastic GSI Outdoors Cascadian Cups to the sink handles to use them to rinse off the sand and dirt before entering the tent or RV. I also attached the Sea to Summit Drylite Towels to the handles for quick reach use. Using the GSI cup to rinse dishes and also to hold cutlery after washing them makes for a ideal mini 3-compartment sink set up. Use your imagination… EDCCG (Every Day Carry Camping Gear) This sink can also keep the insects off your food when turned over, Rain Cap, Shower Cap, Popcorn container for movies under the Stars. Hope this review brought a smile to those who need a place to wash hands and face after eating delicious S’mores. Life is Good…Happy Camping!Big D
Perfect! I handwash when travelling to decrease the volume of my daily wear when travelling. I never do laundry in a hotel's sink for personal hygiene reasons. This ticks all the boxes. Light and compact but large enough to soak and wash a pair of pants. You can never go wrong with Sea to Summit products.
I've had two of these for several years. I bought it for car camping. At first I liked it much better than the sturdier collapsible bucket I had, because the collapsible bucket always collapsed. These pack small and light and are nice for that reason. But they don't do a great job of actually holding a lot of water to wash dishes in. Maybe better if backpacking? but for car camping, get something that takes more room/is heavier, but actually works better. Plus, after a number of years, they do wear out. Def wouldn't use in an RV because the do collapse on me periodically, leaving water all over my camp kitchen.
