Whether you hike through snow to sleep in an alpine hut or camp out after a summer storm, the Traverse won't let you down. Our unique WaveLoft construction uses thick layers of THERMOLITE insulation looped together to gain extra loft and trap pockets of warm air, providing increased warmth in colder conditions. The baffle construction also eliminates the frustration of getting tangled in loose lining as all lining fabrics are attached to the shell fabric. The Free-Flow triple-zip design ensures your sleeping bag retains maximum warmth and efficiency when needed and multiple ventilation options when it's not. The half zip on the right side of the bag provides freedom of movement for both arms, additional ventilation and means the top third of the bag can be folded down as a mini quilt. The full length, two-way left side zip and separate foot zip transforms the bag into a full quilt for when the mercury climbs higher than expected.

I was struggling to decide for a week on which sleeping bag to get, the TREK 3 or the TRAVERSE. In the end I finally decided that the TRAVERSE made the most sense for my needs. I wanted a warm & reliable bag that was reasonably light weight & comfortable and one that could ESPECIALLY handle the wet ( just in case of a flooded tent or environment. I've been blown away by the quality again as I always am with SEA TO SUMMIT GEAR and this bag was a more affordable option as well. I love the fact that it feels like a down bag as well despite being synthetic y& the inside is so soft to the touch. The only downside for me was it wasn't quite as lofty as pictures suggested but that's ok really as it compresses by around 30 to 40 % which is also handy for my motorcycle ... MoreI was struggling to decide for a week on which sleeping bag to get, the TREK 3 or the TRAVERSE. Just finished doing an overnight gear-test. I was testing a new sleeping bag (this one!), sleeping pad, tent, and thermal sleep clothes all at once. I know, I know - true scientists only change one variable at a time. In any case, when I set up camp it was just below freezing, with about 4" of snow on the ground. The tent was a three-season, with more ventilation than recommended for winter. The pad is also sold as three season, with an R-value of 3.1.Wearing socks, hat, and thermal long johns, I was a little too hot at the start of the night but cooled off quickly and zipped up. The zippers and drawstrings are a little tight, but I prefer that over ones that come undone. The temperature continued to drop to about 24 degrees, at which point I woke up a little cold. ... MoreJust finished doing an overnight gear-test. I put a second layer on my upper body and was warm for the remainder of the night.I sleep primarily on my side, and had plenty of room to move as needed.I came to leave a review that 15 degrees is optimistic - and realized what I should have already known. The comfort rating is actually 27 degrees. I'm quite impressed - that means that my test, flawed though it may be, confirms the temperature ratings listed for this product. I'm looking forward to more nights in this bag, although I am getting a silk liner for warmer weather as I'm sure the material will stick to bare skin somewhat.

I like the feel & design of this sleeping bag. There's a full-length zipper on one side to get in/out and a half-length zipper on the other side for ventilation or movement. The hood is great for holding a semi-circle pillow in place. The bag packs up into the stuff sack easily and is small and lightweight. However, Idk how this is rated to 35 degrees for women ("comfort"), 25 degrees for men ("lower limit"), and -6 for survival ("extreme). As a woman I find this bag comfortable to about 50 degrees, with sweatpants and a sweatshirt on. I've used it for 38-40 degrees, but only with a fleece blanket inside, while wearing multiple layers on top & bottom.

First "decent" sleeping bag I've purchased. Bought this Sea to Summit model for the foot room and overall size. Really warm bag. Bought +5deg warmer as a "just in case", looks like Sea to Summit bags are rated for their temperature without any factor of safety / margin for error. V happy with this bag.
We were a bit hesitant as we had never purchased anything from this site before but even right around Christmas time the customer support team helped us place the order and it shipped so quickly ! The sleeping bags themselves are amazing! Highly recommend :)
I really wanted to like this bag as it has some of the best features but unfortunately it was just way too large for me. I’m 5’5 and 125lbs. It doesn’t get as small as the compressed photos (I think that is one of their other bags) and it is very bulky! It didn’t seem very warm either, so I sent it back.Very happy with the Mammut bag that I exchanged it for, but it was also twice as expensive.
This bag claims to be rated to 25 degrees comfort for men. It's not even close. I woke up repeatedly, freezing cold, wearing long underwear top. At 4 in the morning I was shivering in the bag. I checked my phone for the temperature at the nearest weather station: 42 degrees. I put on pants and a light jacket, crawled back in, and was STILL cold in the morning.
I’ve only had it out on a 45* night so far but within 10 minutes of getting into it, and several times throughout the night, I had to vent it because it got to be too warm. That’s not the bag’s fault; all the bags I’ve had until now are 10-15 years old so I’m used to having to squeeze every bit of insulation out of them that is possible. What I should have done is open up the zipper and perhaps every use it as a blanket instead in warmer weather like I had.The construction of the bag was very well thought-out; especially the zipper design that pairs with the women’s bags and the small loops for attaching cord (I used elastic shock cord) to keep a sleeping mat from sliding out from underneath you are a nice touch.
This feels like a down bag once you are inside, not heavy and slow to warm like synth bags of yore.I was a bit worried at first that it was so thin - maybe I should have got the TV3 - I have not had it down to 0° yet but even at about 5° I used it like a doona because it was too warm zipped up. I reckon the 2° rating is conservative and feel it would be fine to a few degrees below. The bag is well made and well thought out - especially the double sided zip and the extra foot room.Down is still the best fill for gram counters but this bag is very impressive for the price and the difference in warmth to weight/volume is nowhere near as stark as it used to be.
I have used this sleeping bag a few times, most recently when it was 30° at night. It is definitely more roomy than most mummy bags but packs down at the same size. It’s light, warm, and plently of room. My only complaint is it’s a battle to get it back in the stuff sack. Be prepared to spend 10 minutes shoving it in or buying a different one.
