I bought this to replace a roll up sponge mat to reduce the amount of luggage on a cycling/camping trip to the south of France, in as much as it would fit inside a pannier rather than have to be strapped on the top.Initially I was very sceptical about the product, which from the photo looked like a cheap seaside blow up airbed. However, it's far from that! very well constructed, from lightweight but super strong plastic, with a clever inflation technique. The stuff sack inflator is so much better than blowing by mouth. The valve is also well designed, being about 20mm in diameter, when opened, the mat deflates instantly making rolling it up really easy.Very comfortable, far more so than the sponge mat that I've used on previous trips, and even on one very cold ... MoreI bought this to replace a roll up sponge mat to reduce the amount of luggage on a cycling/camping trip to the south of France, in as much as it would fit inside a pannier rather than have to be strapped on the top.Initially I was very sceptical about the product, which from the photo looked like a cheap seaside blow up airbed. However, it's far from that! very well constructed, from lightweight but super strong plastic, with a clever inflation technique. We are currently using these pads in our hitchhiking round the world tour, they are very comfortable for sleeping and easy to inflate but after 2 years of travel, they start to have many holes in the middle of the "air sprung cells". In the beginning i though the holes came from some kind of thorn and i fixed them with the adhesive patches provided, but the pads kept deflating during the night. This morning i inflated my pad and filled the "inter cells" with water to see if any air bubbles would appear and i just found 5 more holes, always in the 'inter cell" parts of the pad so i am sure the holes are not from thorns but from a default of the fabric. I always find myself on the hard floor in the middle of the night. Unfortunately i cant find the invoice of these ... MoreWe are currently using these pads in our hitchhiking round the world tour, they are very comfortable for sleeping and easy to inflate but after 2 years of travel, they start to have many holes in the middle of the "air sprung cells". I would recommand for light weight and comfort but not for durability.Anything SeaToSummit could do to help?

this has been working a treat for my bikepacking trip and barely takes up any space. Its comfortable both on my back and on my side. The material, although lightweight seems very durable. My only only negative would be that whenever i move it sounds like a choir of farts and I'm quite a fidgety person.

Bought this for bikepacking and tested in the garden. Firstly it’s as light as you could expect it to be. Perfect for lightweight hiking or bikepacking. Secondly, ease of inflation: with the integrated pump sack, it takes 3-4 inflations to completely fill the mattress and takes no more than a minute to inflate. It also deflates quickly and can be packed up back to the case in under a minute. Finally comfort: I was expecting this to not compare to my normal self inflating mattress for comfort but it’s better. I will probably never use the ‘normal’ one again after using this. I tend to get hip pain from the thin mattress but this gives none of that, presumably due to the pockets of air that move around to support where needed. Absolutely worth the money and would buy ... MoreBought this for bikepacking and tested in the garden. Firstly it’s as light as you could expect it to be. I've paired this sleeping mat with the the North Face Stormbreak 1 for a go-to solo bikepacking kit, and when inflated the Large size fits perfectly inside of the tent. While there are more expensive and potentially more comfortable options, this has been excellent thus far. It provides an appropriate amount of comfort and great value for the price, especially when purchased using Altitude Sports' membership program. As an added bonus, the mat packs down to a highly manageable size and the exterior case doubles as a manual pump/inflation tool––make sure to test the length in your tent once the mat is inflated, as it is longer when deflated. For these reasons, if you are looking for a quality, cost-effective piece of kit I would recommend considering this mat for ... MoreI've paired this sleeping mat with the the North Face Stormbreak 1 for a go-to solo bikepacking kit, and when inflated the Large size fits perfectly inside of the tent. I really like this mat so far. I'm 6' tall and use the regular-sized version. I'm a side-sleeper and had no issues with this mat; it keeps my hips well off the ground (I'm a light-weight person though; a heavier person might have a different experience). Also, I did NOT think this was noisy at all, and I'm especially sensitive to noise/light sleeper, so I wouldn't be concerned about that. This mat is DEFINITELY for warmer weather. When the nighttime temps got down to about 40F I could feel my warmth being lost underneath me and got a little bit chilled. So, be forewarned. Otherwise, I love how fast it inflates, and love the weight/packed size. The Thermarest Neo Air/XLite mats are probably much better for cool weather, but they cost at least twice as much.
I got this mat because the large size packs down as small as most companies' regular size sleeping mats. Inflation is a breeze, it stays inflated all night, it packs down super quick, and it comes with some velcro-like stickies to keep your Sea-to-Summit pillow from sliding off in the middle of the night. I can only comment on the comfort as a back sleeper, and it was fantastic in that category. I stayed put all night on my mat, when on other mats I have tossed and turned from discomfort. Another great quality is it isn't a noisy pad. Some other reviewers have mentioned it was too noisy... Who knows, maybe they were comparing it to a 12 inch thick memory foam mattress or something. It is much quieter than the previous mat I was using, and I have not received any ... MoreI got this mat because the large size packs down as small as most companies' regular size sleeping mats. It is much quieter than the previous mat I was using, and I have not received any complaints from tent mates. I did a lot of research and testing out other brands before I went with this one, and I'm glad I did. It's a great value for an ultralight sleeping mat that isn't super fragile, and packs down to an incredibly small size. I will definitely buy the insulated version for the colder nights ahead.
Deflated on first use. Had a hole on a crease line from initial packing at factory. I returned it for a replacement which worked well for one season, but since then I've had at least three holes, all on crease lines, some on top where only contact was with sleeping bag. At home I store the bag unrolled and draped over a hanger in my closet, so it doesn't get deep creases, but this doesn't seem to help
Used this on a thru of the AT in 2018. It was a bit cold at times, but it's super comfortable otherwise. I was definitely not gentle with it and slept many nights on rocks and roots and never had a single puncture. It rolls up small, but there are now smaller and lighter options than this. The valve system is the best on the market. Easy to inflate, and instantaneously deflates--no need to roll/squeeze out air and roll it up in 2 stages. If I could pair the Uberlight with this valve it would be my ideal pad. I still own this one, but have gone to the UberLight for weight savings and an increased R value. But I honestly find this one more comfortable. This is still a relatively light option for warm weather trips. But I cannot stress how awesome the S2S valve system is--one valve door for inflating and one for deflating. Pop it open and the air is gone. But the only insulation is the air.
Very happy with this. Bought this last month on basis of reviews on various websites. Super light to carry and well constructed for firm padding to sleep on, some lab tech really got deep into advanced design of synthetic fiber fabrication. I used this on 3-night backpacking trip in the Sierras in late July. Reviews were right, good fair price for what it delivers ... which included a very clever inflation tool. I did not get a pillow to go with it, I had one. Reviews said best for warmer weather and that's what I used it for, I have a great 3 season bag too, so I did not consider this pad for any warmth needs. On all other counts of comfort and lightweight packing, it scores high marks. Also thanks REI for quick availability for online shopping and 1-day ... MoreVery happy with this.
