Seachem Safe 4kg Dechlorinator Product Description Safe is the complete and concentrated dry conditioner for both fresh and salt water. Safe removes chlorine, chloramine and ammonia. Safe converts ammonia into a safe, non-toxic form that is readily removed by the tank's biofilter. Safe may be used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. Safe detoxifies nitrite and nitrate, allowing the biofilter to more efficiently remove them. Safe is non-acidic and will not impact pH. Safe will not overactivate skimmers. Use at start-up and whenever adding or replacing water. Why It's Different Safe is the dry version of Prime and shares all of it's advantages; however, Safe is even more concentrated than Prime. Directions NOTE. These directions supersede all other prior packaging. Use 1.25 g (1/4 tsp.) for every 1,250 L (300 gallons) as needed to reduce chlorine and chloramine or use 1.25 g (1/4 tsp.) for every 300 L (75 gallons) for ammonia. May be added to aquarium directly, but better if added to new water first. If adding directly to aquarium, base dose on aquarium volume. For exceptionally high chloramine concentrations, a double dose may be used safely. To detoxify nitrite and nitrate in an emergency, up to 4 times normal dose may be used. If temperature is > 30 °C (86 °F) and chlorine or ammonia levels are low, use a half dose.

Our city water is so full of chloramine that it has been impossible to get the ammonia out without leaving the water out for several days along with using aquasafe and still had traces of ammonia so we used jugs of reverse osmosis water with added minerals and man it was getting expensive! Well I met a guy who's a breeder a couple weeks ago and he showed me this stuff after I told him that our city water was so bad I didn't use it, he said man get you some of this it'll be your best friend when it comes to treatment of any city water because it works! When I got home I ordered a 2.2 lb bottle of it and he was so right!! 1/4 teaspoon of this treats 300 gallons according to the directions and if you use more it won't cause your fish any harm so i been using about a ... MoreOur city water is so full of chloramine that it has been impossible to get the ammonia out without leaving the water out for several days along with using aquasafe and still had traces of ammonia so we used jugs of reverse osmosis water with added minerals and man it was getting expensive! He's right about this becoming best friends for myself and our fish!! I will never waste another nickel on any of those other products or ro h20 it's nothing but safe for me and the fish again!! It says it will reduce nitrites and nitrates as well but I haven't had to put it to the test for those issues and in all honesty I doubt I ever have to because anytime I want to do a water change all I gotta do is fill my 55 gallon water drum with a teaspoon or so of this amazing ammonia killer and fill it up with water drop my bubbler in and the next morning it's on. Do yourself a favor if your having ammonia issues and get yourself a bottle of this because it's going to work better than anything out there that I know of and your fish are going to love you for it!!

Ive been using this product, SAFE, now for the past two years on my discus tank. Since I change the water 20 to 30% every other day this has saved me so much money. One container last me almost 8 months. I use the recommended amounts, since my water test are really good out of the tap, and on some days I may use just a little bit more. My Discus dont seem to be affected by this. Does have a rotten egg smell when you open the container. I will use this product until they stop making it. I do recommend this product.

If you use prime water conditioner - this is the concentrated version! I purchased the smaller size (2 years ago - sadly it got wet and ruin) This is significantly larger quantity (more cost effective) will probably last me easily a decade with 3 fish tanks over 10 gallon all with fish! Great product!
Excellent product, in all respects ; thanks!
Purchasing from a trusted source made this easy. The bag is unmarked so be sure you label it with measurement instructions.
If you're a avid fish lover like we are then this is well worth looking into! If you've ever had to perform water changes on a large volumed aquarium, then you know the importance of removing unwanted chemicals for your pets when adding fresh water back into the aquarium. We have used several types of water treatments and Seachem Safe has turned out to be the most cost effective item to date! You don't need alot of the product to ensure your water is safe for fishes and the high concentration lasts a long, long time. We've practically eliminated the runs to the LFS to get de-chlorinator with Seachem SAFE. I recommend this product for anyone who intend to keep fishes healthy and please do read the label as it's not a pre-made/ready to use solution. Thanks!
The dry version of Prime. and even more condensed than the last version of Safe. This amount should last a long time. Prime/Safe are known as the "go to" water conditioner among fish keepers in the hobby. I've never had an issue with it. Tip: obtain a small smidgen spoon to administer smaller doses for 5 gallon buckets.
First time lv bought a repack and pleased to say its exactly the same ,but cheaper to buy. SAFE is the only dechlorinator l use as it detoxifies nitrate and nitrite in emergency
I love the Seachem products and have used Prime for years, but now I have several aquariums in my home and it was getting expensive to treat my water. The tiny scoop that was included treats 25 gallons. It is super easy to use and much more affordable than Prime.
